Subject: Extra Scene in "Dead Issue"

"Dead Issue" is definitely the most-altered (between its US and Canadian
versions) of all the 1st season episodes. The flashbacks were completely
re-ordered and shown in different places, and to confuse things even more, the
second run of this episode in Canada was *also* altered.

But there's a completely extraneous scene in the CBS version of "Dead Issue"
that is not on the DVD, not on my Canadian tape, and not in the Sci Fi Channel
version. (!)

CBS chopped out the scene in Nick's loft where Nat gives him the yucky green
veggie drink. In its place, after Mrs. Fiori has made her taped statement in
Act 3, is the rape flashback. (The second run of the Canadian version cuts the
rape scene entirely, so I don't know if the extra bit was there.) Following the
flashback, Nick "snaps out of it" sitting on his couch. He's wearing an outfit
not seen in the rest of the episode (blue jeans and a black shirt with what
looks like a silver belt). He squeezes the back of the couch on his way to the
fridge, which he yanks open. He pulls out a bottle, moves back into the kitchen,
pulls out the cork and tosses it toward the table, then takes a drink.

OK, so where did CBS pull *this* scene from??? I suspect its from some other
episode entirely, but I don't know which one. Anyone have a klew?

Does anyone have a copy that they would be willing to share of "The Same
Saturday Night" by Nyx Fixx, or know where I could find one? It used to be
available on Jadfe, but now I just get the message "URL not found" when I
click on it there.

Which can be found where? I've been hunting high and low for this story,
and can't find it on any of the main FK sites! (And there have been several
other stories by Spike that I've heard reference to but can't track down
either.)

I believe I've fixed all the broken links on the JADFE
site. You should be able to access the story you are
looking for now. If anyone else finds a broken link,
please let me know.

Subject: Nick/LC song

A while back there was a discussion on the list about what songs would fit each
character. Well, on the way to work today "Every Breath You Take" by The
Police came on. Listening to the lyrics, I thought it really fit Nick and
Lacroix. I mean the song *is* about stalking and posession. Sting has said he
finds it funny that so many people think it is such a romantic song.
But with lines like "Oh, can't you see you belong to me" and "I'll be watching
you" makes me think of Nick and LC through the centuries. (i.e - Nick trying to
get away and LC endlessly watching him and persuing him because in his eyes
Nick 'belongs' to him)
Oh, yeah.... I am writing a story and I just want to clarify, the song that
Nick plays in Night in Question... is that 'Fur Elise'? I think so, but I am
just making sure.

Has anyone done a music video to this? If so, where can I find it? If not,
would anyone be interested in seeing one? Now that I have the DVDs, I might
consider doing one.

ROTFL. You're so right. <bg> I called it the
"Stalker Song" once, and was immidiately shouted down
by everyone else in the car.
