Greetings all,

Just a note to let everyone know that the Enforcements as a faction will not
be joining in with this war.

Explaining an FK War is beyond my limited powers. It's group
insanity for a two-week period, but not a role-playing game, as
Lisa has explained on the Fkfic list.

My only experience of factions is with the Unnamed Faction, which
is interested in the special relationship between Nick and LaCroix.
We don't control either of them, but we have managed to arrange to
borrow them both in past Wars, and have them meet in the Hive,
the mansion of Don Constantine's that is the UF headquarters in
Wartime.

Unlike other factions, we don't prepare elaborate multipart escapades
for our members, but we do try to play well with the other factions <g>,
and our War posts range from the extremely silly to some pretty good
group writing, if I immodestly say so myself. (I can hear UFfers humphing,
"Preparation? The UF? Those are completely incompatible entities!")
In other words, we do tend to spend the two weeks of the FK War in a
state of sheer and utter panic, listening to the noise that deadlines
make as they whoosh by <melancholy grin>.

There is an Unnamed Faction War 11 loop set up at ... er .... <shuffling
Web pages> ... ufwar11@y........ Since the Wars are PG,
there's no age limit on that loop. Write me offlist with questions. Write
me offlist with answers, even better!

Best,
Julia

Countess it is not strictly illegal if it is collector-to-collector, with only
trades or the cost of shipping and blanks is the paid amount. Also there are
basically 2 versions of the first 2 seasons of FK, The American and the Canadian
versions. Canadian versions have voiceless into theme and some added scenes.

Secondly can anyone email me off list about making me a copy of " One of the
Hollywood Ten" Ger is on after it airs on the cable channel I can't get here.
Starz I think it is.

Thanks!

If I'm not mistaken, there's only two versions of the FIRST season, not the
second. (For newbies here, there's additional footage in the Canadian
versions. If I recall, the versions shown on Sci Fi were sort of a mixture of
the US and Canadian versions though it has been a long time so I could be
wrong.)

And the person was willing to "pay any price" for the copies - in otherwords,
buy them. Not only is that illegal, there's no need for it as FK fans are
very generous and there's always someone willing to provide the episode at
cost of tapes and mailing.

They're big popping fresh earthworms here in eastern Canada too. At a
certain time during warm summer evening you can actually hear them come out
of the ground and then run around with a bucket and flashlight to collect
them from the dewy grass to save for the morning trout fishing trip.

: So I'm guessing LaCroix didn't choose the pseudonym for
: its actual usage.... ;-)

Well, nightcrawlers do come out at dusk and disappear by dawn. They are
valued by some and loathed by others. You can sit around listening to
them....

Nigel Bennett is a bit of a sports/fisherman isn't he? I always giggled
picturing LaCroix wiggling around in a bit of earth in a bait can.

ROTFL! Can you imagine the icy blue glare that any fish unlucky enough to
approach that worm would receive? I can just see the fisherman hauling up
his catch only to find that the worm was carrying the fish in HIS mouth. <BG>

The highlight of the conclusion of any War being Patt's
several-part bar fight post.

Or ... so I'm told, since <sniff> I've never been one
of the happy victims ... er ... participants in same
<heavyhanded hint to Patt>.

If you don't want to write War posts, you could be of
absolutely invaluable service by being a War correspondent, reading the posts
dropped by a certain faction and issuing a short report of Who Did What To Whom
in which post. The volume of War posts is simply
too huge for any one person to both keep up with everything that's being posted,
as well as trying to write posts themselves.

I'd love to see a War Reporters Corps that would cover every faction and be
available to all factions, possibly as a yahoogroups list? Is that possible,
Warmistress? And being a War Reporter wouldn't stop
anyone from writing War posts themselves.

Subject: Re: WAR: small question...

Once when this list had this conversation, I put together a small
comprehensive list from everything to give to a newbie friend of mine. I
also saved it for just such an ocasion. I don't actually know how many of
these are WAR factions, and they certainly aren't listed in order of size or
importaince. Personally, I'm a merc. <G>

Fleur + Lacroix --"Faithfuls"

Ravens/ettes-- Jeanette

Vanquers/as-- Vachon

Die-Hards-- Basically, Independants- they like all the
characters and don't wish to chose one over the others.

Mercs- like Die-Hards, but realized that they could
profit from War, usually in chocolate

Ratpack- Screed. However, for Wars they team up with
the Mercs- an appropriate and sensible combination

Lurkers- those people who lurk around the list and
stay in the shadows

Mortal Siblings- Nick and Fleur (his mortal sister)

Fleurettes- Fleur

GGS (General's Secret Service) Lacroix as Roman
General, military type faction

Nick's Harem

Nothers- Believe that Nat should have a great
relationship, with anyone but Nick!

FoDs- Friends of Don (Schanke)- Great Cooks, and own
the Happy Slovaki (spelling?), the best caterers and place to
eat in the FK fanfic universe

Knighties: Nick
Dark Knighties -- like Nick, but as a vamp

Cousins: LaCroix (why Cousins is a long story)
Light Cousins -- like LC's "warm and fuzzy" side
Nunkies Anonymous -- best to ask Bons about
these, but I'd describe this faction as "has the
hots for LC"

Perks: Tracy
Dark Perks -- like Tracy, as a highly self-assertive woman
(think shocking pink, motorcycles, and high-powered firearms)

Other character factions include:
FoSiLs (Friends of Sidney Lambert -- Nat's cat)
           Incarnates -- the Inca
           Urchins -- Urs
           Stonetree-ites -- Captain Stonetree
           Cohen-heads -- Amanda Cohen
           Reese's Pieces -- Captain Reese
Woof Pack -- Perry, the Vampire Retriever
Mikkies -- Miklos, the Raven's Bartender
           CaddyWhacks -- the caddy

Relationship factions that have Warred (that I know of):
           Nick and Natpackers (Nick+Nat)
           Unnamed Faction (Nick+Lacroix)

Other relationship factions include:
           CerkPerks (Tracy+Lacroix)
           Immortal Beloveds (Nick+Janette)
           Unholy Trinity (Nick+Nat+Lacroix)
           Valentines (Nat+Lacroix)
           Dark Trinity (Nick+Janette+Lacroix)
           Unholy Alliance (Nick+Nat+Janette)
           Les Miserables (Nick+Urs)
           RoGues (Lacroix+Urs)
Night Haven is Nick *with* Vachon
           Heartbreakers is Nick *and* Vachon
           T & V Pack (Tracy+Vachon)
           Lonely Hearts (Nat+Vachon)
           (Nat+Vachon) (Lonelyhearts faction?)
(The Crew -- Vachon, Screed, Urs, Bourbon)

Affiliations based on similar issues and/or interests
include:
           Pit of Condemned Bimbos Survivalists
           Rainbow Knights
           Virtual Knights
           Knights of the Cross
           Pagan Knights
            *Celtic Glow Worms
            *Tequila Fiends

And that's just a *small* list. :)
