Amazon doesn't post reviews from people who haven't seen (or heard) the
recorded product. They prefer that you have the product in order for you to
write an accurate review about it, which is why you'll be asked if you own the
product you're reviewing before you write the post.
Also, once a review of a tape, CD or DVD has been written, it usually takes
about seven days or so for your review to be posted. I've written and posted 4
reviews on Amazon (3 reviews for music, and one for a video game), and it's
nice to share your thoughts about a particular CD, DVD, video tape or video game
(among other things) with the rest of the world.
And to kee this FK-related, I did see the price hike for the FK DVD's when I
checked back at Amazon yesterday. I'd really love to have it, but right now,
my money's kinda funny, and at this particular time, I'm unable to purchase it.
I do have it on my Wish List, though.
Hope this helps ... and it's back to lurking. :-)

I thought I'd cancelled my original order so I could place an order for two at
the $22whatever price, but didn't cancel the original order. UNLESS they hike
the price on the $22 pre-orders, I may go ahead and take all three in case
someone wants a cheaper price. I'll just have to wait and see how MY finances
are in October.
Was it at www.deepdiscountdvd.com where someone saw it "Why pay $79 when you can
get it at $22?" I ask because I was checking that site for another DVD for a
friend, and thought I'd take another look to see their cost for FK. FK was NOT
listed there at all as of an hour ago. Maybe I have my sites confused.
Anyway, if amazon raises their pre-orders to $59 and deepdiscountdvd isn't
offering it, I'll still take ONE at the $59 price. That's still decent.
I'm getting VERY excited! One hyper lil' Ratpacker. eeeeee.
Also, Amazon says it contains all 22 episodes of the first season.

WOW! I just noticed today that FK is ranked as the #1 best seller as
Amazon.ca! I didn't realize there was that many people ordering through that
one!
http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000C23T1/702-5890050-2530408
On another note, FK has dropped a bit at amazon.com. It's now #91, but
that's still very good. So far, they seem to be honoring the pre-orders at
the first price.
Wow, this is SO great!!!

Yes, DDD did still have it at $22, and did make reference to the $79 price,
so with a bit of luck they'll be keeping the price at $22. But as of this
moment I just checked to make sure and FK isn't found on their site again. It
had vanished for a short time the other day, then came back saying "why pay $79,
pay $22", and now it seems to be gone again. :-( I'm still hoping they'll
keep it at $22, but now I guess we'll have to wait and see.
If it does come back at a really good price and if anyone who hasn't used
them before is having any qualms about ordering from them, I can vouch for DDD
being about 95% of the time the cheapest place for DVDs, and for them having
absolutely outstanding all around service. Besides having incredible prices,
shipping is always FREE. And unlike Amazon that makes you wait if you want the
free shipping, DDD is fast too.

I've used them too and haven't any complaints. A friend turned me on to
them last year and she orders from them all the time. I preordered from
Amazon because I had gotten a "share the love" discount from a friend who
had preordered. And when I preordered mine, I sent a "share the love"
discount to all my FK fan friends as well.

They don't actually sue... the vendor agreements between the two companies
will have penalties built into it. As far the "big boys" go, Amazon is one
of the more reasonsable companies to do business with.

I haven't seen it listed at DeepdiscountDVD again, but they are
honoring the $22.06 price. You can call them and order it. Order
number: COL001291. They told me I would get no e-mail confirmation or
be able to check my order on-line. I don't see my order on-line, but
I did get a confirmation e-mail.
Someone said that they were rude to her when she called. I am
repeatedly accused of being rude on the phone, so I was bracing
myself for it. I found the gentleman I talked to a bit brusk until he
finally said he had two people on hold and would I wait. When he came
back, in a surprisingly short time, he was quite friendly.
I think they must not have many people answering the
phone...especially if they do most of their business on line. I know
I hated it when I had two or three people holding and felt I should
be helping all of them THEN. Sigh.

Thanks to all the e-mails here about possible changes in price for the
FK DVDs, I've just ordered a set at bn.com, where the price is still
$24.99. I'm hoping to get the DVDs at this price even if the site does
hike the price in the future. If they do honor it, I'll see how much
the stores sell it for and maybe get my sister a copy there for
Christmas, to help boost the retail sales figures. If bn reneges, I'll
probably still get one copy, but it'll be in the store instead of from them.
When I pre-ordered the (Region 2) DVDs of "The Invisible Man" first
season, the site I ordered from listed them for 16.99 pounds, but
changed to 33.99 pounds a few days after I got the confirmation email.
They honored their original price when they sent me the DVDs.
(Speaking of Region 2, I think I'll go order "Spooks" series 1, aka
"MI-5," which apparently has almost 15 minutes more per eppy than A&E is
showing....and we thought FK got hacked up! I'm *so* happy my DVD
player turned out to be one that could play multi-region!)
On another note, anyone want to try to organize some viewing parties
when the DVDs come out? I actually have enough furniture to have a few
Chicagoland people over now. I remember driving up to Chicagoland from
Champaign, back before I moved, for several FK parties a few years ago,
including one where one of Janette's outfits made a special guest
appearance. :-)

Two points, here.
1 Does anyone else think that Andrew MacFadyen of 'Spooks' reminds them of a
younger Nigel Bennett (with dark hair)?
2 So far it seems that the FK DVDs are only Region 1. Not only that, but
being Sony/Columbia Tri-star they are likely to be RCE which means that even
multi-region DVD players might not be able to play them. I've e-mailed Sony UK
about a Region 2 release, but have had no reply. Just a thought for anyone
outside North America.

Also, I *still* owe two people dubs of Once A Thief's "Drive She Said." I know
I've posted this 3 or 4 or 5 times and gotten their addresses, but once again I

Just FYI, if you have a DVD-ROM with your computer, there's a way to enable
it to play multi-region discs. I don't have the info handy, but if type in a
search on google, you'll find the steps fairly easily.
