I agree with Sunny. I found out about the list thru
someone who was on the Scifi Board and participating
in the war. I have been here for about a week or two.
I am enjoying reading stories and getting feedback on
my poetry. I think it is a good idea.

As to the list size, I also remember there's LOTS of other FK related lists,
a lot more than even three years ago thanks to the ease of using yahoogroups.
I can think of numerous fans I know who belong to lists other than FORKNI-L,
and keep up with FORKNI-L news from the other lists. Why doesn't everyone
sign up here? Time! And I know I sometimes forward tidbits of interest and
news to fans who don't have time to be on this list but want to be kept up to
date on what is wot.

Emerging from lurkdom to comment on ....

Nigel's book. It was my holiday reading this weekend, and I enjoyed it
also! What I had particular fun doing was picking out what I think are
small references to Forever Knight (knowing that PN Elrod is also a fan of
the show). I think that the character of Charon in the first book, has many
of Schanke's mannerisms and I can picture John Kapelos playing him. And the
character of Borland, I think, is written with GWD in mind. Borland is
blonde and there is a ref to him in the second book about being like a
knight. And I could see Janette being Sabra!

Just my 02 cents, YMMV

I was wondering if I was the only one who noticed the similarities. Guess
now we know what REALLY happened to Schanke. He was brought across and the
frustration over his inability to eat his beloved souvlaki turned him into
a killing machine. <BG>

Did you notice the "Top of the Food Chain" reference in the second book as
well? I just had to giggle at that one. <G>

Yes, I noticed that. Also, Richard Dun wears a baseball cap that says "Black
Hat Productions" on it -- the name of Nigel's production company. There were
others, but I've forgotten them -- read the book about two months ago.

At the risk of being getting pelted with rotton vegetables <g> I have to say
I preferred the first book. Also I was surprised to find a big ole
geographical and historical error in the flashback part.
