Subject: Yet Another FK Alumni in the Original Cube Movie?

Wow, what a trip through memory lane.

This wasn't in my last digest, so hopefully nobody has already pointed this
out...

Another FK alumni from "Cube" (which I didn't see in its entirety, maybe
just a few minutes at the beginning before my #$%#!@ ended!) was Mark Dean
Wint, aka "Francesca" also aka John Cable from Robocop: Prime Directives.

Also notable for her presence (although not an alumna of FK if I recall
correctly?) was the soon-to-be famous Nicole "Nikki" de Boer, of ST:DS9
fame, who had been doing bit parts in various movies, and if I recall
correctly, an Outer Limits episode beside Robert "Terminator 2" Patrick or
William "Section 31" Sadler (I keep getting those two mixed up! Why Will,
why?!?!?)

W.

P.S. : Getting back to Cube for a second, wasn't Julian Richings the one
who, err, met a very nasty untimely end at the beginning of the movie??

That was him! And he's also the one featured on the cover of the video
despite his very short (but VERY memorable) appearance.

Makes ya wonder what they are going to do to Ger, doesn't it??? hahaha.

(Those who haven't seen the movie, let's just say most of the characters make
a very graphic exit - and that's the plot of the movie so I'm not giving
anything away!)

Unless that desert island came with a humongous cavern-turned-wine-cellar
stocked by Janette herself, I'd have to say any of the vampires are an
automatic no-no. (And even then it would have to be a vampire who wasn't
partial to 'fresh' despite there being no authorities around to tell him/her
otherwise.

I am also assuming that this desert island is like----waaaaaaay out to sea?
No chance of being flown to safety? (Although there is the possibility of
having the vampire tow you along with a few cases of 'specialty'. If he was
willing.)

No Screed. He'd just be competition if rats were the only thing around to
eat. And I don't like the odds of my winning over him in a tug-of-war
contest.

Same goes for Perry. Make that double.

Nat would be handy for medical emergencies, but what if a can of orange
paint washed up? Could you stand to live on a desert island where the only
coconut trees for leagues around were painted orange? I couldn't.

Captain Cohen would want me to write a detailed daily report---in
triplicate---of the island happenings.

Sydney has possibilities... and fish would be plentiful. But I don't know
if he'd start using the only non-fishy food supply (those potentially orange
coconut trees) as his scratching post. Is Syd de-clawed? I can see it
now... Fanfic Author Found Dead Of Malnutrition Caused By Darned Cat.

Could I pick one of the FK script writers? You know, the ones that brought
dead people back to life (Schanke's mom) and such? Who doesn't have to work
within the laws of reality? A miracle worker like that would sure come in
handy on a desert island. And think of all the food he'd create. Nothing
but cheese for as far as the eye could see.

Well, if I had to choose a vampire, and if you assume the island is too
remote to be flown off of, then I'd say Screed. He'd eat the rats instead
of me -- a very good thing! And, all that sailor stuff has to come in
handy. Though, I reckon the accent would be the one thing to drive me
crazy, at least until I got used to it.

I think either Nick or Vachon would make good conversation, though I'm not
too sure they'd be good for much else -- then again, Vachon survived a
really long time without a master and on the run from the Inca, so he might
know some important survival skills.

Of course, between doctor Nat and scientist me, we could probably figure a
way off the rock in record time -- or at least have made good water to drink
and found non-poisonous things to eat in the meanwhile.

Reckon if I had to be trapped there, though, for a whole year, with a
mortal, I might want the chance to review the FK tapes first and find the
cutest, most interesting mortal guy from the series. He wouldn't
necessarily be much help with the scientific/survival stuff, but he could
make survival worth my while! ;-)

Nick. No explanation as to why. I would pay any price to
spend some time, any sort of time, with him (and by that I
mean Nick and not necessarily Ger). I'd give away all the
lousy guys who buzz around me freely and gladly to be
trapped with him on a deserted island and listen to him
whine about how miserable his life had been. What can I
say; I’m a sucker for baby-faced anguished guys with sad
blue eyes.

This was priceless. I thought I was the only one who
thought they'd done a less than deserving job with the
wonderful premise they were given.

Hi! I'm curious (in both senses)....

Is there a webpage with the brought-across dates of all the vampires?
Specifically, I'm looking for how old Francesca might be. Also, is
Francesca Italian or French?

Just as an update, my mom is doing spiffy now... her hair grew out five
inches in a year. It looks really nice and fuzzy... even better than
before! Thanks again so much for all of your love and support last year!!

For the last 2 weeks there have been several NEW Nick Knight DVDs being
sold on ebay. And today 2 lots of 15 DVDs were added. note: there are at
least 3 different sellers of these DVDs.

I have checked with amazon.com; borders.com; suncoast.com; and several
other movie distributers all state that Nick knight has not been
re-released.

Does anyone know any of the sellers or anything about this. This just
seems to good to be true.

Then I wouldn't be surprised if they were burned DVDs that people made
themselves (apparently in mass quantities <G>). At a recent con, I was
surprised to see DVDs of Raiders of the Lost Ark for sale in plain view on a
dealer table. Like the original 3 Star Wars movies, Lucas hasn't even
*begun* to think about putting Raiders together for sale on DVD yet. So the
Nick Knight DVDs on eBay may well be illegal copies. (Incidentally, some
illegally burned DVDs are as good quality as professional ones, but some are
very bad...it depends on the original source used to make the copy. It's a
real crapshoot.)

Hmm...I wouldn't choose Sydney, because I'm allergic to cats <g>.
And LaCroix would not be my first choice, since he'd either drain a
human or bring them across, probably within the first few nights on
the island.

Of course, Nick would be my first choice, provided that there was a
source of blood on the island other than myself. Then there's Nat,
who would be my first choice if there was no source of blood for
vampires. She's intelligent and could provide first aid if the need
arose. Aristotle also has possibilities.

As much as I'd like to spend a year with LaCroix, I do think that Nick or

...when you do a search on Screed, hit a web site that says
"Screed has moved", with a bicycle as a logo, go to the
knew URL (with the same bicycle logo), read the outlines
for about 2 minutes before you finally realize that the
page has nothing to do with the Ratsie Rat-catcher (or even
FK for that matter) Then you wonder if you are
watching/reading too much...

Here is the address to that page BTW:

http://www.scorcher.org/screed/

Tell me if that bicycle loge isn't deceiving, not to
mention the links :“Riding around”, "changing the world”,
“DEALING WITH COPS”, hmm, wonder if they mean a particular
blond cop?

And this page also answers the big question that’s been
pounding in our heads all the time: “what is Screed?” You
never would have guessed it :)
