I've been thinking quite a bit about buying 2. I have a CD player on the PC

Is it okay to write Newsweek about the list? I'm on a few list that are
"semi-private" the reason being that publicized mailing lists were
getting spammed too much. I'd really hate to have to wade through ads in
my e-mail. (something I'd hate to see happening here in the future)

Someone asked about getting list mail very late or at all. I'm pretty
sure it's a psu thing. I've been missing some stuff on this list.
(Although I feel fortunate that I never saw the infamous tour letter. I
like only pleasantries or evil thoughts about USA ptbs, thank you) It's
also wrecking havoc on the HL war going on now, where some people are
only getting about 30% of posts within a day of posting.

Katja, I think we have a winner! That's great! What observant kids you

So, how about THIS for a faction name: Maan. It has a double meaning.
It sounds like "man" and it stands for "much ado about nothing"!

Can we take a vote now? I vote for this one!

     To everyone,
Hello...my name is John and I am a 20 year old
sophmore in college. I subscribed to this line because I am seriously
and very interested in Vampyres. I had a friend refer me to this page
because she believes she is a vampyre..and for one reason or another I
believe her..I hope I am not scaring anyone away when I write because I
mean what I say in all due respect. I seriously believe in Vampyres and
I have done as much studying as I can about them. I have read a lot of
stories and books pertaining to them and I am very fascinated. I have
seen many adaptations of Dracula..but none of which I have found to
captivate me...I guess Anne Rice's novels are the closest I can really
feel to seeing what a modern day vampyre might be, although I was very
dissappointed with the movie Interview With A Vampyre. While I am not a
vampyre..I wonder if there are "serious" ways in which you can tell if
you are or not. I'm not sure if I am one or not...in a way i would like
to be...I feel drawn and mesmerized towards them. I would really
appreciate it if people would write back to me and give me some insight
as well as some input..Well I must go now..I really meant what I had to
say in all seriousness and I hope to hear from you all soon!

                                               Sincerely,

Nick does indeed own and use a computer, and I'm proud to say that he's a
Macintosh man! :-)

One scene (I'm at a loss to recall which episode) shows him at home,
using what appears to be a Macintosh PowerBook 540c. I could be mistaken
about the model, but it's definitely a Mac PowerBook.

The precinct computers appear to be some flavor of Windows or Windows mock-up.

The mugshot database in Night in Question seems awfully aesthetically
spiffy for a police database (as well as uncommonly fast), but, then again,
this IS just a TV show...

The only time we see Nat modeming outside of her office is at Nick's loft
in "Fallen Idol." I assume, because of that, and because of the way that
she came up with pan-Canadian patient info so quickly in Partners of the

various computer resources via modem.

So far, we've had no clue as to computer handles or URLs for Natalie, or

Now I have one more question. I just visited Jasmine's FK page, and judging
from what I read there is some controversy over who Sofia's (Baroness-- from
"If Looks Could Kill") master is. From what I saw it was apparent that Janette
brought her across. Was there a scene in the Canadian version that might
 explain the controversy.

Okay I have to add something here. I also have a gum problem with my canine
teeth (No, they're not vampire size fangs, just *slightly* longer than normal
with sore gums from time to time). And, when I get mad, fustrated, excited,
scared, my brownish green eyes turn green, normal green not vampire or monster
glowing green (You've heard about a jealous woman being called the "green-eyed"
monster), and I gnaw at my lip. Oh, and I do have a nasty temper which is
unleashed verbally. However, I don't drink blood (except when I suck a cut
finger out of fustration for being so clumsy), and have no desire (that word
could apply to biting someone) to.

So my question to the original poster is this: Are you talking about something
similar to what I just I just described? If not, then um, well, I, uh, oh, how
can I put this gently without getting flammed (Here goes anyway)....I think
there is a logical explanation for your condition other than vampirism.
Please believe me, this is not a flame at all. I'm just more of a realist,
 that's all.

Hang about a bit. This whole "Prozac murderer" thing is overblown. After a
car accident, I took Prozac for several months (until it gave me headaches
and I had to stop) and if anything it made me LESS homicidal, calming me down
and getting rid of my _own_ ADD tendencies. It's good stuff, but you

I find it interesting that in order to fill Janette's place as the
symbolic representative of the vampire community, TPTB had to invent
*three* new vampires: Vachon, Urs, and Screed. And, of course, none of
them can appear in Nick's flashbacks, so their very presence splits the
emphasis of the show. IMHO. Stop me if this was discussed to death in,

Hi, all.

