If anyone's interested, TV Guide is running an article
about this special in their latest issue...it's next
weeks, the one with Willie Nelson on the cover (as
opposed to this weeks Buffy/Angel cover.)

OK. I went. I morphed into my brother Peter in Texas (who would be
appalled--Cristian broke their TV and they aren't going to fix it for
him to break again) and requested Forever Knight.

I also looked at the shows they apparently already have and
Highlander and Star Trek: TNG are listed, so maybe there is a good
chance of seeing Forever Knight.

I plan to return and tell them I'm myself and request it. If men
'control' what I see on all the other channels, then I demand the
right to express what "I" want to see on a "man's" channel. <G> I'll
just watch the shows I want to see (like Forever Knight and
Highlander).

Would some kind soul point me to a "good" source of information about
'Airwolf'? I'd like to find out about it, and what part Mr. Wyn
Davies had/has in it.

This is a good site for Airwolf season 4 info, etc :

I also have some pictures of the episodes I do have on my Ger site.

Here's the thing- I don't know a single guy who watched the Highlander
series. Oh, I'm sure they're out there, but who's fooling whom? That was a
show watched mainly by women. Granted, I've only seen the internet fandom, but
compared to a show like Stargate, which has a nice mixture of both men and
women, shows like Forever Knight and Highlander was mainly watched by women
<even though they were definitely, supposedly produced for "men.">

Sometimes, my idiocy appalls even me. I'm 49, and I thought
Highlander was for men.

Sigh. I've been feeling secretly guilty for enjoying the show (and
not just Adrian Paul). I also really like Stargate (and not just
Richard Dean Anderson), which probably shows why I like Forever
Knight so much. Good quality, characters, plot, conflict... Sigh.

Could it maybe be that only women have/make the time to post about
these shows, and so it seems that they are mostly watched/enjoyed by
women? Is there really anyway to really tell?
Looking at the people who are enjoy FK, it seems to be mostly women.
I'd really like to hear more from the men...and there are a few here
who write fanfic quite well.

Hey McLisa, isn't there be a list rule against posting this kind of stuff
before noon! <G> Or how about a list rule against turning the birthday
announcements into these horrific Screed and LC images without the
permission of the birthday announcer (me) or the birthday honoree! No?
Well, there oughta be! <BG>

I watched the first airing....it reminded me of
several eps. I was reminded somewhat of Nick's drug
withdrawl in The Fix when he was switching between
personalities...the end is really like SoB.....that
deep, creepy voice. I also kept thinking "Hypercube"
for some reason.

And yes there are several scenes where I expected his
fangs to pop out.

I can just see Nick getting called to the scene when
he's killing someone and everyone getting way confused
"Whoa, two Nicks..." I could see either Nick or LC if
he was around wondering what was in that last
bloodwine....hehe. Fic anyone?

Hm....Maybe the Barnes half is kinda what Dark Nick
would be like.

Both my brothers have watched and enjoyed *both* Highlander and Forever Knight.
Then again, they're about as atypical as I am. On the other hand, most of the
women I know would rather watch Friends or some such, so I guess that makes us
ALL pretty atypical. Just because we're not in the majority doesn't mean we
can't get things done our way once in a while!

I'd say don't judge a show by the online fandom - otherwise, "I don't know
any women who watch sports" is just as true. And yeah, as someone
suggested, I think women tend to come on and talk with each other more
about the shows. Even shows that you'd think would be primarily
male-watched (say, the Gundam series) seem to have more females online
talking about it (and writing fic that gets the characters doing things
never even HINTED at in the show with each other.... um, like baking
bread... yeah, that's it.) :)

pthppt. Women *are* (barely) the majority (US, 51.1% of total population,
yr. 2000 data.) And average a longer life span. Even without vampiric
help. :)

no less. What a thing to have in ones head at 6:30 in

Actually, my dad watched it every time it came on. It was the one thing we
didn't argue about. When it was on, our house was quiet.

Hmm...I don't remember either of my parents watching
either show when it was on first-run. Now, my mom said
she was starting to like FK....hehe, it took a while,
but it happened...and I think she just puts up with HL
lol. She thinks me and the show are wierd.

Yeah. I can't get an image of the pink tutu I had 45 years ago--with
little gold stars on the top layer. I was soooo proud of it, and
Lacroix would look....well, less than proud...I just can't decide if
he'd be wearing black or pink tights and shoes...
Sheeesh. No wonder I couldn't get to sleep last night.

Ummm. Listmommy, does that count as two quotes, neither being over 4
lines, or am I in trouble for quoting 7 lines?

I was most impressed by two things that I finally figured out may not
be what I thought.
I like that he could write backwards (on the mirror?)...then I
realized that might not be his actual work. Someone on the crew may
have done it.

Also, at one point he was on a rooftop (I think) and was running
along with a sword in hand, when he put his head down, and a second
later looked up as someone totally different. It didn't dawn on me
until much later that they could have yelled cut and taped it in
several takes. Does anyone know? (Personally, after seeing some of
his other roles, I think Mr. Wyn Davies could probably have quite
easily done it straight through.)

My dad watched Highlander from the beginning, along with Hercules and Xena.
He only watched a couple of eps of Forever Knight, though.
