'Punishments' is slash. I'm saying this here because the writers didn't provide any themselves. Most impolite, that. Why a heads up? Because I've had credit cards that expired faster than I wrote this sequal to 'Thankless Child.' That means a lot of people have either forgotten what happened in the old stories, or they joined the lists after they were first posted. Soooo...if you want to read the old stories before I start posting, or if you aren't subbed to FKFIC-L and want to read 'Survivors' now, go to my fanfic page at: http://www.geocities.com/~br1035/fk/forever.html Everything's located in the Clare Series section. <waves> *************************************************************************** Bonnie Rutledge......<br1035@i.......>......Evil - The Puppies Say So! It takes quite an effort sometimes to find out when and on what channel we can watch our team play. "Go Pacers" Snail,,,,,,,,,,,trail Lorraine Griepentrog snail@s....... You may not recognize the e-mail, so let me reveal that it's Carl Nicastro, former "bad boy" of FK fandom, leader of the DoD and RK. It has taken two years, changes in jobs, medication and a lot of soul-searching, but my life is slowly back on track. I have never lost sight of my first love--Vampires!--and am working on my first serious Goth novel(meaning, I want to get it published!). I am also easing back into FK fandom, which, except for the DoD and RK, I had pretty much abandoned while searching for the meaning and purpose of life. Having turned 44 recently, with a colon cancer test ahead of me(next month)and much more serious grounding, I have come back "home" to be among friends. It's nice to be back. Please visit my totally vampiric webpage at: http://www.webspawner.com/users/darkhavens Even if you're NOT a fan of Vampire rpgs, there's something fun there for you--check the link page THE MARKETPLACE OF DARK DELIGHTS. Try the "Kill Pikachu" link. This is SICK, but FUN!<g> There are Goth links, Goth musick, other stuff...including a link to a page for Stephen R. Lawhead, the author of Celtic fantasy novels(if you liked QUEEN OF HARPS, you'll love Lawhead!). Sign the Guestbook of Doom & Gloom, too! BTW, how many people onlist consider themselves actual "Goths"? (I do, but I add locally at poetry readings that I'm "The Elder Statesman Of Goth"). In the Blood Money flashback, he used a fencing sword (was that 15th Century?). I wish we could have seen him use that broadsword in Queen of Harps! Kyer luvs broadswords...even if it was overly fancy for what he should have had at the time. But what's a little historical inaccuracy between friends? <g> And hello, Sebastian...hehehe..ahem. [Kyer smiled nervously while nudging her multiple Personnaes in position between the DoD'der and her beloved Knight. "He's a what?!" "Shhh! Subject: Blood Money Flashback time The clothes were 17th c., which makes sense once you know that Colm Feore wore his costume from the Stratford production of Cyrano de Bergerac. OTOH, the reference to "that young rascal" the Dauphin whom Nick has supposedly killed after helping him extract a ransom from "his father the king" is baloney. No Dauphin died in his father's lifetime during the 17th c. When it did happen, too late in the 18th c. for those clothes, the Dauphin in question was a 50+ grandfather with gout and a history of poor health. This has always been one of my favorite examples of TBTB's tendency to assume that their viewers were a lot of know-nothings. The title of Dauphin for the heir to the French throne is as unique to France as "Prince of Wales" for the heir to the crown of England. It's not as bad as the 1066 blunder, but it's pretty close. Nothing in the flashback itself requires the scene to be set in France. It could be anywhere in western Europe in the period of the clothes. A reference to "the Prince" would have worked perfectly without causing historical problems. Cousin McLisa (Lisa McDavid) "That will be Trouble." mclisa@m.......
