Luckily, we all have our own universes. :-)

In mine, everything that airs is canon, even if I don't like it. Luckily
for me, however, I adore the flashbacks of BMV. I know that no one
involved in making the episode particularly relished the experience, but
they did a marvelous job. If you ever want to swoon over LC, try the
scene where NB has him say, "It's a great irony, is it not, that such a
cold, still heart can feel such pain?"

I don't understand, however, how someone can embrace the Valentine
concept, and acknowledge Divia, and yet attempt to ignore LC's feelings
for Fleur. You can't avoid Fleur by simply ignoring BMV, you know. To
reject Fleur is to reject the symbolism of "Rosebud" in TG, the
significance of the dead rose LC carried in DoN, not to mention a
spoiler-protected scene or two. Since BMV, Fleur has become a presence in
FK, and deservedly so.

The very concept of Fleur intrigues me, not only for the dimension she
adds to LC's character, but for herself. We've been through this -- again
-- on fkspoilr recently (thank you, Apache) and I don't want to be
unnecessarily redundant. Everyone knows that I appreciate Fleur, and
everyone knows that the LC the Light Cousins like is the one that emerges
in situations like BMV.

But in case there is someone who is not included in "everyone" <g>, I want
to reiterate that there are those of us who believe that Nick's sister
Fleur -- intelligent, passionate, decisive, innocent and beautiful -- is
LC's True Love, that she is worthy of that love, and that LC has been
emotionally faithful to her for the eight centuries since he nobly gave
her up.

And maybe we'll have a better chance of newbies avoiding some of
the more obvious clunkers (though a glance at the schedule shows
that's not COMPLETELY successful ...)

Besides, as has been pointed out in the continuity discussions, there
really isn't an "intended order" (with a couple of obvious exceptions).

My mother has been listening to my sister and I talking about FK and
since she's a big vampire freak too she started watching the second
season eps on ATV (Halifax, NS station). She couldn't continue watching
because she said she was lost. She wants me to make up a synopsis (sp?)
of the characters and just what has gone on before she started watching
because she *really* wants to watch the show. My problem is that I
haven't seen about half the eps from first season and I've only seen
about two eps from second season. I need to know what happened to
Stonetree, how/why LC got "killed", and stuff like that. Could some kind
soul (if you're a Cousin I won't tell) e-mail me *off-list* to help me?

2. Was war declared and I missed it?!? How do I get involved in the war?
Do I need to be subbed on FKFic?

ObFK: Since I've never seen Miklos I won't comment on whether I think
he's a vampire or not. I do, however, think that LC is a multifaceted
character so I very much believe that he was in love with Fleur and that
she's his one *true* love to this day. Sex can happen without love, and I
don't think LC has deprived himself of this pleasure through the
centuries but I have seen no evidence (in my limited ep knowledge) that
he has ever loved another like he loved Fleur.

That's not so. LC and Nick were shown watching Alexandra being laid
out before her burial. Nick felt guilty, but LC noticed something
more in him: fear. He goes on to tell Nick that he shouldn't fear
her revenge because she can't come back. I took LC's remarks as him
reassuring Nick that there would be no "vengeful spirit" out to get
him.

I don't think Nick knew that Alexandra had been brought over by LC.
Nick thought she was dead when he left her; LC found she still had a
spark of life left in her and brought her over. But it seems clear
from the present day events that Nick didn't know she had been brought
over. He even mentions to Nat that he was so "spooked" by what had
happened with Stonetree shooting that kid and being "haunted" by the
memory, that he's been seeing "ghosts" himself. He certainly looked
surprised to see Alexandra once they *did* meet up.

RE: Miklos and the cross. Cynthia Hoffman said the Bad Blood scene
was a screwup and I tend to agree. It's a good example of the show
not having someone keeping a good eye on continuity. However, since
the episodes as shown should be what constitutes "canon", we have to
explain why Miklos would not be affected by a cross. Either he is
not a vampire or there is another reason why a cross would not affect
him (and some people have already postulated some reasons). But, and
I should add that it's been a while since I watched Bad Blood, it
seemed to me that O'Neill didn't actually *touch* Miklos with the
cross (although he tried). No touching, no burning of skin. And
Miklos might have been an old enough vampire to not "shy away" from a
cross being held up to him.

