Subject: WAR: Faction Hunt

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, the was a
small, wicked faction called 'Nothers. (Or some such
thing; my brain ain't what it used to be.) This
faction was inhabited with people who love Natalie,
but think she'd be much better off with someone,
anyone!, who ain't Nick. There was even a Yahoo group
dedicated to such wicked thoughts, but it seems to
have faded away. Are there any remaining 'Nothers out
there planning to make War? Or have you been subsumed
by the voracious NatPackers?

Failing that, I dither between announcing my Die
Hardy-ness and simply declaring myself a shiftless,
irresponsible Vacquera and being done with it. The
trouble is, I've no idea to which Warmistress I would
announce said allegiance. Should I actually make up my
mind. Methinks my fear of making a commitment puts me
solidly in the Vaquera camp, but I could be wrong.

It's late in the day, and my brain is well-done. If
any of the above made a lick of sense, I can be
reached at jlc_fresno@y.......

If none of it made any sense, then I need chocolate
even more than usual. Send help.

The war is all one file, a tad over 5 megabytes in size.

Valerie: There are many factions, and fractions. If you Google "FK
factions" you'll find lots of webpages that list some or all of the
factions.

As for the War, the War Maestro has listed which factions will be
eligible to participate in War 12. Here is his (I assume it is a he,
since it's "Maestro" and not "Maestra" *shrug*) post to the leaders
loop:

Subject: [fkwarleaders] War Leaders: It's Time To Organize

Dear War Leaders:

It's time to start getting your players together, and obtaining their
permission slips. Here's the required wording for the permission slip:

"I, <name>, <email address>, hereby express my intention to
participate in the Forever Knight War 12 on FKFIC-L, and hereby grant
permission to other participants to portray me as a character in their
writing."

Please have your permission slips collected and a list of participants
posted to this list and to your war faction web page (if you have one)
by October 25. You do not need to post the participant's real name
publicly, but your faction members do need to supply it to you
privately on their permission slips.

War 12 is limited to the major factions. In War 11, these factions were:

Cousins
Cousins of the Knight
Dark Perks
Die Hards/Independents
FoDs
Knighties
Mercenary Guild
NatPack
Nick and NatPack
Nunkies Anonymous
RatPack
Ravenettes
Unnamed Faction
Vaqueros
The only other factions I can think of that might wish to participate
are the Urchins and the Perks. They did not participate in War 11,
however.

To be eligible to participate, each faction must have at least 4
members. Members of fractions, or those who choose to remain
unaffiliated with any particular faction, can play as Die Hards or
Independents. These people can submit their permission slips to me.

I will have a War 12 website set up shortly. This website will display
the war rules, links to faction war web pages, lists of faction
members (those who have submitted permission slips) and faction
leaders, and other related crucial war information.

I hope the war premise will prove to be entertaining and full of
opportunities to get to know other list members and renew old
acquaintances. But first things first---let's get organized!

Of the four main Nothers that made up the faction, I'm the only one still
doing Wars. We're all on a list together, so I can ask them if they want to
play, if you want. Let me know.

I heard a song from a musical that made me think of the 'Nothers.
"There's a Fine, Fine Line" from Avenue Q. It's a perfect "Natalie
moving on to find something better" song...and it's pretty to boot.
Maybe once I figure out Premiere I'll try and do something with it.

Never heard the term "Twilight Knighties" before ... interesting. Anyway,
the last time the Dark Knighties played separately was in War 8. Since you
need at least 4 faction members to play as a faction, you may or may not be
able to scare up enough others to make it as a group. From War 9 on, Dark
Knighties have been welcome to play with the Cousins, if they so choose;
many have. It's up to you, of course.

Subject: FANZINE PAYMENT: Season of Change by Deborah A. Hymon

I want to thank all of you that pre-ordered the books, and paid when they
arrived. I trusted everyone with the pre-order requests. I took the
pre-orders to get an accurate count of how many to publish. The more books
published, the cheaper the printing cost. I'm happy to say that most of you
were very honest and prompt with your payment, and I thank you for that.

I paid for 125 books up front when the order was placed. I still have 13
copies that haven't been paid for. This seems a bit unfair, when I trusted
people. The only reason I took on this project was because readers requested
it.

I've had people emailing me that they never received notice that the books
were in or the cost. This is not true, because I've posted notices several
times on different lists. I've also privately emailed many people, and keep
accurate records of all correspondence.

I'm writing this letter to the groups, because I still have 13 copies to
sell. If anyone is interested, please email me off list at:

debh@erinet.com

I've had requests to do another FK fanzine, and I have to honestly say that
I'm not sure if I will. If I do, only the people who were prompt this time
will be able to pay after the books are published. Also, by not taking
pre-orders, there is no way to get a book count before printing, and keeping
the cost down. This is something that other FK writers should think about if
they ever decide to take on publishing a fanzine.

Again, thank you to all who kept their promise, and supported this project.

Sincerely,
Deborah A. Hymon

Which war had the multiples of each character and the goal was to

This is just for my own curiosity - I played in it but don't remember
which one... it was a while ago since I was in college and I
