Thanks Amanda for sharing your impressions of Ger ala Edmund! You should
definitely get your friend to try going to the stage door again. Can't wait to see
your pix.

Was watching "Can't Run, Can't Hide" recently. This episode has always
bothered me, because of it's seeming message that no matter what you do, you can't be
forgiven. (At the very least, that was LaCroix's message to Nick!) So as I
was mulling it over, I realized that, if it has to have a 'message', the message
is not so much about Nick or Officer Casey, but about the vengeful Tran. And
now I feel the need to wax eloquent, so bear with me. For twenty years he
pursued revenge, and what did he accomplish? More death. He didn't change the
past, affect the present, or influence the future for the better-- all he did was
deprive Toronto of an intelligent, dedicated juvenile parole officer. Twenty
years-- just think of the good he could have done with that time, the lives he
could have improved, if he'd wanted to. But he didn't want to. All he wanted
was revenge. So I think the message of this story is not so much the idea that
we cannot be forgiven, but the destructive and
wasteful power of those who refuse to forgive.

An excellent observation! The desire for revenge has wreaked more
senseless havoc on the world than can be expressed. You only have to
look at the Middle East to see how destructive revenge can be.

Hi

I have had the pleasure of seeing Ger two times in King Lear. Once in
Previews and once on opening night. I had the best time. The first time I saw
him I
was in about the tenth row on the right side. For opening night first row
balcony on the left side. Wow, what a difference in seeing the play on 2
different
sides. He just looked great and the costumes were marvelous. I am going 2 more
times to the play. I guess living in NY has some advantages.

I also got to see Paul Newman on opening night . That was pretty kewl too. He
walked right by me-boy did I do a double take.

I was able to take some nice photo's with him. He was very gracious to us
all.

Sue H-a very happy new yorker

I meant Ger not Paul Newman (g).
