It isn't that she makes a faction, it is just that she is a VERY long
time member of the list, and was responsible for the creation of cousins
(by telling two other listmembers that they were so evil they must be
cousins - meaning related to each other; the name stuck). Now everyone
teases her about the phobia.

So frog phobias are kind of special on the list. Makes sense? No. Is it
truly related to FK? No, but its fun, and a part of the forkni-l list lore.

I've been on the list for over one and a half years, and the frog lore
was old and settled when I got here.

Well, I just have to de-lurk (is that a word?) to tell a little story that
happened to me last knight ;).

I live in a *far* south suburb of Kansas City, on about 5 acres, and my family
raises collies (and kids). Anyway, last night I came home from work, to find
my wife very distraught-2 of our collies had managed to worm out though a hole
in the fence, and were out running somewhere in the countryside. This would
not have been of such concern, execpt we had windchills of -10 last evening.
Soo, out I go into the night, *very* cold, crisp, strong wind, clear sky, no
moon-where I live, no streetlights, and no city lights-folks, it was
Cold and Dark. I'm walking up and down the blocks around my house,
yelling and whistling like an idiot for the dogs to come home-I was on a long
stretch of road with no houses or lights around, and WHAM! Out of the dark, one
of the neighborhood dogs had heard me carrying on, thought I was wanting to
play, and had run up behind me and jumped on my back. This little puppy just
happened to be large black rotweiller, weighing about 85 pounds..... I know
that I think about FK too much when the first thought that I had was 'Oh, look
it's that Dog from 'Blind Faith' and I'm gonna die... Followed by the scene
in my mind from that episode where Nick is telling A.C. Doyle to 'leave the
Baskervilles and never come back'. This broke my up completely, and I had the
company of the rotweiller for about another 20 minutes as I went about looking
for my 2 dogs (he really is just a big puppy). Anyway, several hours later
my folks found our dogs about 2 miles from the house (all's well that ends
well)and I sat down to warm up, and watch FK-and lo and behold, the repeat was
'Blind Faith'. I had a whole new appreciation for that episode-right now it has
to be my favorite third season ep. LC has some *great* lines-like "Heel, boy"
and "Dogs are for Breakfast-and then only in the worst of times".

re: other threads I've seen- Yes, I'd stay on this list and the fiction list,
although I think the spoiler list would go away if they do cancell the show.
This is a very pleasant and civil list to be on. Besides, this has to be one of
the few lists where you can use the word 'angst' without it seeming like
 hyperbole...<g>

BTW, are there any list members in the Kansas City area? and it there are, do
you have tapes of the first and second season-I have only seen a few 1st season
eps, and a few second season-lots of the third, but I've missed a few of those
too...something about it being on on Sunday night/Monday morning at 12:30 am on
the local syndicate, and midnight thursdays on USA, and having a wife and 2
kids, and a job and sleeping just don't seem to mesh...;) I know, I'll just
give up sleeping ;}.

Back to lurking....keep the fanfic coming folks, great stuff!

and a big hand for Darkangel, who is finally updating the fanfic webpage-yeah!

Okay folks. We did this once before. I cannot remember the 'group' terms
for the other affiliations, but we Raven/ettes are called:
an unkindess of Raven/ettes (a group of ravens, the bird, is an unkindness).

Group leader Susan Garrett approved the above classification and I,
personally, will accept no other.

I agree with Ping. After all, Mr. Bennett's a far better actor than to let
personal feelings show through the facade of a character. That's why it's
called "acting". ;)

Course, it still doesn't make me dislike the line any less!

Limbaugh and Stern don't need Lacroix to turn them into jackasses. I think
they're doing a pretty good job of it themselves... ;)

As far as Lacroix's powers of hypnosis... I say, if he can whammy Nat then
he can whammy Tracy. Vachon to Tracy, whilst doing his best Hamlet

Actually, before third season started, this was a pretty hot rumour. A lot
of people assumed that if another female character was being brought in, she
<had> to be another love interest for Nick.

This idea got squished pretty fast as people learned of Vachon.

I finally saw "Blind Faith" last night (this morning?) and was more
impressed by it, for personal reasons, than I think most people would be;
the regular cast was, essentially, window dressing.
Question: If Tracy was buying a puppy for her nephew, doesn't
that necessitate the existence of a sibling? I assume this was covered
when the episode first aired; what was the consensus? Does Tracy have a
sibling -- which alters the whole Vetter-family dynamic -- or is she one
of those people who refer to friends as relatives?
        "Fluffy.." She would!

Hello and salutations to all of ya'll out there.

Before I get to carried away, I just want to warn you that I'm new at
this, so please try to bear with me. Also, I tend to babble.

A little biographical info: I'm 20, single, and still live with my
parental units (I tend to either use big words and probably misspell
them, or use slang). I live in a small town called Tullahoma that is
about 1 1/2 to 2 hours SE of Nashville, TN. I go to the local community
college (Motlow State Community College) and work for the Tullahoma city
school systems. More on me later, but now for something completely
different:

I have always been crazy (some would say obsessed, but I think thats
going to far)about vampires, well, actually, anything supernatural. I
came into the Forever Knight world during the third season, and I can
only watch it off and on (Someone else is almost always in control of the
remote when it's on). I have seen some of the first two seasons on a
Canadian channel from my satelitte dish (sorry, I'm to lazy to get up and
look words up in a dictionary), and I can say that I believe that Tracy
isn't THAT bad, but I prefer Sckanke.

