But that has spawned some fun fanfic to explain exactly what he meant!
I explained it away in one of mine ("Good Help is Hard to Find") as
referring to a brawl between opposing soccer hooligans in an pub in
Hastings that aristotle instigated just for the fun of it.

I think this might be the clincher for the fic I'm
doing....it involves Nick getting struck by lightning
and becoming mortal (I figured the massive jolt would
do a lot more than what he got in LNMTA)but also
smacking his head hard on the pavement. I couldn't
decide whether to just have him dream LK or do the
whole third season, but I think this decided it for
me.

I saw a commercial for a new horror movie when I was watching the
Batman reunion special last night, which was absolutely hilarious, btw.
The movie ad featured lots of rats, and I couldn't help but think of
Screed.

I can't remember the name of the movie off the top of my head, but I
think it's Warren or Warner or something like that. It looked very
cheesy. <g>

I would have LaCroix bring Natalie across.
Then have Nick and Nat get married, however LaCroix
would be a very large part of their lives,
Nat has a lot to learn.

As to where they will live. I'd like to see them
travel around Europe. Can you imagine the flashback
possibilities.

A dream might be ok for a single episode
but probally for the whole series

There are still people bitter over the "DALLAS ending"

Also in any last episode, they try not to compleatly close everything
they leave 1 or 2 things open, in case they can bring the series back

maybe Nick could become reincarnated like francheska
or become a ghost/poltergist like "sons of balil"

I'd probably keep things the same UP until Last Knight with a few changes.
Tracy pulled the stake out of Vachon, so I'm not so sure he's dead. Maybe
very injured, dangerously so.

Another change I'd have, or add to the end of the series, is to sort of
resurrect Screed without taking away the power of his death (or at least add
him into flashbacks). How? Have Vachon desperately giving Screed the
lifesaving vaccine although for all appearances he's gone. Maybe he even
buries him. The thing is, the vaccine works to a degree - Screed's not
"dead." However, he is a carrier of the virus and can no longer bite (aka
have sex) with another vampire without spreading the disease. He was an
outsider as a carouche, and now it is even worse. It'd be interesting to see
how Vachon dealt with this, how Nick would. Screed also doesn't return to
full strength. Although I can see Natalie trying to explain to Screed there'd
be no more "fiesty vampiric wenches" in his future as humorous, the rest
would be touching. (Shoot, maybe I'll write that as a fanfic someday)

I'd probably have the main characters get out of Toronto, but for some sort
of humorous reason.... Maybe Nick's vampirism is discovered to the point he
has vampire wanna be fanboys/gals outside his loft's door. Maybe no one
REALLY believes this, but it is to the point he can no longer do his job due
to the "rumors." (Oh, and the threat of Enforcers) Basically, he's forced to
move on and LaCroix follows. Perhaps LaCroix even adds to the situation
through his radio show. It doesn't sound as funny in this paraphrase as I
imagine it... Anyway, Natalie (to LaCroix's disdain) goes with them or
promises to keep trying for a cure with Nick promising to contact her as soon
as he can. (Shoot, maybe the rumors even include HER as a vampire!)

I'd also allow Reese to finally get revenge on the water cooler - perhaps in
a secluded field with his pistol. hehehehe.

I don't know if I'd bring Schanke back, although if I did it'd probably be as
a vampire. Maybe he survived the crash, only to be drained by Vachon who
needed the blood for his own strength. (There'd be the trouble of Schanke's
body but....) However, I would somehow work Schanke into flashbacks, along
with Cohen.

Delurking to _completely_ agree with McLisa. I have to admit that I haven't even
watched the last several episodes of season three. I have them on tape but I

I don't think anyone would/could bite Schanke
If they did they'd get a hevey dose of "souvlaki poisioning"

I know how bad my dust allergies are
I'd be interested to see how a vampire would handle
getting a dose of souvlaki in-vetro, given the vampire "alleregy" to garlic

If I could change the ending of "Last Knight" this is how it would go (this
episode would have never even happened if USA network had not made the
changes they did in season 3):

The episode would basically have the same premise, but the big changes would
be after Nick bites Natalie. LaCroix knows that Nick does not want to see
Natalie become a vampire and also knows that Nick can't just let her die.
Since Nick's an emotional mess, LaCroix doesn't bother with lecturing him
further and rushes Natalie to the hospital, getting her a transfusion to
save her life. Afterwards, he returns to the loft suffering minor burns
since the sun was starting to rise. Nick is still a mess, but is quickly
calmed after he knows Natalie will be ok. He finally agrees to move on with
LaCroix (if Natalie had not come to the loft as such an emotional wreck, he
may have done this in the first place). LaCroix picks Paris as their home
once again where they meet up with Janette. She has reaffirmed the vampire
in her and is very happy to see Nick again. With the help of his vampire
family, Nick finally recovers for the most part from his recent losses. He
accepts himself as he is, a good person and "vampire," and Nick and Janette
fall in love all over again...

