Have I missed something? The book I have with this dust jacket is "His
Father's Son".

Speaking of "His Father's Son", Lord Richard has a cameo appearance in
Elrod's new book "Quincey Morris, Vampire".

A week or so ago, I let PN (Pat) Elrod know about some of the questions folks
on this list had. My apologies for not forwarding this sooner.

And for the newbies, yes, I do know Pat. We're sometimes guests at the same
conventions and McLisa lets me make PN Elrod announcements.

---FROM PN ELROD

Halfway through the outline/initial writing session for book 2, Nigel and I
decided that HIS FATHER'S SON was more appropriate to the plot than using
"keeper" again. We made a big announcement on the change years ago at a
convention and the trickle-down effect hasn't reached all the sites yet.

Nigel is in a cowboy hat and Dallas is used as a background because Richard
wears that hat, and the story takes place in Dallas. Nitpickers will note
that for reasons to do with cover composition the image was flipped from the
original which shows Richard facing the other direction. We both think this
cover is much better than the previous effort. Nigel looks like Nigel and
it's an original, unified piece. The other cover is computer-pasted bits
from FK stills, a Chris Lee Dracula film, and what looks like postcard views
of generic cities.

Nigel first saw Jamie Murray's portrait art at a convention and was impressed
enough to inquire whether he might be available for the job. Jamie is an old
bud of mine with a huge talent that deserves recognition. For those who
would like to buy prints of this and Jamie's other FK & media oriented
art---he has a HUGE Beauty & the Beast collection---set your search engine
for "Jamie Murray Art Myhr" there are 2 sites, one under Sue Haley and
another; the 2nd one is better set up and more user friendly. Both have
addies where you can contact the artist. He is--for now--still VERY
reasonable in his pricing for prints, starting at 1.00 for small ones.

Jamie's alter-ego, a cat-faced guy named "Myhr" --rhymes with "purr" --is the
star of my new fantasy novel "Myhr's Adventure in Hell," to be out in 2002.
Several cast members of Forever Knight have been the models for many of the
supporting characters. I didn't plan it that way, it just happened. You'll
probably enjoy the "drunk scene" between two guardsmen, "Debreban" and
"Shankey," as they plot out something over several rounds of beer.

The next Richard Dun opus---note there is only one "N"---will be SIEGE
PERILOUS, referring to the empty seat next to Arthur at the Round Table.
Only the purest soul could take that place; it was death to anyone else who
dared. Richard's godson, Michael, will be back, along with Sharon Geary,
Charon, Borland, and Sabra. The story will take place in Toronto and points
south and east.

For those having trouble finding copies of HIS FATHER'S SON, just ask your
favorite bookstore to order it for you. They usually get it in just a couple
days and you won't have to pay postage or any extra charge. If you are on a
store's discount card program you can get that as well.

I am astonished at how many readers are unaware that their store WANTS to get
them the book they're looking for, and will gladly order it. The stores are
delighted to know what to buy. While you're at it, ask them to stock copies
of KEEPER and QUINCEY MORRIS, VAMPIRE (Lord Richard makes a cameo appearance
at a costume party. He's the one dressed in a crusader outfit who looks
RIGHT in it!)

This ordering thing works for ALL books. I usually check the reviews out on
Amazon, then take the title I want to the store and let them do their job.
It works great for those who don't want to put their credit card number out
on the net or risk the book to the vagaries of the Post Awful or
Unreliable Parcel Shredders.

Cheers-- Elrod

Thanks, Libs, for forwarding Pat's comments. I also want to add a hearty
agreement to Pat's advice about ordering books from your bookstore! If you
can, support your local independent bookseller, too.