A reminder, to newcomers and old-timers alike: This is the Forever Knight
Mailing list. That is to say, the topic of this list is the television
show "Forever Knight".

While Forever Knight is about vampires, all vampires are not necessarily
related to Forever Knight.

Discussions about Anne Rice, Dracula and other literature, and about
vampirism in general, are not considered "on-topic" for this list, and
should be taken to other venues.

Please, when posting and/or replying to posts, keep this in mind; and take

In the copy I have (Canadian) there was absolutely no question but that
Janette brought her over - the Baroness walks out, looking a little
weird, Janette is immediately behind her, and her line is something like
"Sometimes it takes a woman to understand what another woman needs."

Actually, the controversy over this doesn't come from If Looks Could Kill
but from I Will Repay. In that episode, there's a scene in the Canadian
version where Janette tells Nick that she's never brought anyone across
because she's "too much the glutton" or words to that effect.

Without that scene though, in another episode, in a show that has nothing
but contempt for continuity, though, it's pretty clear just from ILCK
that Janette *should* be Sofia's master.

Cynthia, who still can't believe she's posting this much -- must be
something in the water <g>

Thank you! Glad somebody said it. I saw almost half the second season and
all of the third so far. There's things I miss from the second season, but
I am enjoying Forever Knight just as much. Also, when we're trying to get
a fourth season, or maybe some 2-hour movies, I just can't see that it helps
to speak so ill of our favorite show.

I'll be in that! I appreciated the LaCroix-Schanke relationship though we,
alas, saw far too little of it.

Now, let me propose another sub-faction - for those of us who appreciated
the Schanke/Janette relationship! I'm having trouble thinking of a name -
any suggestions?

I didn't like that line either; in fact I didn't like that episode (HoD), but
I did like Black Buddha, Blackwing, Outside the Lines, Blind Faith, etc.
BTW, for highbrow, listen to what LaCroix says to Nick when he shows up in
the last flashback scene in Outside the Lines.

Look, Ma! (and Jamie and Jaye) Four lines! <beams>

My personal theory on this (and it is JUST IMHO) is that Janette decided the
Baroness deserved immortality, enlisted LaCroix's assistance... and then
couldn't stop feeding. So LaCroix pulled her off, and finished the job himself.

I can just *see* him saying "If you can't control your own appetites, how do you
expect to control a fledgling's?" as he feeds the Baroness from his wrist, to
ensure that she is *his* and not *hers*.... <g> I even plotted a fanfic story
dealing with this, at one point, but it never got written.

I agree. This is why I read Tolkien, Lewis (fiction), Brooks, McCaffrey, etc.
etc.

I love to read about stuff that does not exist. Or watch it for that matter.
It is MY way af getting away. I don't want to be reminded of the world I
already do live in when I'm trying to get away from it all. FK is my way, in
TV land, to get away from the world I know.

I don't believe in vampires, but I do believe in the power of FK to help me
find space to enjoy without the worries of life infringing. Now that's cool.

Hi There-

Fox-Channel 5 - Monday morning at 1AM & if they get cable, Channel
55-Riverhead at 2:30AM on Sunday morning.

Howard Beach is about 45 minutes from my house. Do you think they would
like an FK marathon with a few friends ? Or perhaps go to an FK party at
an upcoming convention. We have a contingent going to Syndi-Con East,
Media West, Shore Leave, and Toronto Trek(tis the season...) If they want
to give me a holler, my telephone number is 914 237-6843 and 914 237-3449.
I live in Yonkers, because someone has too........

PS Your friend lives about 15 minutes away from the Web Godess
herself...but I don't think she recieves visitors :)

I heard that the "vamp mode" of Nick in that part of the scene was Ger's joke
on Catherine.

I had wondered how she got the scream and surprize to look so realistic.

I really enjoyed that scene and wish they had done more scenes with them off
duty enjoying their relationship.

the owner of the Baltimore fooball team wants the new name to be "The

I'm afraid no clever names are leaping to my mind either, but I
think it should come from that marvelous exchange in the Raven in
"PotM." I just love it when Janette says, "Actually, it was closer to
the Renaissance." I'm not always big on Schanke, but he could be so
adorably clueless, sometimes!
So, how about Lamps? Ducks? Renaissance People? College
Chums? Little-Umbrella-Thingies? Ok; so I'm totally clueless, too... :)

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone is going to attend the Con? If so, I
would really consider going, I attended last years as part of the

would be nice to meet some friendly Forkni-L faces at the other end.

Email me privately at: ithildin@m....... if you would be intersted in
