I was wondering.  In  the episode Undue Process how much  do you think  Nick
knew or had guessed by the time  he came in at the end?    He had seen the
computer screen at Natalie's apartment.  That was one of the things that
sent him to the lab.  Since  he   has as we well know  excellent hearing  he
  had to  have overheard at least part of  Natalie's and Dr Reston's
conversation.

In  short  do you think he was leaving it  up  to Natalie to decide  what
she wanted to do about Dr. Reston?

In Hunted, "the hunter" sees Nick get shot, and concludes that he's a
vampire. She may have seen him fly too. But why a vampire? Why not a
space alien from, say, the planet Krypton? She didn't see any fangs,
bloodsucking, or stuff like that. Is there something I missed, or is it
time to say "Cheese, please!"

Nick jumped in front of the "would-be" victim hissing and vamped out, right
in front of the hunter. He gets shot instead of the guy she's after, while
she gets a good look at him.

I was riding along with my mom and her friend
Wednesday so I could go to Walmart with
them...normally I either stay home or just come here.
Along the way I saw a buidling with a sign saying
'Rosebud Antiques' I don't know if I could see LaCroix
selling antiques, but I'd think a 2000 year old guy
would be good at it if he did....

Now I'm getting ep-related dreams...I don't mind them,
but did it *have* to be Nat's near-fatal scene from
LNMTA??? *shudder* They were trying to do it to me...

1. Why is it that bullets sometimes go right through
Nick and sometimes lodge? Is it because of his trying
to become human?

2. How did LaCroix come to be called 'Uncle' and get
the 'Cousins'? Just curious.....

3. If Janette became mortal, wouldn't LaCroix have
felt the connection break? He wouldn't have sensed her
unless she were in the city, but there's still the
connection isn't there?

4. What's the take on Nat's reaction at the end of
AMPH? Because she knew that although being brought
over would allow her to be with Nick, she also knew
why he didn't want to do it? Sort of the same stuff as
LN?

3. Did John Kapelos and Natsuko Omaha want to leave
the series or were their characters written out to try
and boost ratings? I've been wondering about that.

No idea. Maybe it hits bone and is slowed down when they lodge, or they lodge
in an organ that although he is a vampire still works to some degree.

Someone else will go into more detail, but it has to do with on-line antics
where someone said someone else was "as mean as a cousin."

I don't know about Natsuko, but the show was cancelled by CBS and maybe she had
other obligations or something when it was picked back up for syndication.

As for John, when USA bought the show for the third season, Schanke was going
to be the captain. From what I heard, John knew that would be less screen time
and probably less interesting. So he left on his own.

Maybe it's the type of bullet...a hollowpoint would
lodge while ball ammunition might pass through.

The story I've heard is that someone admitted to a
phobia (frogs, I think) on list and several
individuals--independent of one another--sent her frog
paraphernalia.  She posted comments to the list
regarding how cruel it was of them to send frogs after
she admitted to a phobia...that they must be cousins
and were probably related to LaCroix.

I would guess that he did sense it...the existence of
a "link" between vampire and son/daughter was
certainly dealt with in the series. Since LC always
seemed to know what Nick was up to, I would guess that
proximity wasn't a factor.

This one is open to interpretation and has certainly
been the subject of much speculation on FORKNI-L. I
thought it was a combination of things, but mostly a
sense of shock that follows in the wake of a "close
call".  She realized how lucky she was to have escaped
being brought across into a life that I don't think
she really wanted.  I think she may also have been
angry with herself for the way she reacted to the
whole asteroid, end-of-the-world scenario. It  may
also have altered her perspective on her relationship
to Nick...she was suddenly confronted with the gulf
that exists between them and probably felt some level
of betrayal at his refusal to bring her over, even
though she conceded that he was right not to. At the
end of the day, I think Natalie realized that a
threshold had been crossed--the possibility of
bringing her across--and there was no going back.  She
couldn't pretend that it hadn't happened, and I think
she was uncomfortable facing Nick in the aftermath.

I think Libby address this one. Although I, too, would
be curious to know if it was Natsuko's decision to
leave or if they just wrote her out.

I'd guess it's for the same reason they sometimes go through anyone
else, and sometimes lodge: how much energy was behind the bullet at that
point in time (short range vs. long range, large vs. small caliber), and
how much resistance was in whatever it hit (bone, belt buckle, badge).

Maybe he did feel the connection break, or weaken, but he wasn't going
to tell Nick about it.