My other interests include: comics (mostly X-Men, but I also like Lady
Death and Gen13), Anime, Discworld books by Terry Pratchett, Highlander,
Star Wars, Star Trek, Monty Python (actually just about everything on the
Comedy Channel), and I like to read (Ha! I'll probably end up blind as a
bat (I am already, but aren't contacts wonderful) and dying from
starvation because I couldn't stop reading to eat).

I just re-read the last paragraph, and I think I need help. I'm just an
overgrown kid... Well, that's not so bad, so just forget what I said
about needing help.

[Door bursts open] HEY! who are you guys, and what's with the white
coats? HEY! LET GO! Oh, a straight jacket? You know this won't work, I
saw this David Copperfield special, and he showed me how to get out of
these. I won't stay locked up, you'll see! [Following said in
Swartzeneger (I cringe at my spelling sometimes) accent] I'LL BE BACK!!

Actually, she says that she doesn't remember anything of what happened at
the restaurant, but also that "the whole day was a blur." I think most
people tended to interpret that sentence as she only remembered bits and
pieces of that whole day. And while, yes, technically the scene in the
apartment was the night before, and not the day specified, why would she
even have a blurry memory of the day, if not because of Nick covering his
tracks with their relationship? That's the only reason I could think of,
anyway. Otherwise, her faulty memory of the day makes no sense, and has
no purpose.

Whooaah, waitaminnit. I don't recall Lacroix ever drinking champagne,
and that's something I'm sure I would have remembered, because I'm sure
people would have talked about it. Lacroix actually drinking something
other than blood would have definitely been An Occurrance, if you know
what I mean. No, I think he only gave some to Natalie.

In my totally biased opinion, only a slimy, scum-sucking mega-jerk would
ever say "beautiful things" to someone that they didn't actually care
about. But that's just me.

Actually, they can do just that. There is generally one personality
(sometimes completely submerged until treatment) who is the "record keeper".
That personalities keeps track of all of the others, as well as themself.
Some personalities may know about others but there may be others they
don't know about. Some personalities are totally unaware of any others. It
can get very complex. They can be integrated, however, but some just learn

I was just thinking, what makes the vampires skin ignite in
flames when the sun hits it? Is it some kind of rays from the sun, or is
the oxygen combined with the sun, any taugth/comments?

Subject: Babylon 5 does Forever Knight...

Damn, I've got to find out if there's an easy way to take quotes from the
Digests with my mailer, but... =)

Someone was mentioning not having anyone good to play Lacroix., and
suggested Kosh. =) Kosh is a good guy, all-together too Benevolent for
Lacroix(although, I *am* having my suspcions about Kosh, but that's
another show...) What about Bester or Morden? =) Heh... Bester could
do the hypno-thing just as well, too. ;) But, final conclusion, no one
really fits Lacroix there...

This discussion reminds me of my thoughts of a Forever Knight/B5
crossover. =) Assuming Nick doesn't get 'mortalized', he and the other
vamps would be around, although we'd be missing all our favirote
mortals... Dunno, the idea of Lacroix hounding Nick across the GALAXY
just appeals to me... Makes one wonder if vampires would be affected by
OTHER suns than ours... =)

Maybe something from vampires makes them _HIGHLY_ allergic to either UVA
or UVB rays.

On a slight science fictional tangent to this, has anyone wondered if
vampires only react to this star, and not other stars. For example, if a
vampire was, say, near Alpha Centarii (yes, I paid attention in school!),
whould he (or she, have to be PC) be immune to the sun's rays?

Wouldn't it be an amazing thing if we could *agree* on the best eps. I
mean some, like C&C, The Fix, BMV, OTL keep turning up on people's
favorite episode lists. But then there are others like HF...yikes, I
don't want to ignite *that* debate again, but jeez...nope, I think
actually agreeing on which episodes constitute "the best" would be almost
as hard as convincing Feltheimer to give us anouther season.

Actually, it's quite common in true cases of multiple personality disorder
for one or more of the personalities to know one or more of the others. My
guess is that Ellen knew nothing, Monica knew about Ellen (she *was* Ellen's
whipping boy, remember?), and Jacqueline knew everybody. How could she be
the avenger if she never knew what was happening to her fellow 'selves?'

My professors' would be so gratified that I remembered that stuff.

us, pointing out why we need to be a certain way.

Not that you'd have to <VVEEG>.

Maybe, but we are talking about LaCroix here - he who survived a burning stake

Nick-No choice but Tom Paris-he has the angst, he has the moodiness, he
has the poor relationship with his father, the self doubt-absolutey
perfect

Nat- I thin I'ld go with Janeway- a strong career womean who is also
having problems with her love life

Tracy- Kes maybe young, a bit naive sweet

Schanke-Neelix? Friendly helpful, loyal and loves to tald-and the food
connection is there

I cant think of any of the regulars who would make a goo Jeanette or
Lacroix-Can anybody else?
