Not knowing anything beyond the 3rd season, I'm wondering if there was ever
another time when vampires as a whole were as threatened as they were in
"Fever". It was pretty clear that the whole experience was rather a shock
for LC. ("What, me? Vulnerable? Can't be!") The "sense of community" may
have been new to him as well, as he watched his life, his world going down
the tubes. Of course, it was a pretty useful plot device as well.

        To all FK Felines:
This is Sugar, and I keep the rather bothersome Lone Nanette as a
pet. Naturally, he doesn't know this, but what he doesn't know won't hurt
him. One of the many good things my pet has done is introduce me to FK. I
and my adopted sister, Shadow, are in complete agreement that some feline-
oriented fiction is in order. I move that we take what has already been
written, and complete it, posting it to the FKFIC list so that all other
felines can enjoy. Who knows? Maybe the two-feet will like it too.
And I agree. The *dog* <ack> must be dealt with. In the most expe-
dient way possible.
Now, in my not-so-humble feline opinion, I do believe that Nick
would be a Manx, or possibly an Egyptian Mau. LaCroix would be an Ocicat.
Nat would definitely be an Angora. Janette -- very likely a Bluepoint Sia-
mese, or perhaps a Himalayan. I prefer the Siamese option -- they have so
much more *elan* than the Himalayan. Screed -- a Maine Coon Cat. Vachon
would be a rather scruffy tomcat of indeterminate origins (my apologies to
Apache, but I call them as I see them -- as well a cat should). Urs would
be a Himalayan, I think -- all fluff.
As for urinating on the hard drive to get your pet bipeds' atten-
tion, that is one option. I have another. I chew through the power cords
on my two-feets' surge protector -- making sure the unit is off, of course.
I have no wish to die.
It is so nice to see so many other felines on-list. If any of you
wonderful felines wish to communicate privately, please direct your mail
to my pet's e-mail address, and put Sugar or Shadow in the subject line.
As with Elf, that will insure that the not-too-intelligent thing will not
delete the messages.
Are there any good-looking male cats out there, incidentally?

Sugar, proud owner of Pat the Lone Nanette

What I specially want is that I want my dim-witted two-legs to finish my

Hey! What are you doing and knock it off! Gozer! Get away from that, you

Ahem. Hello all. Sorry about that--Gozer's not even a year old yet. He's a
little excitable.

Yes, the charity cat zine, FOREVER CAT TALES (also known as "Gozerzine"),
wherein all the monies paid for the zine will go to my cats' vet to have
ex-street-waif Gozer's leg re-broken and set properly, is almost FINISHED!
Gozer has grown up to just about the right size for this operation, so says
the vet, Dr. Duka.

Several of you are in the middle of stories, you know who you are--could you
wrap 'em up in the near future, like in a week or so? I'd be most
appreciative!

I will soon post zine ordering information--the zine will probably be $10 plus
postage. It's got some wicked good stuff in it.

Awright, awright, all these damnable cats on the Internet. It's enough to
make a Pit Bull mix sick to her stomach. Yeah, you heard me, I'm a Pit Bull
mix, flaming red hair and bright white teeth. My Mistress, whom you all know
as Wicked Cousin Tippi, gave me the name Vixen, and it suits me very, very
well. You'd think I'd be a Woofpacker or some thing like that, but Perry's a
little too tame for this bad ol' bitch. (You *did* know that bitch ain't a
bad word for dogs, right? Awright!) You might even think I'm a Cousin, 'cuz
my Mistress is a Cousin. Well, I like Uncle -- trust me, he could rub my
belly any ol' time -- but he don't seem to like dogs. Well, see if I sniff
*him* any time soon. Naw, I'm a Ratpacker all the way, man. Screed's
gnarly. 'Sides, me and him, we got lots in common, see? We both hunt rats
and critters and stuff. Plus we are both beholden to people with really long
black hair! 'Course, I may be a Merc, since I *can* be bribed -- but not
with chocolate, which is bad for dogs -- with hunks of raw meat.

