Subject: Tangentially On Topic

Hey all!

In case others haven't been perusing the bookstore shelves recently, I
thought I'd let you know about the book I found. The reason I bring it to
your attention, and thus the tangential nature of the "on-topicness" of
this post is that the author is Susan Sizemore, who wrote one of the FK novels.

Anyway, Susan Sizemore has a new vampire series - "The Laws of the Blood"
and the first novel is called "The Hunt". The main character is Selim, a
vampire Enforcer...

Very little of FK in the novel, which I guess is a good thing <g> for legal
reasons, but not a bad vampire book. The characters aren't overly well
developed, but I guess we're supposed to tune into the next books of the
"Thrilling New Series" to learn more about them...

I read it, but I'm not hooked - I may or may not buy another of the series.
Depends on how flush I feel, and how desperate I am to read a new book. Now
if only Anne Bishop's new novel would come out soon...THAT's a book I'll
buy the moment I see it on the shelf! That, or anything by Lois McMaster
Bujold.

1. Barney Miller (Nick, Schanke & Stonetree meet Barney & gang. Does anyone
else see Nick hitting it off with Dietrich?)
2. Are You Being Served? (Janette meets Mrs. Slocombe)
3. Maude (Lacrois meets Maude)

You know you've got a serious case of FK fever when your local oldies
station has an Elvis special for his birthday and your thoughts go
immediately to Schanke.

Subject: New list announcement

This is to announce the creation of a new list for Nick-and-Nat
fanfic. It's not intended to compete with any of the existing N&N
lists, but to be a companion to them. Content will range from general
N&N fiction to erotica. There are no holds barred as to sexual
situations, therefore the minimum age to join is 21. Sorry
18-year-olds. <g> This list requires that you be approved to join,
but no one over the posted age limit will be turned away.

Please consider joining us even if you belong to the other N&N lists.
We hope all our authors, and new ones as well, will try their hand
posting here. For more information, please feel free to write me
privately.

I agree with Diane -- it sounds like a popular waltz of the early 1900s, not
classical at all. Perhaps it's one of the numbers known to have been played
by the Titanic's orchestra. I'm pretty sure I've seen a list of the music
they had in their repetoire. Anyone a Titanic fan, who could look it up in
one of the many books published about the ship?

FK and H.R. Puffinstuff?

FK and Soap: talk about your free-for-alls. It'd be a toss up as to which
family was more disfunctional <g>

FK and Northern Exposure, the vampires move to Cicely for the even longer
winter nights. LaCroix strikes up a friendship with deconstructionist DJ
Chris, and they have long conversations which nobody else can follow. Nick
and Maggie bond over their collective guilt: he for his centuries of
blood-drinking, she for her boyfriends who have died. Janette takes Shelley
under her wing to try to teach the girl some fashion sense. Screed and Ed
become pals, I'm not sure why, it just fits. <g>
