Nick: The de Brabant foundation (that was too easy)

Also, I think most (if not all) of the vampires in FK would support the Red
Cross. After all, they have to keep up the blood supply :)

Natalie: A medical charity program like the American Medical Resources
Foundation that donates medical equipment to hospitals, or a children's
program like Ronald McDonald House.

Schanke: Feed the Children (is there a souvlaki charity?)

In one episode he startled Tracy by showing up on tv at a demonstration in
favor of First Nations (Native Americans in the US) rights. We then
discovered that he has a history of involvement with the conflict between
First Nations and whites, so he would probably support any of the charities
that benefit them.

What about PETA (remember Raleigh?)
Is there an organization that helps kids from abusive fathers? <snicker>

LaCroix: Any of the paramilitary groups where the patriarch is king.
Save An Endangered Species (like my fool son..) Fund

Janette: Parisian Fashion Designers Disaster Fund

Screed: Society To Preserve Unintelligible Dialects

Vachon: Vidal Sassoon Reasearch Fund

Natalie: Society For The Preservation Of King Kong Memorial

Okay, this trying out a new fandom can get a little confusing at times!

I just opened a msg that started with something like, "Why do we hate Nick
so much after seeing him in just one episode?" Immediately, my Knightie
tendencies kicked in and I wanted to leap to my favorite fanged crusader's
defense -- Of course "we" don't hate Nick! Okay, there may, and I only
said *may* have been a few off incidences, but I could *never* hate....oh,
wait. <quick check of the list addy> Uh...never mind.

Subject: Another question

I would like to 'air my ignorance'. I work at a Greek Orthodox
Church. (I'm not Greek, Orthodox or Catholic.) One of the first
things kids learn (like at 2) is how to cross themselves. I notice
that Orthodox and Catholics seem to do this at the "drop of a hat"
without seeming to think about it.

Now my FK question:

How long do you suppose it took Nick (apparently a strong Catholic)
to quit crossing himself after he was brought over?
We can see that he isn't trying, even in the catacombs when he was
first brought over...but it seems that something he's been doing for
30-some years would be difficult to stop.

Now you know what _I_ do when I'm supposed to be working!

I would imagine that the first time he tried, it was *very* painful and he
broke that habit real quick!!!!!!!!!!!

Subject: Fic Question

KC was wondering how long (roughly) was it between the death of her
brother, the death of her goddaughter and the incident with Roger. She
wondered if it could conceivably have all happened in one year, before
Christmas, or add in the incident at the Azure and make it in two years,
also before Christmas. If anyone knows the approximate dates that these
incidents were supposed to have taken place, please let us know. Thanks!
She has an idea for a short Christmas piece, since she is 'stuck' on
Pipe Dreams. She also said that any suggestions for that story would be
appreciated.
I'm just glad she feels up to writing again!

While playing with the Yoda Furby a notion hatched in my mind. Considering how
the electronic toys (Furbies, voice activated and controlled toys) are
becoming more detailed each year, ever wonder if someone might make a Furby-type
based on FK?

Also since the Furbys supposedly interact with each other ( I am too sane to
test this out), you can imagine what FK Furbies would do.

There is also a lot of First Nations issues that he'd find interesting at:
http://www.dickshovel.com/www.html

There certainly is canonical support for the idea that Vachon has a long
history of social activism. He has shown concern for justice and he tried
(in a bit of a misguided way) to empower Urs.

I bet that he would be one of the people donating sleeping bags for the
homeless of Toronto, and I can also imagine him volunteering to help out at
a food bank, soup kitchen, or shelter. In Canada, being homeless presents
more than the run of the mill hazards. When the weather turns cold--it's a
deadly serious matter.

brought over...

I can postulate a couple of theories here as a non expert. :)

1. Lacroix whacked him upside the head when he first tried it.
2. Janette whacked him upside the head when he first tried it.
3. Nick felt whacked upside the head when he first tried it.