See, what I don't get is this whole thing with Nick and Nat. It's pretty
crystal clear like to this dog that they are pretty hot for each other. I
bet the pheromones are thick enough to cut with a knife. Man, why don't they
just do like dogs do and run away together, and do naughty things on the
sidewalk and tear through garbage cans? Kind of reminds me of my *own*
honeymoon. Hell, maybe ol' Nick just needs to be neutered, then Nat can be
his Mistress and keep him happily ever after.

Cats ain't the only ones watchin' this show, y'know. Us dogs love FK. All
them cool glowing eyes and sharp teeth and blooooood. Grrrrr!

Hi. My name is Scrapper--and my human's name is Sarah. She's new to
this list, but we've been watching FK since 1st season.

I tend to agree that Nat would be an Angora. Urs would probably be a
Himulayan. Let's see, LaCroix would be a seal-point Siamese (the really
really high-class kind).

Nick....I see a tabby, probably orange in
shade. You know how *they* get--just have to be different, *so*
more-feline-than-thou. *sigh*

Vachon would be a longhair black feline...probably some mixed-breed with
a Siamese streak. You know what they say about black cats. And he sorta
does have a big mouth. <g> Like me. <vbg>

And yes! *lashes tail* There are handsome male cats out there! Like me!

Oh oh, Sarah's coming. Gotta go!

Okay, I'm game. I think Nick would be a yellow tabby, for lack of a
better idea. Or a Manx, that would be fitting, too. Lacroix is pure
siamese, from his temperment to his blue eyes.

In our house, we have a cat, Nikita, for La Femme Nikita. Straight
black, she's kinda halfway between a shorthair and a longhair. She isn't
poofy like most longhairs, but all her fur rides nice and close, and
very, very sleek. The most beautiful cat I've ever seen. That cat *is*

No, not without savaging what little continuity TPTB give use.

Think about it. Nick, who most definitely *was* at the auction (remember,
FAGC is a second season story) had never heard of Vachon. Vachon had, as of
Black Buddha, no contacts with the police force. In fact, he was hiding from
the Inca, so why would he consider doing anything so public as a date auction?
And who would have *asked* him? LaCroix? Tracy, who was also at the auction,
didn't recognize Vachon in the improvised morgue. The only way I could work
*her* in was by using her as a uniformed officer-- which gave me the chance to
make Stonetree her captain, and give him a cameo! <g>

Sorry, Apache. It just didn't work. Maybe, *if* I feel like it in a month or
six, I'll try to figure out a third-season scenario, so all the Vaqueras can
have a chance at Vachon.... Maybe.

They bought a new color scanner here in the department and I've wasted no
time playing with it. There are a couple fk images at this site:

members.aol.com/fkpix/fkimages/

You may need to just ftp to members.aol.com then change directories to
/fkpix/fkimages/.

The files are 24-bit JPEG files. The largest one is 120kb. I want to
emphasize that these are *scanned* as opposed to grabbed from video tape
which is what I normally do. While the latter gives you *a lot* of leeway
as to what you can digitize, the images oftentimes are blurry or noisy due
to the original medium. These scans came out remarkably well considering
the fact that I wasn't particularly familiar with the machine.

They are:

CAST2A.JPG A version of the second season cast photo. A bit on the samll
side.
CD1A.JPG A nice 2nd season publicity still of Catherine Disher.
LC1A.JPG LC vamped out. From "Dark Knight: The Second Chapter"
TRACY1.JPG Tracy at The Raven.
TRIO1A.JPG 1st season publicity still featuring Janette, Nick and
LaCroix.

Look for more to come soon (particularly some for you CoS people out there,
and you know who you are . . .). Also, the Valentine's Day images are
going to be on my other site only through this weekend, then they'll
disappear forever. The other site is: members.aol.com/romana/ and the
images are in /Immortal_Beloveds, /NickNNatPackers, and /Valentines. There
are also some images of Catherine Disher as Nat in
/romana/natpage_stuff/cdphotos/ if anyone's interested. Those'll probably
be there for a while longer than the others, though not much as I plan to
add some new ones of her soon. There's a link to this FTP site on
Natalie's Bed & Breakfast

Subject: FK Wishing Crane Project update

Hello, all!

Just a weekly update for this phase of the SOS-FK effort!

