The space is uuh...to store knocked out 6 foot+ vamps for later torture and
make 'em tell on their master vampires? (Not a very smart idea IMHO if the
master vamp is The General)

When you see a bumper sticker that says "There is a vampire in my trunk.'
And you think of Nick and his caddy.

Just thinking about this thursday 10/31

Do vampires do anything special for halloween?
Its the only day they can act weird & be normal
At the police station, when they have their halloween party
Does nick put on those plastic vamp fangs & play along?
or does he hide in the corner & pretend not to notice
Maybe Nick can go as the wolf man,
Vachon can be a biker and screed can be a hobo

Schanke would probally be his favorite poka player
Would Natalie want to be a princess or a ballet dancer?

Let me say that I am more of a lurker than a poster.
I've decided to de-clock to ask the following.
Is it me or does it seem that FK is losing steam?
Has RL taken over for everyone? I get the feeling less and
less people are posting. That there aren't as many authors
writing. That fans are losing interest.
I haven't lost interest.
In fact my interest is stronger than ever. I love reading the
Fan Fiction stories. It's what keeps the series fresh and alive
for me.

I also would like to know if the following stories have
been finished or will be finished. I think they are wonderfully
written, but they have left me hanging.

A Common Need
Part 38/?
By Christine Hantzopulos Hunt

Edge of a Broken Heart 6/?
FancyKnight313

DARK REDEMPTION (16/20)
by Sebastian Dante Giovanni

Amenra (1/?)
Julie Randolph
and
Something in Common(2/?)
Julie Randolph

K. C. Smith
When Darkness Falls Part 49/?

Jaded part 1/?
Paula Lewis

Lonely Hearts(6/??)
Melissa Lewis

Out Of The Broomcloset (3/?)
By Aviva Blumenthal

I understand that RL and unforeseen circumstances
interfere. I just want to know if they will be continued
or finished.

Hi Everyone:

Well, the "Forever Knight" email message does
raise some interesting questions....

Oftentimes when a show's been off the air a
while, the fandom loses steam and people move
onto other fandoms.

I don't think that's the case here. We're still
a passionate group of fans.

As for the posting stuff--yeah, I have to admit
that I would like to see those stories completed
that you mentioned. (This is why I never post a
story before it's finished in case RL waylays
me....) I'm sure those stories will be finished
at some point.

You know though, one reason I started writing my
own fic series was the situation we find
ourselves in...I was running out of scifi novels
to read (before--way before the Internet). So, I
tried writing and liked it...and almost 70
stories later, here I am. :)

Perhaps some folks who haven't written one might
try to write a piece--spark some messages and get
a discussion going again.

In the meantime, there are other forums out there
for FK fic. There's the FKfanfic2 group on
Yahoogroups and of course, the Ravenawards with
lots of good stuff. Fanfiction.net (in spite of
their recent censorship) has great stuff. On top
of that, don't most factions have their own story
lists too?

Speaking for myself, I don't post here anymore
because my writing evolved to where I was
constrained by the rules. No offense to McLisa
or Don, this is their list and I understand the
limitations that being on an academic server can
impose from my RL job. However, I have started
including other fandoms (re: Mutant X,
Smallville) in my crossovers that would break the
rules. So, I post to fkfanfic2, the fkfanatics,
and my own Dubois list in addition to the other
fandom groups instead of here. However, I do
enjoy reading everyone's work that is posted here
and always will. :)

(Recruiting for the Knight, as we all know, is
never done and is a labor of love. <g>)

Once again, I would urge you to stay the course
with this awesome fandom that we're in. Just
take a peek around and see what's going on in
addition to this list. I think you might be
pleasantly surprised to see some activity going
on. :)

Thanks. Write on, gang!

Sincerely,

David

This was suppose to go to the list and when it didn't drop, I realized it just
went back the original poster... oopsie!

Really?

I've noticed a distinct increase in on-line FK fandom activity since FK
started reairing on Sci Fi again. More posts per day, more stories posted,
more on-line discussion, more fans signing up for my FK related lists.

I don't think that FK is losing steam. As for posting, I do occassionally
check my mail at work, but can't look at it all day long -- plus we do have the
post limits here. I think if the post limits went away, or were higher (like 7
or 8 instead of just 5 per day), we'd have more traffic.

As for writing, I have a WIP. I also write for other fandoms including Lois &
Clark and Spider-man, and Star Trek, but while I've been posting fewer fanfics,
they are getting longer. When I first started writing fanfiction several years
ago, my stories averaged about 10-15 pages at most. Now, they average 30-40
pages and take over a month to write.

If I didn't have a day job, I'd probably get more writing done. But I need a
regular paycheck to pay rent so I can have a place to write, and pay for my
telephone and Internet connections. <g> So real life is definitely a time
constraint, but its possible to work around it (evenings & weekends).

Also, as new sci-fi shows appear, many fans are inspired by them and get
interested in those fandoms too. When one is involved in multiple fandoms,
that can also be a time constraint. It doesn't seem to me like anyone's losing
interest, but rather that real life is becoming more of a time constraint as
fans have families, jobs, etc.

I doubt that FK is losing any steam at all! From the emails i recieve for my
KtK projects, to all the wonderful storys posted, not to mention all the
discussion groups and dare i say <G> all the activity that Fk online Wars
generate, it seems as if FK is as strong as ever. :)

Hm...what do you think LaCroix would be?

For some reason, I can't get the image out of my mind
of Nick and LaCroix handing out candy and vamping out
when the kids grab the candy. I don't know why LOL but
it'd be an easy scare tactic. I'm writing a little
humorous piece about it.

Subject: Questions and some comments

1. In the episode 'Dying for Fame' how did they manage
to stage the scene where Nick is sitting in front of
the mirror (during his dream) with the lights blowing
out? It has to be at least a little dangerous and I
can't help wondering how they did that without risking
Ger getting pieces of glass in his back or neck.
(er...it wasn't his stunt double I don't think..am I
wrong?)

2. In the pilot, why didn't Nick whammy the guy he
fell out of the window with? (the one with the machine
gun)

3. In If Looks Coule Kill, why weren't the women
brought over by the vampire blood? I don't get
it....was it just not enough to turn them?

4. Nick was probably too consumed with guilt to think
of this in LK, but wouldn't he still be condemned like
they said in ND if he died?

5. It probably took a while for LaCroix to regenerate,
but wouldn't Nick have felt the connection later on
during the first season? And shouldnt' he have felt a
connection with Elyse (sp?) if she was brought over
since they're siblings?

Now the comment: Now that I've finally seen all the
eps, it does seem to me that the show lost something
third season without Schanke. It seems like what
happened to Due South when they changed Rays....just
like there's something missing. I don't like season 3
as much as the other two because of all the angst.
BTW, did Deborah Duchenne and the guy who played
Stonetree leave the show on their own or did the
creators decide to have them leave...? Just curious.

You're watching Hollywood Scares, Game Show Networks
night of Halloween game shows hosted by Elivra, and
can only think how Janette would make a great Mistress
of the Dark and LaCroix could be Master of the Dark.
Hm...what would Nick be?

You're eating Spaghetti-o's and can't help thinking of
the sauce as blood and the o's as blood cells....wierd
I know but...LOL

In If Looks Could Kill, Janette appears to have
brought the countess over, but didn't she say in IWR
that she never brought anyone over because she
couldn't stop in time?
