I just want to be clear that when I said I made allowances, I did not mean I
wouldn't nopost subscribers who make unprovoked attacks on other subscribers
onlist. It's just that the onlist responses to [Name removed by request] were imho
understandable and under provocation.

I am posting this to the list Lisa's permission. She also said if you want to
talk to her about it she can be reached offlist at mclisa@m.......

I have upgraded my Paypal account to a Premier account. That means you can go
to Paypal and make a payment using a credit card. Before I could only accept
payments if you had an account with Paypal and had a balance with them. This
will make it easier for people to donate money to K.C., especially if you live
out of the country. It will get to her faster this way. Once I receive a
payment I will forward it on to K.C. by a check or money order. One person who
doesn't live in the states has already done this. I will be sending a momey
order out tomorrow to K.C. in her name.

My paypal account is the same as my email.

stephke@i.......

My name on the account is

M Stephanie Kellerman

Make sure you put in that it is for K.C. (although that will be a given as I
don't sell anything to get money for anything anyway) Also, you can put a
message, if you like, in the comments section and I will add that to the check
or money order when I send it.

And thanks for everyone's help.

Gentle litsibs, I herewith issue a challenge: come up with
the story of how Tall, Pale and Menacing could possibly
be dragged to the city of tacky signs and wasted water.

Having issued the challenge, I of course have to answer
it myself. My offering has just been posted to FKFIC-L.

Subject: List for Forever Knight AND Buffy The Vampire Slayer fans

I'm getting some inquiries again about my yahoogroups list for FK fans who
also like Buffy the Vampire Slayer so thought I'd post the info again. Most
of us are fans of Spike from BTVS (well, I am but I absolutely adore Dru -
but then, again, would you expect a Ratpacker to go with the flow). Of course
it does NOT matter who your favorite characters are.

Most of the conversation does center around BTVS, but we've had some
wonderful discussions comparing the FK universe to BTVS, and LaCroix to
Spike, and Angel to Nick, for that matter.

Fanfic is allowed, and right now we are having a bad poetry writing contest
in honor of Spike having been a very bad poet in his mortal days.

So if you enjoy the maturity (okay, well, usually friendly and mature)
atmosphere of the FK lists, feel free to join us at:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FKSpiked/

I know there's a number of specific fk lists on yahoogroups too, that are run
by wonderful people here. Mine include:

Ratpackers
gregkramerfanklub
TheCrew (for the third season vampires)
Lacroixsforum (a really wacky atmosphere for LaCroix fans!)
FKfanshug (a prayer list for people of ANY religion to help fellow FK fans)

Hmmm... I'm sure there's others. Why don't other listowners of FK lists name
their offerings... We have some new people here who might not be able to get
enough!

You mean, such as the Fodery, also at Yahoogroups, for the fans of Don
Schanke? We could use some new blood on the list. It's been way too
quiet lately.

(You know, considering all the vampires around, maybe new blood isn't
the best phrase for Our Don. New Garlic? New Souvlaki? New pair of Hip
Waders? ;-)

I'm one of the listmods on FKp-l, the list for FK fans who are pagan or who
are interested in pagan beliefs and traditions. I'm a non-mod member of the
celtic_glowworm list -- a discussion group for those of us who are of
Celtic descent or who are interested in Celtic traditions and FK (the
"glowworm" bit is because many of us are of pale complexion).

