Your friendly neighborhood Warmistress here, to answer some questions, and make a request of my own... First and foremost: The war time has been nominally set for July 13th (that's a Saturday) at noon EST. So don't worry about getting organized right away, we've all got some breathing room. An administrative note: For now, I'm afraid I must prohibit all crossovers in the war. This is a Forever Knight war, and must remain wholly Forever Knight, lest the focus of the war become confused. However, should you find yourself drugged or otherwise incapacitated during the war, delusions have worked very well in past wars as a medium for crossovers in individual posts. The only requirement is that they can't be *real*. (But if you abuse this loophole I'm allowing, I will be Unhappy.) A comprehensive list of War Rules and Regulations (i.e. What Is A Good Idea, and What Will Get You Into Buckets Of Trouble) will be posted shortly, as soon as I can write it up, and make sure I didn't miss anything. As for the request: could the faction leaders please contact me at the address below, as soon as the know who they are? Thanks! If you send in more than $5.00, please indicate whether you want a corresponding number of scripts (i.e.: $10.00 = 2 scripts; $15.00 = 3 scripts, etc.). Also, please remember that we are working on the honor system here. If you have a friend and you make a copy of the script for them, make sure that they forward the $5.00 donation for one of the charities to me. Along with your donation, please include $1.01 in stamps for return postage. If you positively can not send stamps, a check is acceptable and should be made out to my attention -- Lisa Prince. NOTE: If you would like to send an envelope along, you can feel free to do so; however, I am using 9 x 12 Tyvek envelopes, the white threadie ones, because they are relatively light. If you are sending a 9 x 12 brown paper envelope and putting postage on it, the cost is $1.24 because of the weight of the envelope. Back to business ;) If you'd like a blooper script, please send your donation and postage to: Lisa Prince 000 Xxxxxxxxxxx Xxxxxx, Xxxxx 000 Xxxxxxx, XX 00000-0000 Shortly, I will be posting a running total of the donations made to the various charities involved in the Blooper Script charity drive. Bennett" <102371.674@c.......> Subject: The end of FKSPOILR (long) To: Multiple recipients of list FKSPOILR <FKSPOILR@p.......> I thought that I would just check in with all you guys (non gender connotation) as FKSPOILR is coming to an end. It really has been a treat lurking here and listening to what you all think of the episodes as they have come and gone. Your comments were always insightful and challenging. And they were religiously printed out and consulted by the people at the FK studios. It has been a true pleasure to "know" you all in this way, and I thank you for the opportunity. I thought that I would add my own twopenn'orth (English version) to the debate about LK. Remember that this is simply my opinion and has no greater significance than that. I think that to fully see LK's significance, we have to take it in the context of the whole third season. It was a season, for me, which saw a growing disillusionment in my character certainly, and a growing unwillingness to accept the status quo in most of the others: Nat becomes less and less happy with her relationship with Nick, and her life in general, Nick backslides constantly, losing his grip on his quest for mortality. And Lacroix? Well, I think Janette's leaving hit him harder than even he knew, and he slid into a lethargy (Lacoix lite) which ended with him HAVING to move on. So, LK came as no surprise. Nat could see no light at the end of the tunnel and, in effect, commits suicide.(Yes, I know Nick drained her, but she asked him to), Lacroix moves on to reinvent himself somewhere else. And Nick.... Nick wins. You see, the way it felt for me at the end was that Nick had beaten Lacroix, and had finally regained his humanity. That is why Lacroix would be able to kill him, because he could see that he had finally and utterly lost his son, and could do nothing about it. When Nick says to Lacroix "You are my closest friend", when he turns to LC in love and compassion and, essentially, forgives him, he is human. "Damn you Nicholas" is Lacroix's admission of defeat, and Nick goes to the woman that he loves. So, for me, LK is a victorious ending and a deeply positive one. Just my twopenn'orth. Attention all Listmembers, especially from the Detroit area! Some of you will recall that last fall, Knightie Anna Sawitzky, her sister, and I were planning to visit Detroit, but that, phooey, our plans were foiled by evil space aliens from the dark side of Alpha Centauri (well, that's my story, and I'm damn well sticking to it). Even so, I recall that three Detroit area folk wrote back and asked us to post again whenever we "re-made" our Detroit plans. And so it happens again, and once again with less than 24 hours notice... Here's the plan : We'll be leaving Toronto at about 10:00am and crossing into the US from the bridge at Sarnia, Ontario (Port Huron, Michigan, I think?), approximately 3:00pm. From there, we'll be doing a bit of shopping (I don't know where Anna's sister usually goes), but perhaps some of you fine folk won't be doing anything at the time, and wouldn't mind giving us some company - perhaps we could stop for dinner together, who knows? From there, it's off to the Chicago concert (*I*'m not a big Chicago fan, but I certainly wouldn't mind seeing them, and I don't mind the excuse to visit Detroit and possibly meet some of you fine people! I've never been to Detroit, btw, nor have I ever driven/been driven anywhere southwest of London, Ontario...so this will certainly be fun!) At any rate, we realise that not everybody in the universe is as perky and sociable as we are (we _wish_ that everybody was, mind you! :-) ), but we hope that some of you will have a moment to join us, and will reply to me. I'll be picking up mail early tomorrow morning before I leave, and hopefully we'll be able to work something out. And, if anyone is shy about leaving a phone number, I'm even tempted to give them my cellular number - maybe. It's an expensive "maybe", but to meet fellow fans - it's a completely worthy expense!
