I haven't seen Human Factor yet, and won't till summer. Needless to say trying to avoid spoilers is like trying to avoid lions in a zoo, but I've only managed to be partially spoiled, as you may be able to tell by the dream I had last night of my version of Human Factor! I was supposed to go see Janette, because I knew she was in this episode. I went to this movie theatre that was supposed to stand for the Raven. I ran into 2 friends from high school, and chatted with them, and then realized Janette was with them. She acted the same as she always did, but then people started talking about getting something to eat. Suddenly one of my high school friends became a friend at AUC and she said I'm getting a sandwich. Then Janette said of great! I thought for a moment that she could eat normally and everything, but then she said but I need blood for myself. I then went inside Janette's head and felt her sort of tension or malaise at being back at the Raven and just general sadness that was enveloping her, even tho she acted normal to every- one. Then a man, who was apparently a friend of hers, came over with all these gifts such as fine cologne, wine, chocolate, etc. He then knelt sorta in front of her movie theatre and asked her to marry him. She was really delited but I was wondering how that would work, considering she was still a vampire. Oops.. that was supposed to be delighted :) I don't know what she said... Anyway, then Nick was there talking about something... GWD, the actor, mentioned to me that he didn't like the episode too much in theory because they theme was so obvious, tho he of course liked the plot and Janette being back. THen Nick and Janette were talking, and pointing to pictures of architectural embelishments on buildings, which including alternating images of devils and something supposed to represent goodness. And Janette expressed her annoyance, boredom, frustration, with these perennial questions, and ex- plained that that was her problem. Nick didn't really respond to that. So that's it! How close was I? PLEASE DON'T TELL ME!!! I'll be no-mail for a week.. When I got home, I immediately checked the printed out bios of the actors (from Gaylin Walli's Web Page), and found that it was Deb Duchene. What I didn't know, but soon found out, was that the following actors were also in the movie: Paul Gross (DUE SOUTH), Jennifer Dale (Baronness Sophia, ILCK/TDF - FK), Blu Mankuma (Capt. Subject: Syndie Response Hi Everyone, I don't know what reaction everyone will have to this, but it's better than a flat-out NO. My local syndi pre-empted "Human Factor" to show the movie, "Project X". I eMailed them to complain/request they rebroadcast "HF", and request a 4th season. (I had phoned too.) This is the eMail response I received: Thanks for your note about "forever Knight." We had to preempt the program on Sunday, February 11th to air a movie we had to squeeze in because of a contract. We are currently evaluating our programming for Fall and appreciate your comments. We are awaiting word from the syndicator whether the show will return for another season. I'm addicted. I can't stop writing these. Someone help! Argh! The Top Ten Things You Won't See (But Might Like To See) in the Season's Last Episode: 10. Lacroix in green suede leiderhosen singing "Eidleweiss" with the Von Trap children. 9. Nick becomes a monk in New Skete and raises German Shepherds. 8. Schanke, alive and well, is worshipped as a fertility god on a small uncharted Pacific island. 7. Nat finds the "cure" and it turns out to be watching Barney and Friends until the "beast within" runs screaming for the door. 6. Reese, imitating Elvis, pulls out a gun and unloads a full clip into the water cooler then belts out his rendition of Jailhouse Rock. 5. Nick shaves naughty messages into his sideburns. 4. Tracy and Vachon buy a minivan and move to the 'burbs where a door-to-door salesman sells Tracy a clue. (Unless he's Welsh, then he sells her a clew.) 3. Lacroix becomes a zen gardener and devotes his life to healing all the sick bonsai trees of the world. 2. Nat, having been exposed to so much formaldehyde, discovers that she is now immortal, or, at the very least, pickled and preserved. ...and the number one thing you won't see but might like to... 1. Nick decides to pursue his dreams of becoming a letter carrier and hopes that by delivering the mail on time, he can repay humanity for his sins! (Other candidates included: Tracy becomes the son her daddy always wanted. Nat quits shaving her legs and runs off with a Carouche. Lacroix becomes a singing sensation as the fourth "Chipmunk". They find Jimmy Hoffa buried in Vachon's hair. Janette goes into business inventing the stake-proof Wonderbra.) Enjoy! Thank you, Kayla ===== Ms. H. Onoyama Vice President Sony Corproration of America [Address removed] Hajimemashite. My name is Kayla Clark and I tutor elementary school students in my home. I am honored to have this opportunity to write to you. Please accept this taste of Southern Hospitality as a gift from me. It