Here' my two cents...

I would have had Enforcers coming in to stop Lacroix from killing Nick. The
Enforcers bring Nat across "for her medical services" during the Fever.

Then they would have the newly-made vamp Natalie judge what to do with Nick.
This "trial" in the two-hour special would probably have lots of flashback
opportunity - enabling those who missed season 1 & 2 - to figure out the
important bits of Nick's story.

Anyway...at the end of the trial - Nat forgives Nick - thereby showing him
that forgiveness and humanity are not exclusive to humans.

They all left town to find Janette and lived happily ever after...

The power of Forever Knight is, for me, the search. The search for
humanity, the search for redemption, the search for self-acceptance... and
the search for freedom from an overbearing sire.

To do anything that would bring that search to an end would, to me (and
did) invalidate the power of the series.

So I would choose a regular one-hour episode, about one of the usual
themes. Perhaps it might be on the themes of forgiveness and
self-acceptance, where Nick is taught a lesson in both... but as is usual
for Nick, manages to forget it or negate it by episode's end, leaving him
still searching.

I agree with this to. Well maybe not necessarily a dream, per se.
But maybe like a C&C thing. Not to say that Tracy, et all don't
exist. Nick probably came across Tracy during his time as a Toronto
cop, and I'm sure through the years he came across Vachon and Screed,
so they would be in his head, and therefore can come out as parts of
a fantasy.
I would love to see it all be a 'dream' and wake up to see Schanke,
and even perhaps meet up with Tracy and everyone.

I whole-heartedly agree with this. I think that is why in my
previous post, I would have it be some kind of fantasy. I don't
think I really want Nick to find an end to his quest. That is what
the series was all about, his quest.
Like in Fanfic, I do read and actually enjoy the stories about Nick
becoming human, marrying Nat, etc, but I always find myself a bit
dissapointed. Like, "he did it, that's it, story's over"

Hi Y'all!

All the talk about the third season or the final ep being a dream
inspired the following (with tongue firmly planted in cheek)<G>

Toronto is really the land of Oz. Nick is Dorothy. Natalie is the
Wizard of Oz. Nat tells Nick to click his heels three times and chant,
"There's nothing like being human." Nick wakes up and sees that he's
back in his own home with Fleur and his mother standing over him. He
looks around and sees various people who work for the family estate
including LaCroix, Vachon, Jeanette, Natalie, Schanke, the three
captains, Urs, Screed, Tracy and all the rest. He tells them about the
land of Toronto and how he saw all of them there! He goes on to say
that all he kept telling everyone was that he wanted to be human and that
there were some very nasty people in Toronto. But now he's back where he
belongs and he'll never drink blood again. <G>

That's all I can come up with now. Do what you will with this.

Nick and Nat, either as a mortal or a vampire, go down
to Port Charles and join forces with Ian and the girl
he's with to continue the search for a cure.

Sorry couldn't resist...been watching that lately and
I think of Nick and Nat every time I see those two. It
was also brought on by someone's suggestion that
they're somewhere else under new names looking for a
cure. I'm gonna do a fic about it one of these days.

I agree with not ending the show....at least we could
write our own endings. Bringing her over also wouldn't
be so bad because at least they'd still have hope for
a cure. They could just move on and keep looking. I've
also got a fic about that I'm partway through at the
moment.

I think there's also a fic somewhere in the invitro
garlic poisoning thing. Also, how about if one of our
vamps snacked on someone who was drunk or worse, high?
There's a lot of potential there. I'm not sure I'd
want to see LaCroix in a drunk mood, (I'd be afraid
he'd get mean)but maybe some of the others. Hm....how
about drunk Screed for the Ratpackers? I could *so*
see a fic set in the '60's with someone getting high.

If you need a caffine fix, I'll send you some. Sometimes I feel like Nick's
twin. Figure that. Stay safe.

Actualy, I know how that can go....I always get a
picture of Nick singing to LaCroix when I hear the
song 'I want to Break Free' on my Queen CD (only got
it because of the Highlander songs). It makes me think
of that humor fic with Nick doing the lounge/strip
act...forgot the name.

I feel like I'm Nick. Someone always trying to control me, family and
friends dying all around me and I can't stop it. I have a life but it feels
like I exist but not living it to the fullest like I should. But I'm okay,
I guess. I need more caffine. Stay safe.

How much do you figure a vampire would weigh, in comparison to a mortal? With
all the punishment they can take (not to mention give out) you'd think that at
the very least they would have super-dense bones or something.
