I was just tryint various searches on ebay to see if anything came up
and came across a listing for a Rose bush (well the roots, so you can
plant it in your own yard) for the Duchess of Brabant rose.
The info thing said that the flower was developed in 1857 and that it
was a favorite of Teddy Roosevelt - he apparently often wore one on
his lapel.
Gee, maybe Nick introduced him to that particular variety of rose. :)
(Fiction anyone?)
I'd get one (only 9.99) but I have no luck with roses.

I grow roses! Use to have over 250 bushes in a formal rose garden until my
arthritis prevented me from maintaining it.

What color does the bush come in? I want one!!! Can you share the URL?

WOW!! I see a major fan fiction story here. I sure hope someone runs with
the idea.

It is a wonderfully fragrant, light pink, continual blooming large tea
rose, according to the description. There is a picture and it is
very pretty.
Here is the URL for the one ending in 45 minutes, there are also a
couple more offered (I think by the same seller)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2389416885&category=3185

It won't let me put it all on one line, so you'll have to cut and
paste it into the addy spot of your browser. Or just go to ebay and
do a search on "brabant"

Sorry if this gets posted twice, but my computer locked up when I hit
send and I had to restart it. (Can't wait to order my new one
tomorrow)

It is a "wonderfully fragrant, light pink continuous blooming large
tea rose" according to the description.
Here is the url

Sorry I couldn't paste it all on one line, you'll have to cut and

search for "brabant"
This one ends in about 40 minutes, but there are a couple more that I
think are by the same seller.
Enjoy!

Good Evening Deborah,

I found these roses a year ago. This particular URL I think comes from
England. The roses are a Pink color with the scent of cloves. I have read
where Nat's scent is a mixture with clove. The URL is www.chambleeroses.com
Look in the search for "Duchess de Brabant". Hope this helps.
Yours, Debbi the KnightCrusader

I have a VHS tape of Snakes and Ladders, if anyone would like it. All six
episodes are on one tape, and the tape itself had been used before, so the
quality isn't that great (and it wouldn't be fair to charge anyone for it)
but it's certainly watchable. So if anyone wants it, please let me know
off-list.

FWIW, I'm watching one of these! LOL I've been looking for a rosebush to
replace the one that my old roommate killed, and this is perfect! I didn't
know there was a Brabant Rose.

Thanks Amanda!

Thanks, this was better than the photo on ebay! I do feel a story emerging.
Of course you know it'll be a Nick and Nat one.

Regarding this lovely rose:

I wanted to get one, but it is hardy only in zones 7-9. So be sure you're in
the warmer areas of the US if you order this rose, or you'll lose it during
winter.

I, unfortunately, am in Zone 3. Most roses have to be buried (we use the
"Minnesota Tip" method---dig a trench, then tip the rose and lay it down so that it's
buried by about six inches of dirt) to survive our winters. So no Brabant roses
for me, darn it!

So tell us about it. Who was Nigel playing? How'd he do? Any mannerisms, vocal
or physical, that reminded you of LC?

Here's April -- Yes, already... April... Winter is finally
(well mostly) over, I've got tulips and daffodils blooming
here in eastern Washington, and it may actually hit
70 something today.

Here's the list for the A-List....that kinda seemed that was
all that anyone was interested in, and it saves me a bunch
of time not checking for some 20 other actors. If there's
someone in particular that you're interested in, let me know
and I can check.

This is a good month to fill in your collection of tapes, some of
these aren't on very often.
