I agree but don't you think the idea of Rasputin being a vampire would
solve most of the mysteries surrounding his character. When I first saw
that flashback I couldn't help but to think about how acuurately it
explained the weirdness of his death (the fact they had to poison,
strangle, shoot... him and yet he still didn't die) the power he held over
Tsarina and the incredible healing abilities he possessed.

In the previous FK War, while Nick was mortal, the Unnamed Faction
was invited to the Loft to feed Nick and the Knighties a meal of the
kind that we imagined would have been served as a special repast in
his youth. I remember ... there was a chase involving a peacock in the
TO Zoo, and an authentic eel pie, with live eels.

There was actually an awful lot of research involved, by a wonderful
UFfer who is interested in medieval cookery (and yes, whose actual
name now escapes me, aaargh).

Nick seemed to enjoy all the effort that was taken, and the Knighties ...
well ... they weren't complaining <g>. I was accused of a moment
of actual ... <blush> sentiment by the end of the evening.

And the NA fed the General in that War, did they not?

I would say he demands obedience but rather enjoys extracting it out of
others than be given freely. That IMO is why Nick is his favorite because
he defies that notion no matter at what cost and LaCroix looks at it as a
challenge enjoying himself to no end whenever he does manage to bend the
boy's knees.

Of course I might be wrong.

>>I also felt that Nick should have checked out the Czar before becoming so
friendly with him. Nicholas II was not exactly the saint that he is now
made out to be.<<

Autocrats rarely are. <g> Another thing that had me wondering about that
episode was that Russia (at least at that time) was awash in Christian
symbolism. Churches everywhere, everybody wearing crucifixes, icons in
every home--how on earth did Nick handle it?