So far, we have collected 145 cranes, total. Need I say this is *not*
sufficient? <g>

For those of you who missed the first announcement, we are invoking an ancient
Japanese tradition. According to this tradition, if you fold 1000 origami
cranes, making the same wish with each crane, your wish will come true.

We are attempting to gather enough cranes to send *all three* Sony USA execs
mobiles of 1000 "wishing cranes"-- wishing, of course, for a fourth season of
Forever Knight! :)

A website has been set up with basic information on this effort. Check out

http://www.execpc.com/~echelbar/fkcranes.html

If you want to participate, we are asking that you send *at least* 10 cranes.
Once you learn how to fold them, they really only take a few minutes apiece.
If you need to learn, check out these websites:

http://www-personal.umich.edu/~adysart/origami/crane1.html

and

http://jw.stanford.edu/KIDS/SCHOOL/ART/origami/kids_origami_crane1.html

Bonnie has also offered to e-mail written instructions. Contact her at
bonnie@o.......

Or go to your local library. Most of them have origami books, and the crane is
one of the most common patterns, so any book is sure to have it.

Please use 3" (7.5cm) paper. It's important that all the cranes be the same
size, for aesthetic reasons, if nothing else.

Any fairly thin paper will fold nicely. If money is tight, why not use gift
wrap? It can make some very pretty cranes, and most of us have odds and ends
of wrapping paper lying around. Just cut it in squares 3" on a side.

If you want to use real origami paper, I suggest you buy the 15cm paper and
cut it in quarters. The 7.5cm is kinda hard to find (at least in Madison,
WI), but the 15cm is the most common, and should be readily available.

OK, so now you've taught yourself to fold cranes, and folded 10 (or 20, or 200
;> )-- what do you do with them?

You mail them to us! If you're *east* of the Mississippi-- or outside the
US-- e-mail me (gryphon@e.......) and I'll send you Viper's address. He's
Eastern Coordinator, but his internet provider keeps giving him grief over the
volume of mail he's getting from the list. If you're *west* of the
Mississipi, e-mail Bonnie at bonnie@o....... and she'll give you *her*
mailing address. She's Western Coordinator.

To ship them, fold them so that tail, head and wings are pointing up, and
flat.
It's a simple matter to open up the cranes. This way, they have very little
volume and small amounts can even be shipped in envelopes.

/\ /\ /
  \//\\/
   \/\/ just like this.

Keep in mind that 10 cranes, tucked into a business envelope (with a note on
why you love FK and want to see it continue), will weigh more than one ounce.
So, you'll need to put more than one stamp on it.

Bonnie and Viper will then assemble the mobiles and ship them off to the
appropriate Sony executives.

We can discuss the need to raise shipping costs for the cranes when we have
more cranes to work with. Until then, I'd rather concentrate people's efforts
on getting the cranes *made*.

And please remember, for this to work, you must *concentrate*, with each fold,

I think I've gone crane crazy. =P

For those making some cranes, sing this as you make your wish!

We wish for another season,
And that Tri-Star would only listen,
We wish for another season,
Of Forever Knight.

Good Programming they bring,
For you and for me,

We wish for a fourth season,
Of Forever Knight.

We wish to see more Nicola,
We wish to see more of LaCroix,
We wish to see Nat, Janette, and
Vachon with Tracy.

Make more of those cranes,
For Sony's Execs,

And we will get a fourth season,
Of Forever Knight!!

Ack! I'm horribly embarrassed and can't believe I'm posting this!! I
can't believe I even thought of this!! It must be one of those ykybw. . .
I wonder how much longer I will be considered a lurker!! =P

MAN, what timing! I was just getting ready to finish up the Nigel Bennett
story when I realized that I don't have any color pics of him. I haven't
been over to check out what you've got, but

1) Are they publicity photos

and

2) CAN I USE THEM?!?!?

The trouble is that with Paragon closing, I don't really have anyone to
ask. I went through TriStar for the interview, and, well, we KNOW how
receptive THEY are ...

Please let me know either way, since I hope to get it all done tonight.

Thanks!!!

