Well did you see the *size* of the stake that Nick used on Divia? I don't
mean to sound crude, but it practically blew her chest out. Plus he drove
is completely through her body. Compare this to the stake used on
Lacroix with was much smaller and wasn't driven in very deep (though it
seemed to have worked its way in a bit just before Nick pulled it out.)

Hi gang,

Sorry to waste your width but it can't be helped. There is this wonderful
person out there patiently waiting for two tapes filled with Ger material to
be sent to her. Unfortunately, I managed to lose her address (I wrote it
down, attached it to the tapes and then erased the message. Then ofcourse,
someone lost the paper on me and I forgot about it for a couple of days.)

SO, wonderful person out there...please contact me via private email so I
can get your tapes out to you?

Okay, its the first time I've seen this infamous episode, and Oh yes.
They did it! The jerk. My evidence? Buttoning the shirt, stupid grin
on his face, kissing Marion afterwards. If it was just in the spirit
walk, why was he buttoning his shirt, in her bedroom later? His one itty
bit of redeeming action was calling Nat afterwards and saying "I would
like to see you." I took that as "Yo Nat! I can do it with a MORTAL!!!!
Let's get down bay-bee!"

I don't think he told her to sordid details. I don't
think he told her all those times it was hinted at that he may have done
something with Janette in the Season 2 episodes. I don't think Nick is
that indiscreet or stupid. Hey, Nat knows how to kill one of these guys,
or at least hurt them, a lot.

As far as Marion was concerned, I don't think he had any deep feelings
for her. Grateful yes and eventually his usual dose of guilt, but then
that made me think, oooohhh, he was using her to "dry clean his soul".
Shame! Not nice Nicky! Yes, I think he loves Natalie and did in this
episode (hence his eager, I feel great let me share it with you pronto
and maybe do a little dance in the sheets because I think I can now), but
Marion was the means to achieve all this and he wasn't going to let that
opportunity go. However, she did offer it.

Well my $0.02.

I totally agree. I don't see why/how some here and on the newsgroup are
so critical of Nick in this scene. Here he is driving along and all of
a sudden he has visions from the spirit plane (the third time that night).
Plus Jess told him point blank that he was certain that Marion could "heal
the darkness" within him. So what was he suppose to do? Ignore her? Why?
I really don't believe that he went to her thinking "I'll get laid so I
can be healed." He had no idea what was going to happen and even afterwards
he didn't quite know what had happen.

Nope. Disagree with you here. I think that did the wild thang in the
real world, sotaspeak. BTW, Blackwing is one of my favorite episodes
specifically because of the bedroom/spiritwalk scene. Nick's kisses
looked really.........nice.

Ah, but if you look closely, Mary, you'll notice that he's not buttoning up
anything Marian didn't unbutton *before* the spirit walk started. (Collar and
*one* cuff.) When she was "sensing" his sickness.

So those of us that think it was purely "spiritual" have a pretty good

Hi all--

   Just a few tidbits...
        1) Have y'all seen the new montage on the Sci-Fi Channel? It features
scenes from many of the shows currently airing. FK has contributed at least
three scenes that I could catch. Makes me more assured that they are dedicated
to the airing of the show as promised.
        2) Also - tho I may be losing my mind - I believe the opening credits
are different for these eps now being shown on SF from the ones I have from
syndie and USA (ECKK! - sorry to put that in print). There are two new scenes
- f Tracy and Vachon! I may re-record just to get that picture of BB.
        3) On a totally unrelated note - what War is this? I see up to War 4
on the FTP site. Is this #5, or is there stuff missing? Email private (addies
in sig) if you would, as I am currently nomail.
        4) I saw Ger's ep of Outer Limits just a few minutes ago. Since I am
Showtime deprived, Mom recorded it for me. I must admit, I was LOL. What a
series of coincidences and parallel plot lines. Gee whiz. I guess this
qualifies as a YKYBWTM... All that adult content - AND NOT ONE MINUTE OF IT
WAS WITH GER!!! The scene where he is in bed with Melanie Mayron reminded me
of the old Hollywood rule that actors in bed must be fully dressed with one
foot on the floor. I couldn't hardly b'lieve my eyes, Guvnor. Sorry for
unloading, but it seems patently unfair.

Just some thoughts...

