I'm a UF-fer, but I could also claim membership in just about any other faction
that includes Nick -- my joke is that I just must like to see him get "some."
"g" I was also a member of the CotK list at one time, but it kind of fizzled
last I looked. Anyway, the point is that I could just as easily join the Dark
Trinity, the Unholy Trinity, the N&N Packers, the IB, as well as many others, as
long as they don't blast my man Nick, soooo....Maybe I should just join the
Knighties, for the sake of the war, if they'd have me? Or can I belong to 2
factions (long time uffish, though I also wrote an N&N piece) at the same time? Any
advice, suggestions, etc. appreciated.

One word for Canada in the 60's: Trudeamania!

The discrimination problem was mostly to do with Natives; this was about the
time that the AFN (Assembly of First Nations) became a bigger political reality,
partly due to Trudeau's well-intended but naïve effort to scrap the Indian Act
while he was Minister of Indian and Northern Affairs.

As for desegregation of schools (Black/White), that took place very quietly in
the 40's & 50's, IIRC. I believe the bulldozing of Africville (Black district of
Halifax) also happened in the 60s. Google Africville--I know there's a new
historic site or something related to it.

OH, and there was this little event called Expo '67 in Montreal, and the whole
Canadian centennial that year... that's why popular Canadian historian Pierre
Berton calls 1967 "the last good year".

Listmember frquently are members of more than one faction. (I claim 4 myself)
but for FKWAR purposes you must choose ONE to play along with.

Occasionally factions may choose to combine their play -- (Ravenettes and
IB's in previous wars?, Cousins and Light Cousins in War10, Glowworms
and ???? ) but that's on a faction basis not indivdual choices.

You're allowed to /belong/ to as many factions as you wish; you simply have
to choose which one you want to "play" with during the war. For me, it's a
choice between the Vaq's and the NNPack... I've been playing with the NNPack
faction for the past four wars; will probably go with them again this war :)

Subject: War: another possibility for players

In all but one of the past wars, it's been possible to play as an independent.
This is distinct from the Die-Hards, who refuse to choose among the characters.
Independents can get involved in the action, but aren't members of a particular
faction. When I played as an independent in one war, I introduced a thousand
glow-in-the-dark pink mice into CERK. My persona then had a whack on the head
and spent the rest of the war convinced that she was a talking cat.

Just thought I'd mention it as an extra option for the non-aligned. :)

Job emergency. I'm sorry, but I have to put off participating in war planning
for at least 2 weeks and maybe 6. If you can manage without me, fine. But I may
even have to be no mail.

I've seen several stories in which Nick and Nat go to a costume party with
Nick dressed as a 13th century crusader (I don't remember the names of them all).
Can you remember anymore details that might help identify the story you're
looking for?
