Probably many of you know about this, but when I chanced on _The Canadian
Encyclopedia_ ( http://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.com/index.cfm?Params=A1
) tonight, one of my first thoughts was to share with forkni-l. It's
maintained by a charitable foundation devoted to Canadian history, and
claims to be "the most comprehensive and authoritative source on all things
Canadian," and, goodness knows, we non-Canadian FK fans can use such
information from time to time. :-)

I can't remember the title of the story which an enemy of Nick's brings
Nat across out of revenge. I know I asked this before, but I lost the
message the author replied to me with.

Thanks,
Cassandra

PS In the story, Nick finds Nat at her apartment just before awaking as
a fledgling.

Nick: I need a favor, Nat.

Nat: I don't know, Nick, favors for you usually involve more than "Can
I borrow your car?"

Nick: I'll need that too.

You laugh at a thread on a (UK-based, can you tell?) message board about Ribena.

Entitled: Your fave Ribena

The voting categories are as follows (with message board descriptions)

Original (and best)
Light (wussy Ribena)
Toothkind (Dentist Ribena)
Flavour (That wierd Strawberry/Orange/Oooh/Aaah kind)
I am strange and do not like Ribena in any way, shape or form.

So far, the original has the most votes...

It is a big *THINK* it is. I received my comp copies last night so got to see
the art for the first time. The story was written a year ago so I'd forgotten
most of my jokes too<g>

It is Atomic Mouse, issue 3, and the story "Forever Ted" is towards the back. I
won't spoil anything (please don't post spoilers), but the artwork is great. I
gave the artist, Joe Staton, an idea of what fans might like, and the genious he
is, he ran with it. I'm particularly happy with "LaCrow." BWAHAHAH.

Joe Staton's art has recently been gracing the cover of many Scooby Doo comics,
and he has drawn the comics Green Lantern, Guy Gardner, E-Man (which he
created), Mike Mauser, Batman, and many, many others.

As I said, I can't swear this will be in comic book stores this week. I'm not
sure of the time lag between printing and delivering to the distributors. But if
it isn't this week, it should be next.

I found a comic book store here in Charleston, and they have never
heard of it. So, I'm going to check the comic book store in Columbia
(only 125 miles away). In case they, too, have never heard of it, is
someone willing to buy an extra copy of it for me? We can settle cost
and shipping off list....

My bad - the local store owner tells me if I got my copies just last night, then
it should be on store shelves NEXT week. By the way, I thought the cover price
was going to be $6.50, but I just noticed it is $4.99.

This comic IS listed in "Previews" so comic stores should be able to backorder
it if they don't carry it. Ask about that. This is a widely available comic, BUT
probably not well stocked on store shelves so many stores may not have it (or
even heard of it).

You can also order from the publisher... Shoot, I don't have the website handy,
but run a search for Shanda Fantasy Arts. There's on-line comic book stores as
well.

As far as me having extra copies, not at the moment. I do, but I've promised to
send copies to several of the actors, PN Elrod, etc., and that may delete my
supply.

Speaking of, could someone "official" with Ger's fan club contact me at
Libratsie@a.......? I need to find someone RELIABLE to forward his to him. I have
a way to get one to Nigel.

And, yes, of course Greg Kramer is getting one even if I couldn't fit Screed
into the story <g>

Subject: Got my DVDs...

Hey y'all!

After much fighting and wars with the seller, I
*finally* got my DVDs. See I ordered them from one of
the Amazon sellers, paid my money, but they never
arrived. I emailed them, and they informed me that
they'd sent them to a *Florida* zip code. <g> Since
that's one state down, I complained, only to be told
that it was my fault. So... I emailed Amazon customer
service, who redirected me to their claims department,
who after investigating the matter, gave me my money
back, so I reordered them, this time from Amazon.
They just got here, but I haven't watched them yet.
<G> It's dead week, and I've got papers to write. ;)

Hanging in until school is out,

Laura