In Crazy Love, I believe LaCroix made it clear to Nick that he would either
end up killing Amalia or bringing her across. "Sipping" and leaving her
alive and mortal just wasn't an option.

In Black Buddha, Claire cut her own arm, and offered Nick the blood. Nick
didn't have to bite into her. I've always assumed that made the difference.

I agree with you, in general, about the drama, though it also works for
me if the vampire can take the victim either "quickly or slowly", as LaCroix
said in Crazy Love.

:But when you're donating, only your heart is pushing out the blood. I've
:always thought that there's a lot of suction going on in a vampire attack.

In one of the episodes, Nick says that the beating heart is necessary to
bring the blood to the neck. Otherwise the body has to be drained (like a
side of beef is the impression I got).

:That's even more reason for a vampire attack to kill, now that I think of
:it. I mean, if there was enough suction pulling on the blood vessels,
:there's got to be a good deal of damage there.

Actually, suction makes it difficult to get blood out of vessels. They tend
to collapse (as any phlebotomist or respiratory therapist will tell you). If
you suck hard enough to do a lot of damage, then you probably are going to
collapse the vessel (unless you're going for a femoral).

What you didn't see in Blackwing but what was in the script--

31 INT. MARIAN'S STUDIO - NIGHT (LATER)

Nick and Marian are an unconscious, naked tangle on the futon. Nick wakes
and he gently disentangles himself.

He stares ar Marian for a beat . . . she sleeps quietly, her troubled rest
soothed.

Nick puts a tentative hand on her neck, just to be sure -- but she's alive,
unmarked by fangs.

Nick moves to the mirror. Looks at himself closely. There's something
different somehow.

I think that was probably me, since Back When when we

of asking Bjo for advise, and thus I inadvertently became her
e-mail "contact" in FK fandom. (Even though I gave her plenty

her insights on to the list!)

Her original post (as Lisa digs though the SOS-FK folder on her

Never know where fans lurk! I discovered dozens of Trek fans this way, in mail
order houses, the gas company, the phone company and even at the bank! I sent
letters to my Congress-critters -- they probably didn't get the mail, but their

Well, one thing to push for is telefilms if you can't have the weekly
series. The Alien Nation people are freer to go with other projects
between filming, which can't happen on a hard-pressed weekly. So
it might be better for the actors, too.

Also, there is more production time, which means higher FX, better
production values, more script detail... telefilms have a lot going
for them, really.

Thanks for the info on this, and keep me posted, please. My next
deadline is June 26, so anything up to that date, any news, any

Ger did a movie with Mayron, too: Other Women's Children. He played the
husband there as well. Ger has been "married" to *2* women from
ThirtySomething! And both women were playing doctors. Wonder if this has
some great cosmic meaning? Nah, probably not.

the married couple! A married couple, moreover, who were bemoaning their

Subject: re feeding, sippping, draining

Margaret Carter's practical objections to the way FK vampires are
depicted feeding are valid ones, I think. What we have been shown and told
would only be physically possible if vampires have other specialized physical
adaptions for feeding in addition to their retractable fangs.
One idea that occurs to me is that vampires have a means to reduce the
viscosity of blood so that it flows as or more rapidly than water. James
Parriott once posted a note on AOL to reconcile the inconsistencies some have
noted in the methods FK vampires use to bring people across. He said that FK
vamps have hollow fangs like vipers and can inject their own blood into
victims. This statement raises as many problems as it solves, but hollow
fangs are now canon.
South American vampire bats have a substance in their saliva that
inhibits blood from clotting (true fact). Perhaps FK vampires produce a
highly concentrated agent that, when injected into the victim's bloodstream,
breaks down the walls of blood cells and simultaneously pulls in water from
surrounding tissue to dilute the blood. Volume would go up, but viscosity
would go down, and the result might be a fluid that vampires could absorb
very rapidly.
Can you tell I'm of the science fiction rather than fantasy camp of
vampire appreciation? Anyone have a more convincing theory?

I too think Nick would be much better off if he dumped the guilt. I think it
would be quite funny if the cure to his vampirism was to dump the guilt.

I think one of the reasons Nat reacted the way she did was she knows Nick has
a tendency to jump first and ask questions later. He also wants a quick
cure, an instant fix, not one that takes time and hard work.

