Hi all. Sorry if this is slightly off topic, but McL said it was ok.

I have a few FK-related items that need a good home. Nothing spectacular, but I
would prefer they to someone who can use them for a charity auction.

If anyone is interested in these items for a charity auction, please drop me a
note off list.

thanks,

Sue

actually I have a couple of charities that could use some money raising, one
is Amigos de las Americas, (www.amigoslink.org) and one is the Humane Society
(in conjuction with someone who has donated a copy of something that does not
exist). If you are interested.. Let me know. I would be very happy to run it
as an auction on ebay.

I'm c&ping from Amazon.com here. THEY say it's the whole first season
with ALL the episodes. I'm hoping they're the ones who are right. I
don't mind paying more if the price was misquoted, but I'd really like
to get everything and not just what someone else has decided are the 15
best episodes, ya know?

From the description on amazon.com:
DVD Features:
Includes the complete first season: 22 episodes on five discs

Full-screen format

Number of discs: 5

I preordered two copies from deepdiscountdvd.com when that website was first
mentioned on this list. I just called them asking in general if they would
honor the lower price. The guy was like what's the title, and i was like why
can't you just answer me in general? i found them to be highly RUDE and
unwilling to help. Just thought i'd share my experience for those you who are
considering ordering from them and haven't yet.

Didn't see this post, so am trying again:

Unfortunate as this may be, I'm having to sell two more shooting scripts on
Ebay. "Dead of Night" is unsigned. "Ashes to Ashes" is signed by Nigel
Bennett and Larry Lalonde. Signatures and scripts are ORIGINALS - not copies.

Also, Re; the DVD price - that's the sell-through. Granted, it means that
a lot of people won't be able to afford those disks, but it also means that
a lot of people WILL. If the disks don't get purchased, there won't be a
second or 3rd season on DVD. If there is interest in the disks, they'll
make it happen . . . and they might try to throw on some extras as well.

I just heard from DeepDiscountDVD on my pre-order of two sets of FK. They
said they will honor the pre-order price, and that I will get my DVDs. This
is good news for those who ordered through DDDVD, and hopefully any of the
other on-line stores. Keep your fingers crossed. ;-)

, I do NOT think that was anything other than a mistake on someone's part
because otherwise Sony would have the MERCHANTS angry at them (it is a big
pain to notify all the pre-orders of the change, and then change the
websites). The merchants are the ones supplying the DVDs to the fans, they
are the ones placing the initial orders ...

I agree. I don't think it was deliberate However that aside I do think
the mistake makes Sony look grossly incompetent and if I were one of the
merchants who listed it at the wrong price I would be simply furious with
them.

However having said that much if I remember correctly a lot of people
questioned the price when it first came out and commented that it sounded
a little too good to be true.

I know I throughly expected to have to spend more for it and had
already decided that I would buy it and give it to my mother to give to
me as a Christmas present.

Yes, my thoughts exactly. We finally have gotten the DVDs we've always
wanted. Let's not spoil our chances to get the other 2 seasons. Sells are
very important both online and offline (like at Best Buy). The DVD set will
not be the full $79.95 price anyhow. It will be on sale for $50-$60 at most
places. I've never seen DVD sets at their full retail price. There's always
a discount. Dvdplanet.com shows an example of this already ($55 on sale).
Quite affordable.

I was just reading next week's TV Guide. There was an article on an
ESPN series about an NFL-like football team and they mentioned that some
scenes were being shot at "Toronto's Fluid Lounge" If I remember
correctly, The Fluid Lounge is the current name for the club that was
used for The Raven. I couldn't help but think that those football
players would definitely *not* be the strongest people in that bar if
any of the FK vamps were still hanging around :-)

Actually, this kind of thing happens with surprising frequency. I get a
couple of home video industry trade magazines and I noticed when I was reading one
last night that they have a big chunk of a page devoted to pricing changes,
corrections, release date alterations, and cancelations of previously announced
DVDs and VHS.

Which brings up another point...whether termed a trilogy or not, Sony will
cancel the other two seasons if they don't sell enough of season one to make it
worth their while, and if there weren't enough preorders (I'm guessing that
this is NOT a problem for FK, so don't get upset when I say this!) they would
even cancel the one they've already announced. I would again remind everyone of
Tracker...it was announced, priced, offered up for preorder, then canceled
for lack of interest. I'm sure this won't be a problem for FK season one, and I
doubt it will be much of an issue for the other two seasons either, but I
just wanted to mention that it absolutely does happen.

There's a good chance that Amazon won't up the price on those who have
already pre-ordered even if they end up adjusting the price on new orders.
If Amazon and Sony do business in the same manner as Amazon and the company
I work for, there's a signed purchase order for the reduced price that Sony
has to honor. In addition to that, if Sony provided Amazon with the wrong
product description causing a misadvertising of the product (such as 22
episodes vs. 15 episodes), Amazon can hit Sony with some hefty vendor
non-compliance chargebacks.

I've noticed that too with just DVDs I've pre-ordered. Constantly being
pulled, then re-offered at a different price or a different release date.

My big question, and maybe you can find out, is "Is it the FULL first season,
or not." I don't hold with them meaning in the pre-advertisement that first
season contains "15 of the finest" episodes and the rest aren't the finest.
Hype should be that EVERY episode is the finest. Is the 15 a typo, or are we not
getting all the episodes?

Someone else mentioned that the "big boys" like Amazon could sue Sony if they
didn't stick with the advertised information.

Seems like I had another question, but I just woke up and my mind hasn't.
hahaha.

In any case, I'm not worried about there not being enough orders for the
other two seasons to be released either.

From another list I learned that the original Nick Knight movie was released
as Midnight Cop outside the US. And it's cover is very different! It has a
large picture of Michael Nader vamped out, taking up much of the cover. A
smaller picture of Rick Springfield, his head tossed back in agony below and to
the side of Michael's and it has Rick's name in bigger letters by Nader's pic.
Then both names on top of Midnight Cop. I can't read the German. Across
the top it says - Nur einer kann den Wahnsinn stoppen! And the line further
down says In der Hauptrolle Rockstar Rick Springfield.

Was it ever called Midnight Cop in the US? Or Canada?

If anyone can put up the picture, let me know and I'll send it on.

They may have intended to call it 'Midnight Cop' in English, as well, but
there's another movie by that name that was made in 1988 (a year before Nick
Knight was released), so they had to change the name.

Amazon does post reviews of old, VHS versions of shows on the pages with new
DVD releases--but do they post reviews from folks who can't have seen the
