Awwww... lucky Canadians. Would any of the Canandian folk on the list be
taping it? Or does anyone have a complete set of the Series? i only have a
few on tape and would love to have them all. Hint... Hint...

Not strange at all. What Anita has up is only *PART* of the war. It's only
part because I have the complete war and I promised to put it all in one
big, nice, shiny package for all to gaze upon. However, it was a very wordy
war (typical, really), and as such has taken me longer to get through than
I'd anticipated. Plus, you know, my job comes first -- LaCroix can be a
rather demanding boss.... Am working on it. Really! I swear it will be
done and posted to Anita's fiction site long before we have another war.
Honest.

I second that emotion, Diane!

It has only been about a year since I've been in that area (Naturally, I was
conducting a filming sites tour, of course :-) ), so unless there has been a
massive yuppification / gentrification / etc. over the past 12 months
(unlikely - unless the developers intend to move some former Prime
Minister's office there :-) :-) ), I strongly doubt that that area can
demand that kind of money ($336,000 for 1500 sq ft - geez!).

The area isn't really the greatest, either. Although not decrepit by any
stretch of the imagination, I don't think that I'd want to be walking around
alone late at night. There's really a lot that would need to happen before
this area could demand that kind of coin.

Also, the area isn't even downtown - it's across the Don River (somebody
throw a brick at me please if I got that wrong) from the far, far eastern
part of what could even loosely be considered downtown. (See how much I'm
hedging that...trust me, it's not downtowm)

Heck, my mom got a condo right in the heart of downtown for the 180's and I
myself picked up a condo right near Spadina and Bloor (in the University of
Toronto area, only a few "kilos" north and west from the heart of downtown
itself) in the early 1990's for just over $80,000 (okay, it's a 600 sq feet
"junior one bedroom", mind you, but still!), so I just don't see $336,000
that far out of downtown.

My advice to anyone wanting to buy there is to insist on an independent
appraisal! But, since the condos haven't even been built yet, that's
probably impossible. I'm hoping that the silence from the sales reps'
phones will be deafening enough to motivate them to improve the price
somewhat - probably by at least 60-65% if not more!!

Subject: Ger's final week in My Fair Lady

Hi all!

Next Saturday Ger's run as Henry Higgins in the Stratford Festival's
"My Fair Lady" comes to an end. Many fans have been able to enjoy the
show (and some more than once!). Ger was pleased by the many messages
sent in the past two guestbooks (given to him for the opening and for
"Do Not Go Gentle") so we can't resist giving him one for his
closing. You can access the guestbook from our web site
(www.gwdfc.org - click on the link on the left) or directly at
http://pub40.bravenet.com/guestbook/show.php?usernum=3430695448 .

If you'll be in Toronto next Tuesday or Thursday: WILD DOGS, a movie
in which Ger plays a "dot-com-porn guy" will be shown as part of the
Toronto International Film Festival.

The movie will be shown at 9:30 PM Tuesday (September 10) at the
ISABEL BADER Theatre and Thursday (September 12) at 9:45 AM
CUMBERLAND 2 theatre. Advanced single tickets to Festival screenings
can be purchased only at the Public Box Office located at the Toronto
Eaton Centre, Level One, Dundas Mall. If seats remain available
tickets may be purchased one hour prior to a showing. There is no way
to order tickets to individual showing by phone.