I too think that Nat had very heavy suspicions that Nick slept with Marion
instead of sleeping with her. Even during the Fix ep when he was "mortal" he
did not sleep with Nat and that has me a little confused. But then again
Nick seems to be that way most of the time so I'm in good company.

Mercs have also been known to accept payment from both sides. (If you hire
them to do something to x then x may also hire them (and possibly pay more)
for whatever x wants done).

I just wanted to warn the newbies not to expect exclusivity in their
contracts unless the fee is something completely outstanding and it is part
of the contract. If I am wrong please feel free to correct me. (I have
never hired a Merc, only read others posts.)

Do you think someone with LC's attitude would drive himself? I figured he
either flew or had a driver. If he did drive it would be a top of the line
car.

Subject: FK Home Video

I had a meeting last week with the PR people for Columbia TriStar Home Video
and we talked a bit about what it would take to get FK released on video. I
was also discussing it earlier today with Justine Pierce at CTS Television
Distribution. He said, BTW, that Ger is VERY nice and he had a great time
with him when he was doing an autograph session at a book store last year to
promote the show. This from a man who has to deal with tempermental stars
all the time. He thought Ger was a breath of fresh air.

Anyway, back to my main point. The person to write to -- and not inundate --
but a gradual influx of letters -- is Paul Culberg
                Executive Vice President
                Columbia TriStar Home Video
                10202 West Washington Boulevard
                Culver City, CA 90232

I suggest we tell him that we really enjoyed FK on television and were
hoping they were planning to release episodes to video as had been done
successfully with other cult show -- mainly Quantum Leap and X Files. Paul
is a really nice guy with no axe to grind. An intelligent letter will go a
long way to making us look good and getting us what we want. I'm sure I
don't have to tell any of you this.

SPOILER SPACE

Rats! Did it again. Felicia wrote that she didn't agree with my
analysis of Nick WANTING to see Natalie when he called her the next
morning after that sinful tryst because he didn't follow-up on it when
she did get there. 2 things: A) he had the wind knocked out of his
sails a little when he realized he still could spontaneously combust if
he went in the sun and B) Nat didn't look like she was in the mood. :)

Subject: this is IMPORTANT!!! really!

Hi all,

This is important. This has to do with Sony licensing FK merchandise. Anne
Marion (TV showstuff) called me the other day to say that it looked like a
longshot that Sony would ever license FK stuff. They wanted more money than
Anne had. Anyway, she kept talking to them and talking, and Sony finally
budged a *little* This is the letter I just got from Anne at TV Showstuff:

(Begin forwarded message)

Hi Tippi! I have a lot to say!
1. the books will be avail like you said...next year. We will be getting
more info from the publisher in the mail shortly.Yes, we will be selling them!!
2. The photos of G.Wyn Davies are here. 3 are from FK. We will be scanning
them shortly to appear on our web site
3. THIS IS THE BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!
Sony has aggreed to listen to us on the FK merchandise. However they have
told us from the get go that they feel there is not enough of a market out
there for them to give us the rights to merchandise the show. We are
fighting HARD for this. What I need to ask of you is this: We need every
single FK fan to email us and tell us their love of the show and what kind
of merchandise they would be willing to purchase from the show. Do you have
any exact numbers of the fans for FK? Approx numbers?
This our FINAL shot at this otherwise it will be gone forever. Like I said
before, we are really fighting to the end on this. My partner and I
convinced Sony to take this a step farther and it is up to US to let Sony
know all about the FK fans. Every email we get is going straight to them,
SERIOUSLY! So this is why all of us need to stick together right now, more
than EVER, and show the executives at Sony who we are and what we want.
PLEASE POST THIS on any and ALL newgroups, BB's, ANYTHING!!
Send email asap. Time is ticking away
We will be usine every piece of email we get, so start typing away.
We really need the support!
Thanks Tippi!
Write soon

(TV-ShowStuff@p.......)

p.s. if anyone has exact numbers of FK fans out there please let us know.
This is a crucial battle....we haven't lost yet....

(End forwarded message.)

Could someone PLEASE post this on the newsgroups out there? I haven't
figured out how to find newsgroups from Netcom yet!

PLEASE oh PLEASE get the word out about this!

Thank you!
