hi all,

This weeks question is "How do you think Schanke would react if Nick had sat
him down and told him that he was a vampire?"

http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/trayner/Question.html

This weeks question is only a little late this time :) I seem to be having
a horrendous run of bad luck at the moment, and for some reason things
always seem to happen on Sunday :( this time when I was on my way out to
sell raffle tickets for the victim support group that I work for, I found my
car had been badly vandalised overnight (approx $1000 worth of damage). I
think next Sunday I'm just gonna stay in bed :(
Talking about bed, I think I'm going head off there now and contemplate the
general unfairness of the world.
ciao

As one local radio station uses for a slogan, it's much too early for
a question. But I'll give it a shot. I think Schanke would be
reasonable. He might sort of freak out at first, but he'd be okay
with it in the long run. After all, he probably suspected it for
quite some time. Nick is one of his best friends, I don't think
Schanke would go too much overboard.

Also, like Emily, I think that Schanke would have been startled at first to
hear the news, but after a moment of letting it sink into his mind, he would
have been *so* relieved. It would have put his mind at ease to hear that
Nick's uncanny ability to be first at the scene of every crime, his almost
superhuman strength, and speed, bullet resistant capabilities and other
bizarre occurrences were the result of his vampirism and not a sign that his
imagination was working overtime and that he (Schanke) needed a therapist.

I think he might react similar to the way he did
when Nick was doing the step program. Disbelief at
first and then as Nick showed him, " I knew it all
along!" And he would be supportive of him.

No filler this time. Guys, please, the rules have been the same for years.
Quotes from the post you're talking about are limited to 4 lines for each
point you talk about. Cut or paraphrase if you have to, but no way you can
go over this limit. Attaching the complete previus post to the bottom of you
post is right out.

We're getting a lot of the above and it has to stop now. Please don't make
me start having to enforce the rules. I hate that and so do you.

Thank you.

McLisa

FORKNI-L RULES

1. No flames on list. FLAMERS MAY BE SET NOPOST. THE NOPOST MAY BE PERMANENT.

2. Please don't quote more than four lines of a previous post in
replying. If you have more than one point to answer, then you may
quote the relevant four lines for that point also.

3. Limit sigs to 6 lines. This includes all information, decoration
quotations and blank lines. Your name and address count as part of
the six. If you sign your name on a separate line above the body of
text, your name and the blank line or lines between count as part of
the six line limit. If you have one of those services that insists on
putting an advertising tag on the end of posts, don't worry. We
realize you can't control that and it doesn't count as part of your
sig.

4. Please don't send to the whole list when you are only talking to
the person who wrote the post you are answering.

5. Advertising on list is on a case by case basis. Please consult the
listowners, Lisa McDavid, <mclisa@m.......> or Don Fasig,
<Argent@e.......f> or permission.

6. This list is for the discussion of Forever Knight. Cast, crew,
staff and producers in connection with what they're doing now or have
done in the past are ok. So are list members' FK- fannish activities
and arrangements to meet. Cons should only be announced on Forkni-l
if someone from the show is appearing, or if you're going to be
there. Non-FK vampires, or vampires in general, are _NOT_ ok.
Vampyres@t....... does that. McLisa can tell you how to
subscribe.

7. Off-topic posts are _NOT_ allowed, no matter what
they are about or how urgent the warning may appear. If you have an
off-topic post which you think should appear on the list, ask one of
the owners for permission.

8. The private lives of the cast are not a discussion topic.
Occasionally one of the fan club presidents will make an
announcement, but other than that, we leave the cast their privacy.

9. Only fan club presidents or other designated spokespeople may make
announcements of future projects for FK cast, crew and staff, before
said projects have been released or written about in the media.

10. No role-playing on Forkni-l. This includes no character names as
pseudonyms or posing as a character.

11. Each subscriber is limited to five posts per day on Forkni-l.

I agree that Schanke would be relieved to find an answer for Nick's
amazing abilities, such as when he held the "perp" out the window with one
hand and threatened to drop him. In the same episode he left Schanke to
cover the front door of an apartment on an undisclosed upper floor and
said he would "go around". After he left, Schanke commented "Go around
where?"

I think he'd instantly tumble to Lacroix being "one of them!!" after his
experience with Lacroix in Stranger Than Fiction. No doubt he'd
harbour some suspicions about Janette and wonder about the clientele at
the Raven.

At the same time, I think he would, from then on, be a little cautious and
uncertain around Nick. Even though in STF, he was researching vampire
lore, I can't see him asking Nick for details about his past. I think he
would want the bare facts only. I saw Schanke as living very firmly in
the present.

Just my .02 worth; that's Canadian funds.

There's a rumor that Ger said the rights for FK had been bought. I wasn't
there but I don't remember reading this in any of the reports.

Does anyone know anything about this?

Thanks!

Ger mentioned that they had tried to put FK back on about 1 year ago but
failed. He did not close the door on FK.

I do remember him saying that he thought the rights had been sold but he was
unsure.
