...and, if you don't mind me tossing this in, it's a national tragedy for
all Canadians, as yet another of our great institutions falls into foreign
hands. What's next, the CN Tower??
(In case that sounded extremely "un-PC": Canada is known for having a
"branch plant" economy, i.e., only a small minority of large businesses in
Canada are owned or controlled by Canadians. So, when one of Canada's
biggest Canadian-owned companies, not to mention one that's international in
scope, fades into the sunset, it's a Big Deal, even to Traitorous Canadians
who are Virtually American and are Canadians In Name Only, well, like,
errrr, well...me (*) ).
Well, at least now I the corporate fatcat-errr, whoops, person to be sending
my letters to... Thanks for the update!

P.S. : (*) For those who don't know me, that "traitorous Canadian" remark
was a slap at myself for the fact that I have lived in the States since June
of 1997, because apparently that Canadian money just wasn't good enough for
me. :-) And then on top of that, there's the fact that I TOTALLY sold out
my country by marrying an American - egads!! Well, shucks, you know, I did
TRY, you know, but geez, I just wasn't good enough for any Canadian girls,
eh. (JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!! Okay, everyone start bricking Perky Cousin Will

Wow, now there's a fandom question that I can actually answer (I hope). The
founder of this list is Jean "Jaye" Prior (right Lisa?), who is/was a Penn
State University grad student. I don't recall how she ever managed to snag
university list server space for a non university-related subject, but hey,
I'm not complaining!! :-)
Also thick in the midst of things was Laurie Salopek, who was co-Listmommy
for a few years. Alas, I haven't seen for a while lately. I met her at the
fan gathering in Toronto for Deborah Duchene's appearence in "The Winter's
Tale". She's quite nice and I miss her being around here more often.
Laurie, I mean. Well, Deborah's nice too, of course. (Geez. Is anyone
thinking, "Geez, is he sounding like Forrest Gump today or what?!?!?")
Come to think of it, I haven't seen Jaye for a while either, but I have a
feeling that she'll be back soon to tell the whole tale. THIS time, I'm
actually going to try to remember it in some detail in case anyone asks this
question again.

I think Nick had stopped before he was brought over.
My impression of Nickis that he was deeply, bitterly
disillusioned by the violence he saw and experienced in the
Crusade. I'm inclined to think that he thought "no true god would
permit such carnage to be unleased in his name" and had
effectively given up the whole Roman Catholic idea of god by the
time he had returned home.
I think it is part of why he was such a willing companion of
Janette and LaCroix for so long. He was a man without a soul or
faith in anything but himself.

to LCA3 did the same to me. I'm hooked bad. I became aware of this great
coffee shop. One on every other block in Toronto. Yes, it's Tim Horton's.
After trying to find a web site for them and then calling on the phone, they
don't ship. Is there any FK fan out there in Canada cyber land that would do
me a favor and ship some to me? Please email me off list. It' would only
cost you time. Which I would greatfully reward by sending you a copy of the
current FK ad in the Hollywood Reporter. I'll even let you select a tshirt