I actually was trying to write a FK/Simpsons crossover to explain Janette's
dissappearance. She was going to open a Springfield Raven, be threatened by
Moe, and Bring homer across, so he can get revenge on Mr.Burns, who fired
him. I have so many other stories to work on now. (my Alina series, as

Ok what is it with all of the darn *cats* on the list. I say we band
together round up some scotch tape ( have you ever taped your kitty?
very funny) and take care of this problem once and for all. You know
these darn felines can get out of hand if you let them get away with
too much.

So Perry and the rest of you out there let me know what you need and I
will bring a little muscle into the game. <EG>

Let's just say I have a score to settle with *Cats* right now. I hope
at least one of them is related to the darn cat that sits on my fence
just out of my reach every night. I hate that cat....I really do

Okay, here are my top ten FK's of all time. (at least of all time at this
point :D)
These are in no particular order, and seasons are in ( ).

A Fate Worse Than Death (2)
Night in Question (3)
A More Permanent Hell (2)
Be My Valentine (2)
Last Act (1)
Dying For Fame (1) just for Nick as Rock star!
Close Call (2)
Partners of the Month (2)
Feeding the Beast (1)
Curiouser and Curiouser(2)

I was going to add Fever (3) to this list, then I remembered I could only
pick 10!

So here are the honorable mentions:
Fever(3) probably a top ten if I change my mind.
The Code(2)-just for Schanke's, "You Mother!......Superior?"
Baby, Baby(2) for the love scenes, a strong female vamp and Uncle's "Poetry
can be so decieving"

I could probably add much more, but these are the true honorable's right now.

Subject: OK, who stole it?? Believe it or Not

In our local paper it has been reported that Ripley's Believe it Or Not
(in Gatlinburg, TN) has had an antique "Vampire-Killing Kit" valued at
$5,000 stolen sometime in the past month! The kit contains: "a pistol, solid
sterling silver bullets, a dagger with a crucifix-shaped handle, decorated
with a skull and crossbones, a wooden dagger for driving through a vampire's
heart, and a vial of powdered garlic flowers."

Are TPTB so desperate that they have had to resort to this method to take
away our favorite vamps???

Or could it be LC...could there be a cure for Nick buried in the kit????

Should Nick and Tracy fly to Tennessee to try to solve the crime??

Does Nat want to analyze the purity of the bullets and do an analysis of
the powered garlic flowers? Could this be a flavorable additive to Nick's
protein shakes?

Did Vachon think that the skull & crossbones/crucifix dagger look really
cool with his black leather jacket? Could he use the wooden dagger as a
stake to help hold up a tent when he is on the road and in need of
protection?

Any other ideas as to who could have stolen the kit??? What do you guys
think???? :)

I remember someone recently offering such a kit for sale for about
$1500. Needless to say I could not afford it and besides I don't want to
kill a vampire. Make Love not War. I wonder if it is the same one. If
only I could remember who had it for sale, it was listed in one of the
newsgroups, I think the book one.

Ooooh, what an excellent idea! I can't resist. I've been re-watching all
the FK episodes I have on tape for a special project I'm doing, so I have
plenty of candidates for a Top Ten list of my favourite scenes.

These are in no particular order, and please bear in mind my FoDhood when
reading them!

1) Schanke and Janette having a heart to heart in the Raven in "Hunters".
When someone attacks you, Schanke says, you attack back - 'go straight for
the throat'. 'I know what you mean... intimately," Janette responds, and
Schanke looks at her with sheer admiration. This was the scene which turned
me into a FoD!

2) Schanke's impersonation of LaCroix in "Stranger than Fiction".

3) Also from "Stranger Than Fiction", Janette's conversation with Emily
Weiss while she's trying to restrain herself from biting the woman.

4) Nick eating pasta off a gangster's plate in "The Fix".

5) The scene where Natalie confronts Nick in the Raven in "Feeding the
Beast".

6) The breakfast scene in "Partners of the Month". "No eat?" "No eat."

7) Schanke confronting LaCroix in "Close Call". Big pats on the back for
both John Kapelos and Nigel Bennett for this one.

8) Schanke cruising along in Nick's caddy in "Dark Knight", polka tunes
playing loudly on the radio, while Nick lies in the trunk cursing him.

9) Janette getting her revenge on her pimp in "A Fate Worse than Death".

10) Schanke's outpouring of four o'clock in the morning angst to Stonetree
in "False Witness".