RE: SOS efforts
Sharon Himmanen writes:
>She is a *huge* fan...seemed to think the show and the characters

This is, imo, a real concern that we must deal with in SOS efforts.
How many fans who don't have computer access, fans who've enjoyed the
show despite knowing little or nothing about the SOS efforts, have
looked at the last few episodes and decided that the show has *ended*
and *cannot* go on because of things that appeared to happen to many
of the show's characters? Some people have to have viewed the last
couple of episodes as being very *final* (if you know what I mean
without me getting into mentioning any specific spoilers). Some
people may not have seen any "ambiguities" and have just written the
show off as "over". How do we reach such people?

Imo, what needs to be done is to alter any flyers to point out that
there are "ambiguities" and to stress that the campaign to SOS is
currently focusing on getting a TV movie(s) on USA and that the show
is being aired and supported by SFC. Opinions? I think we need to
really get the word out, especially to non-net fans, that the show
isn't *over*.

RE: Nat's birthday of April 14th. I agree that it should be in June.
But has anyone considered that April 14th might be *Catherine Disher's*
birthday (anyone know?) and that's why it was used?

RE: LC's return in Killer Instinct. Actually, we see him "alive" at
the end of the last episode of first season, Love You to Death.

RE: Spoiler protected episodes. The spoiler list will be no more as
of Monday. So what do we do if we want to discuss spoiler protected
episodes (those five or seven or whatever eps that haven't been
repeated yet in either syndication or on SFC)? Just put SPOILER:
Name of Ep in the subject line? Add "spoiler space" too? Jamie,
Jaye, what's going to be the policy for this?

Thank you Laurie, for the details, the facts, the results, and
perspective. Thanks to all others who posted about the efforts thus far.

Thanks to all mentioned & intended in Laurie's message for all the hard
work put forth for FK. I am grateful for being able to enjoy the
benefits of your hard work's results. We got a third season & reruns on
SciFi. I got to discover the lists, the home pages, the FK Fen, the
fiction, the addiction, and the bags under my eyes (which twinkle
anyway because of FK!).

Because of those who came before me, I get to enjoy the international
swap meet of tapes, scripts, jokes, shared tears, beta reading, & life
relvations (oh, yes, some of those too!), and more.

As for my "... If we MAKE it HAPPEN" posting, yesterday...

I meant not to step on ANYONE's toes. I have a very mere, humble & yet
highly appreciative glimmer of the wonderful, original, extremely
committed & exhausting activities, efforts, & results achieved from
those back when cancellation was first announced (and before... after
all someone(s) brought back a 2nd season, too!) This year, those who
came before us made the rest of 3rd season possible. I will love y'all
"Forever" for that alone!

I hope my "SO WHAT" list referred to, gave homage to, & brought attention
to all those who came before us, for the benefit & appreciation of other
newbies. It certainly was intended to do just that & to inspire ANY &
ALL to keep it up, to get involved, & not to quit.

It's just when I read John's Folden's message & heard of FK virgins
(whose first night was Last Knight!) calling USA & getting the "bad"
news, action was required to stem a tide of "Oh well, guess that's that"
conclusions from potentially "FORMER" FK fans..

I have the staying power, but not the experience, yet, of the best in
the FK coordinated efforts, and am happy to see Laurie's & other's
histories.

I enjoy hearing from, learning about, cheering on, & having the
opportunity to thank those who've achieved so much in FK-ness. After
reading Laurie's message, I can appreciate the low, & slowly recovering,
energy levels of those who did all the Winter'96 work.

But, if you (who did all this) are up to it, We (the new crop) need to
hear from you, get to know you, be able to thank you, learn from you &
do OUR parts, pay OUR dues, & keep this "steamroller" moving along
until the war is won.

THANKS AGAIN! I needed that...

seconds of advertising on comcast only costs $65. So, the idea is not

For those of you who don't exceed the recommended daily allowance of

work in the human world. Bonkers's first partner is a balding, slightly
overweight man who is married and has one daughter. At some point, this

I have been twice to the physical location of Crescendo Records to buy

absolutely flabergasted by how popular it is. One lady started asking me

Next time you have a party, even for non-FK people (if there are any in

I will bet people will start asking about the music. I've had mine for two

Hate to disabuse you, but SFC is airing the episodes that are going
out to the syndicated stations that are still running FK. These
syndicated stations have contracts allowing them to run FK until
September, I believe. Anyway, the satellite broadcast that the
syndicated stations download for their weekly showing is the same one
that SFC is downloading (syndication still gets to air the ep before
SFC, just like they got to air the eps before USA). So it's whoever
is in charge of sending out the satellite broadcasts that is
determining how FK is currently being marketed.

