I've been catching up on my e-mail while watching/listening to VH-1 and the
song
that just played is the perfect theme for Nick to Nat. It was "Wonderwall" by
Oasis.

The chorus of "maybe...you're gonna be the one that saves me"....along with the
rest of the song just seems to sum up the feeling. :)

Regarding Lisa's query about Nick looking grumpy:

If your show was wrecked by USA by killing off characters and adding dumb
bunnies, then withdrew funding, more or less ending your job/regular
paycheck, plus staying up late filming, you'd probably look/feel grumpy too.

Not a clue. I think, but I'm not sure, that the music playing in the
background at the Raven in Human Factor, (both scenes) is, and I know for a
fact that the opening music will be in it, but that's all I am sure about.

Subject: Envelopes, etc.

I'm semi lurking the past week, but...

This is the arrangment I've been taught for "professional" looking
envelopes (I worked for lawyers for four years, I've seen enough of
the little buggers...) that make it safely past the secretaries.

First of all, you start with a long envelope. These (for those who
don't know) are called #10, or "business size" envelopes.
The address that you're sending it to begins in the middle of the
envelope, about 12 lines down from the top. (Yes, I learned this back
when I only had a typewriter...) The return address gets stuck in the
upper left hand corner, about 1 line down from the literal top. I
like to leave about 3 to 5 spaces as a left border so the address
doesn't look like it was crammed in.

See the layout below (dimensions approximate)

============================================================================

  <Name> STAMP
  <Address> GOES
  <City/State/Zip> HERE

                                   <Person's Name>
                                   <Company name>
                                   <Address>
  PERSONAL & CONFIDENTIAL <City/State/Zip>

===========================================================================

Notice no mention of FK on the envelope... and the "Personal and
Confidential" to the left of the address. This, 90% of the time, will
get the envelope past the secretary and to the boss without being
opened.

Cousin, Cousin! My post was not meant in ANY way to reflect what a Cousin is
or is not. My post was meant to be nothing more than a bit of humor to
alleviate some of the depression I sensed going about the list, which many
people wrote to me privately and said I accomplished. ;) I thought everyone
assumed that. But, as they say, "It is easier to destroy than to create," so
instead of tearing up my own list why not post your own? Hmm? ;) There are,
after all, so many more than ten reasons to be a Cousin.

many reasons to be a Cousin, even if we do not *have* to have them. ;)

I wouldn't get too up in arms about Jon Slan's comments. Getting enough
episodes to strip was probably a goal, but nothing in his post implies that
it had to *stop* after 65 episodes. Circumstances (namely Sony's debt and
possibly other things) are working against us here, but I don't think the
plan has been to cancel it at this point all along.

I certainly would. There are lots of other mailing lists around dedicated to
shows which were cancelled eons ago. As for me, any TV show that I end up
liking enough to join a mailing list for it, becomes part of me. I cannot
and will not dismiss it from my mind when it no longer airs. As Starman
said, "What you liked about that [TV show] will go on forever because it
became a part of you." Hope I'm not getting overly sentimental. And anyway,
since FK will be stripped and syndicated, it will never really 'end' anyway.
New fans will discover the show, and some fans like myself who are still
waiting to see some episodes from the second and third seasons, will still
want to discuss events in episodes. And I will be here for the duration.

 Since it's doubtful that LC
will change, don't you think Nat would have to make a radical change in
her thinking in order to be happy with LC? If she didn't, wouldn't she
and LC simply be at loggerheads all the time (which would soon drive LC
away since he expects those he cares about to embrace his outlook)?>>

actually, no./ I think LC would stay around even more persistently if Nat
*didn't* change b/c look how he hangs around Nick who *never* does what he asks
now.

This is an exact copy of a letter I received from USA Networks, in response
to my Save FK letters, while I was in Toronto. I kid you not.

[Address removed]

Dear Mr. Randell:

Your resume was forwarded to me by Kay Koplovitz, Founder, Chairman & CEO
of USA Networks. Although your considerable credentials are impressive and
makes one in my position wish we had an opportunity that was appropriate
for your background, we unfortunately do not have a situation at this point
in time.

I assure you we will put you in our active file and when the right
opportunity unfolds, we will contact you and inquire as to your status.

I wish you speedy success in your career gameplan.

Sincerely,

James Horvath

Oh, I definitely would stay on the list as long as it exists and I could
get hooked up to a phone. Not only is this list one of the very few places
where the people aren't psychotic or pompous asses, but I also get to
inflict my fiction on you and subject you to my opinions... and you can't
escape. ::grins::

Not many places like this you can get to by modem and I hold on to my good
things for as long as they last.

Topic 1--Origami Cranes

Are we folding only one type of crane for the mobile(s)?
I assume it's the traditional, puffy-center one, right? My
favorite is the Nesting Crane (with the accordion wings),
but I've already folded ten of the regular ones. My other
problem is that I had to use 7 inch paper--is this also
going to mess up the mobile? If so, *doomo sumimasen.*

Topic 2--Water Coolers

Okay, would one of you lovely listfolk please tell me
what in the world you're talking about re: the hapless
Captain and his agua problem? Is this another infamous
war reference, or is it from an episode?

Thanks in advance,

Idalia

who's guessing that Rebecca ("Dying for Fame," Season 1)
really did get to live on after her "death" since one of the
two songs everyone in Toronto listens to is her "On the
Dark Side of the Mirror." Too bad they don't play her "Fan
Kill"--maybe Courtney Love could cover it? ;) "Fan kill--the
only justice I know!"

Subject: A REASON to stay on the list

I've been giving this a lot of thought and I have an idea.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but whether or not we get a fourth season,
the summer will be taken up by War7.

After that, I have a proposal in the (hopefully nonexistant) possibility
that we do not get a fourth season in the fall:

What do we like to discuss? New episodes. Who says we need TriStar to
honor us with them? I say we do it ourselves. No, we're not going to fly
everybody in and film things and all that, but how many times have you read
a FKFIC story and said "You know, that would make a great episode." I know
I have.

Sorcha and I would like to volunteer to start up a committee to select one
script per week to "air" as that week's story. We then have new material
-- the SAME material -- to discuss.

I also envision doing this the way it would actually be done, with stories
that might have actually aired. This means that the characters can
progress as they might have done in a fourth season.

I'm really interested in what people think of this, and how many people
would like to help choose the stories -- and how many would be interested
in writing them!

I'd say "respond by private e-mail" but I think this might be something for
everyone to talk about, so instead I'll say respond by private e-mail if
you're interested in writing or choosing.

What do you all think?
