I'd probably at least "give a try to" either a show based on FK with new
characters or a recasting of the original IF the actors did not want to come
back (I suspect some might, whereas others wouldn't).

McLisa used the example of Dark Shadows 1991 as one where recasting didn't work.
I respectfully take the opposite view. I LOVED it. I'm a Willie Loomis fan so
had my doubts as to that character, but I actually liked the newer one even
better. ALthough the stories were the same, I probably, overall, liked both
versions equally as did my friends - many of whom adored the old series and were
initially against a new one.

But tastes vary so I can understand someone NOT liking it.

I also wouldn't object to one based in the FK universe. Perhaps even some of the
minor characters who still physically suit their roles could be the basis, or at
least recurring characters. Even with an entirely new cast, I think it could
work. I disagree with the person who said STNG was story driven. A large number
of the stories were, but some episodes were very character driven. Most good
shows are a mixture of both sorts of episodes to one extent or another. To me, I
like a balance. Interesting characters won't keep a show watchable if there's
not good stories. And the best writing in the world won't "save" a show if the
characters are incredibly boring (or the acting bad).

I'd certainly give any sort of FK "revival" a chance - and more than a few
episodes at that. There's been some revivals in which I didn't like the
premiere, but decided to give it another week or two, or even a season, and
ended up loving it.

I like to think that Miklos is mortal, perhaps a thrall, or a gypsy given a
long life in exchange for some service rendered to the Community.

Hey! We've got cowboys and Indians! ....pause... Yeah, it just doesn't
work the same as thousands of years of history.

Waaah... I'm jealous.

I swear he's mortal. Take Janett's comment in Dark Knight part 1. "By
barender thinks I'm a lush..." This goes to Miclos' character, showing that
he's mortal and not a vampire. Anyone else concurr with mine and KC Smith?

I am looking for Debi McK. Victor Roscetti, dragon lair's
voice of LaCroix, has done a clip of one of her poems on
the LaCroix page:
http://mywebpages.comcast.net/dragonslair1/
upon my request. Now we need to know if it's ok with her.

By the way, this poem is amazing and Vic has done a great
job reading it in LaCroix's voice. Check it out, you'd
love it.

Sunny

You know, I never thought of this, but you're right. And if you think about
it, if they would have just waited a little longer before introducing the
whole FK thing now, the show might not have been cancelled after three
seasons. But then we may not have had the same people on the show as were on
it.

As for how people would feel about a new spin off series from Forever
Knight. Some people would love the idea and some people would hate it. You
never know. Look at Star Trek. The first series was cancelled, I think. And
then The Next Generation came along and it was terrible at first. It pains
me to watch quite a few of the early episodes. And then it got great ( I
know, some of you don't think so, but everyone's got their own tastes).

A spin-off could work at this point in time, because of all the other shows
dealing with the supernatural on TV. But then there's the issue of, would
the creator of FK want to come back and create a new series, how would they
frame it, yadda yadda ya. It's a delicate thing to do. In the right hands, a
new series could be great, and in the wrong hands, it could just be
disappointing. But there are so many ways to go with it (As is obvious with
all the comments on the new series thing).

I'll tell you what though, if someone out there said, "we're going to try
doing a spin off of the new series" I would not turn my head. It would at
least be nice to see someone try.

anyways, just me rambling again. =0D

Hi Sunny,

I'm Debi. Long ago, in a galaxy far away, I used my real name for fic
writing; then, when I started writing a little more, I figured I might
not want my family and friends finding out what a warped person I am... <g>

I just checked out Vic's page (he has an *amazing* voice), and I'm more
than happy for my poem to be there. I'm floored that somebody actually
read the thing three years after I wrote it, and incredibly flattered
that you think it's good enough to do this to.

Cheers,

Lor