There are also a couple of groups for the writing and/or discussion of FK

Thank you, McLisa.
KC knows nothing of this. I don't want to upset her.
Mostly my response was an emotional one. I have not been getting a lot
of sleep, as I am usually the one to stay up with KC through the night,
so Paul and the kids can rest for work/school. I have taken a one month
leave from my job (I'm self employed, so that wasn't hard to do), and
have assigned my usual clients over to other people for this month. Since
I am not sleeping much, I have been overly sensitive and extremely
emotional. The strain this is placing on me doesn't help, either.
Paul insists that I take Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays off for
myself, since he does not want me to burn out. So we take turns caring
for KC.
Here is the most recent non-financial update on KC: She is in constant
pain, and is taking Darvocet. She absolutely refuses anything stronger,
since she says that it would make her miss too much precious time with
her family. She has a hard time holding food down, so the doctor is
prescribing an anti-emetic (anti-nausea drug) for her. We should get that
from the Home Care Nurse tomorrow.
Her spirits are very high, and she looks pretty good (except for the dark
circles under her eyes). She is ambulatory, so she does not need help
with basics like going to the bathroom, or taking showers (we put a
shower stool in for her to use). She can not sit for very long periods of
time, so she stays in bed.
I have been printing out all the stories posted to the list, or saving
them to disk and letting her use my notebook computer, so she is reading
all of them. Unfortunately, I don't have the time (or energy) to reply to
all of them for her. Just know that she IS reading them and she LOVES
them!
KC got her hair cut really short today, in preparation for losing it all
during her treatment. It looks really cute on her! I told her she should
wear it like that all of the time and she said, "I will, if you will."
<Sigh> Sometimes being a twin is a nightmare!!
Well, this is long enough. KC is pacing again, so I will go now, to tend
to her.
THANK YOU! to everyone that sent me encouraging e-mails and support
through the chaos last night. I really appreciated it!
God bless you all. I will update you as I can.

Subject: A long overdue post

Fellow listmembers,
I had wanted to say a few things to everyone a few months ago when people were
discussing the various reasons they stayed on this list. I was so far behind
in posts that I never put in my two cents. I think now is a good a time as
any.

In those posts people talked about the great, intelligent discussions that we
have here, the camaraderie with people who care about the same show/characters,
or friends they've made here, among other reasons why many of us have stayed
here so long.

I joined this list shortly after I was hooked to the show in February 1998
(can't believe it will be 4 years soon!). For nearly a year now, though, I've
kept to lurking here; I rarely read fanfic, unless one is recommended onlist
and is short enough (a dissertation is not conduce to fanfic reading or
writing, or having a life in general). In fact, FK isn't really a big part of
my life anymore. I don't watched my taped shows. I don't know when I'll get
back to the half dozen stories I started years ago (hoping to when I finish
school). Ok, my computer still has a few sound bites from the show. But
really, this list is my main connection to FK.

Why have I stayed on here when I've kinda moved on from FK? That's simple.
You. This list is a wonderful community of people. I haven't been on any
non-fk (tv-related) lists. I don't belong to any other fandoms. But from what
I hear, we're spoiled. And I believe it. This is such a caring, generous,
intelligent, level-headed, and forgiving group of people, that I doubt there is
a list with a group of people like this out there in cyberspace. I haven't
been able to bring myself to unsub from this list, even though I don't
contribute much any more and skim through a lot of posts. And it's times like
this when I'm reminded why.

You've just demonstrated why you are all so special. You handled this
situation in a way I doubt many groups could have. I think somewhere else, it
could have become a blood bath, with nothing left but ashes. But this
community simply grows closer and stronger.

my admiration and applause to all of you,
monica

There is nothing in the rules that get posted every week.
I believe that the rules are equivalent to challenging a Kzinti to
a death-match: You Scream, You Leap.

Is this a recent picture?

If so, I have to say that Ger is looking much
fitter/leaner than he has recently. :-) I like the
darker hair.

If it's not recent, any idea of when it was taken?

Hm.... here's the question of the day: would the
character of Nick have played as well if Ger had
played him with the darker hair? Or, was the blonde
hair and blue eyes necessary to the persona to evoke
the appropriate emotional response to our fair knight,
and indicate that deep down, he was truly "good?"

I'm thinking back to RickNick, and while I adore Rick,
the "dark" vampire is such a cliche. Black, red....
we all know the visual clues.

And lets not leave out the Caddy.... RickNick's caddy
was black, while GerNick's was that lovely
blue/green/turquoise/seafoam/pick a color in that
spectrum. :-) Was the Caddy color a calculated choice
as well? Did it indicate a lightness of spirit that
even Nick was unaware of?

I'm sure we've covered this topic somewhere in the
past, but for the life of me, I'm drawing a blank.

Oooookay. I guess I have to ask now. What's a Kzinti? And how do you
