Ah, yes, the Brabant Rose. Quoting Mancy Kaminski:
"I wanted to get one, but it is hardy only in zones 7-9....I, unfortunately,
am in Zone 3."
I decided to look up what zone I and a close friend (in both geography and
heart) live in, we are both in zone 9a. Should memory serve me right, I believe
a few families on the street I grew up on had some of these. If you're reading
this, amiga, do I sense another endeavour coming along? <g>

While watching the Angel episode that costarred John Kapelos, I
received this link on another list:

Woo hoo! It's raining vampires!
Enjoy the read. Connection? Do you suppose FK-style vampires spread
these legends so they weren't suspected of being vampires themselves?

I think I could see Lacroix frightening a few of those peasants. :P Or
rather Vachon. What's more frightening for me actually is that while the
cited practice is seldom found, a lot of people were talking about it (it
was on the national Romanian news) and some even thought you had to be
*sure* the person is dead. *rolls eyes* Granted, it was in a rural, backward
area. Personally, I think they'd need Natalie to pull such a scam off.

I kind of liked the line in the article that said something to the
affect that vampires can be anywhere, but in big cities no one
notices. :)
Hey no one noticed that Nick was a vampire.