This will change once the syndicated stations' contracts are up, of
course. And when SFC starts running the first two seasons in 1997,
they intend to run them in the original broadcast order (last I heard).
Has anyone heard what they intend to do with the third season airing
order after the syndicated broadcasting has ended in September? There
will be at least three months of weekly programming to fill. Will SFC
choose which episodes they want to air in that time (anyone know?)?
Personally, I wish they would start with FK's first season in September
and bill it as part of a new fall series lineup or something. But
they've said they won't start airing the first two seasons until 1997.

>I'd like to see FK aired in the order intended

Which puts after Black Buddha a couple of the less gripping episodes
that focused on Tracy on. Actually, there is no real airing order
supposedly, although I would think it would make sense to air the
last three episodes of this season in the order they were broadcast in.
But SFC seems interested in trying to air the episodes in their
original broadcast order and really, there are *trends* that are
observable in second season and particularly in third season that are
apparent in the ordering of the aired episodes (despite any claims
TPTB make that the eps can be shown in *any* order in those seasons).

in Columbus, Ohio, too!)

What was TS's attitude towards our efforts to save the show? and more
importantly towards the NATPE 7's presence at the convention?

I wouldn't mind seeing this if it's not a major problem for anyone...

My question (perhaps dumb) is what was SONY's stance during all this?
Obviously, they would have been a target of mail, and known about
fan efforts, NATPE 7, etc... They would have known about
the purchase offers....and TS's refusal to sell...If they weren't making
money on the show, and weren't going to continue it...Wouldn't they want to
at least get money from the sale of FK? This whole bit is just incredibly
dumb from a business standpoint. Also, have the three prospective buyers
ever been publicly identified?

That's certainly understandable...but I believe this is where the newbies
come in....It's becoming apparent that a lot of new fans have joined or
want to join in on the effort and there's an incredible amount of info
to be gained by listening to the "original group". I still believe our
recent discussions on contacting the media (EW, TV Guide, etc...) are
very valid and worthwhile ideas...Obviously, a large group of us has
written to several of these companies but has there ever been an
organized plan, such as was recently mentioned, where we would pick
one media company per month(or whatever time frame) and grab their
attention? I'd rather see 800 people writing to ONE company at
a time rather than having 800 different people writing to
a random choice of their own...It would certainly prove to be
more impressive to the targeted company.

> going to need that energy down the road. (We have also been given

Is there a reason for this? Obviously there is...but I can't think
of it on my own...The fact that it's a syndicated show tends to make
me believe that scheduling would be more flexible, if nothing else.
On network TV most shows either show up at the beginning or as a mid-season
replacement but are syndicated shows restricted to this type of activity?
I would also think that since most syndicated stations have decided to
continue showing FK(if only in reruns) that it would be easier to convince
them to air a 4th season. Once FK is removed from the schedules would it
not be more difficult to gain their acceptance?

> write letters to sponsors, to their local affiliates, to TriStar,
> to SONY, to the SFC, expressing support for FK and asking for a
> fourth season or tv movie (we're not going to get the fourth season,
> but we *might* some day get the movie). Everyone should try to write

Why would we NOT get a 4th season? I've seen this mentioned by a couple
people now but is there a fact I'm missing, or is it simply
a statement based on probability due to financial considerations, etc..
by the producing company?

I am deeply grateful, and thankful for the "original efforts" which
helped provide us with the rest of 3rd season. This really is an amazing
group of people...

As I'm finishing this I just noticed that dear, sweet Leslie has posted
an incredibly good message herself(she tends to have a wonderful way with
words) and has expressed a lot of things in ways much better than I could
probably hope to do..but do feel. So when you read her post, think of me
as well! :)

Sorry, I have to ask, I missed the explanation. Who/what are the
McGregors and the Bunnies?

Just wanted to say "THANKS" for a very well thought out and clear post.
It provided me with answers to questions that had been bugging me for
several months and that no one else had managed to provide an acceptable
answer for, so far... It also comforts me with the knowledge that most
of my wishes and continued participation in the effort are pretty much
compatible with what most of you had already decided earlier in the year.

It's just a shame, I didn't find this incredible group of people sooner!

Sandra mentioned that SFC plans to show the first and second
seasons of FK in order. My question is - have they figured it
out yet? A couple months ago they were asking the fans to
let them know the order! <g> Off to phone Crescendo - need
4 more FK audiocassettes! Cyndi <cknecht@s.......>

Well, I knew that's how it was for the syndies but didn't know if
SFC had to follow the same airing schedule or not... I suppose it's
too much to hope that TPTB are actually getting a clew how to market
so late in the game?