is to thank you for the marvelous entertainment that Sony brings to me through the television series, "Forever Knight." The show is loved by many of my friends locally (and internationally through the internet). To honor those associated with "Forever Knight," fans of the show have given blood and contributed over $8000 to the Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Thousands of the fans are computer literate consumers of high technology products. We have asked for merchandise such as videos, audiotapes of the actors' monologues, novels and clothing. Please forgive me for asking, but could you help me to understand why Sony has chosen not to market "Forever Knight" products? Mr. Feltheimer, the new President of Sony Pictures Entertainment, has cancelled the show. Please forgive me for being the bearer of this news. His actions have caused me to feel unappreciated as a dedicated customer. I have written to him several times and never received an answer. I humbly ask for your help in understanding why your show is being cancelled. I understand that a third party offered to buy "Forever Knight" at Mr. Feltheimer's price. He declined the offer and raised the price two more times, until the third company was forced out of the purchase. If it is appropriate, I humbly ask for your help in understanding why Mr. Feltheimer would not allow the show to be sold. I have the deepest respect for you and the Sony Corporation. If I have, in any way, indicated otherwise, it is due to my shameful lack of understanding of Japanese. Please forgive me. Thank you very much for your time and consideration. What follows is one yell into the net and much discussion of first, second and third season (no spoilers) ;) First, to Alex Cruz at AOL; for some reason, the mailer keeps bouncing my notes to you. Just wanted to thank you for your nice comments on my story... and hope you could send me a copy of your last e-mail, I accidentally zapped mine out of existence. E-mail me offlist please! Second, silliness with Nat's hair. ;) I loved that little hat. I even liked the scrunchies and mega-clips she used to use to keep her hair out of her face, but I think the fact that they had it too tight and we used to bitch about how bad her hair looked made them take it down. Now it looks lovely, but impractical. CD has my kind of hair, escapist hair---unless you tack down every strand with hairspray and clips, it gets loose. They should have stuck with the hat (which I don't remember seeing after DARK KNIGHT). As for Nick's police background---he "helped" the London police with the Ripper case in the 1880's (Bad Blood) and also did street work in Chicago in the '30s (can't remember the ep, but it was 2nd season), and then went to the Academy because he realized he didn't have the background to do a really good job on the street. Larry faked his last set of records when he moved to Toronto so it looked like he transferred from the Chicago police department---which is very odd, when you think about it. I mean, how much do Canadian and US police departments have in common? Can you just switch like that? We are separate countries, after all... at least on paper... *Second season vs. first season vs. third season.* Pay attention, there may be a quiz... The biggest casualty over time has been the humor, I think, because now Natalie and Nick can't make those little vampire jokes in front of Tracy, like they used to in front of Schanke, who had no idea what was going on. So that sense of friendship and silliness got lost when someone else found out about part of their secret. While I understand _why_, for storytelling purposes, they don't let Tracy in on Nick's being a vampire, it's getting old, and hurting the show. This is part of my vote for the season and/or series wrap-up----tell Trace the truth. It ought to be fun. :) Someone new mentioned being confused about why Nick fell for Emily Weiss in STF if he was supposed to be in love with Natalie. Well, right then, he wasn't. This was about six months after ONLY THE LONELY (1st season), which left them just "aware" of each other, nothing definite said. Personally, I LOVED that they were only very good friends first season---Nick could bite, seduce, and fall for the neck of the week, and Nat was there to throw popcorn at and make smartass remarks. And she didn't seem to MIND, either. The whole first season I thought she was too smart to fall for someone with so many problems, and even OTL didn't change my opinion. DYING TO KNOW YOU is perfect for this; Denise Ford, a psychic, finds out Nick's a vampire, and it almost looks like she's falling for him (too bad this ended the way it did) and Natalie is great! She helps Denise get her act together, she wears comfy but cute clothes, and she sympathizes in a _totally_ non-bitchy, strong way with Nick. And also in first season (CHERRY BLOSSOMS) when it looks like Nick's cover is blown and he'll have to leave town, he promises to keep in touch with Nat and to keep looking for a cure. Unlike in BLACK BUDDHA, where he's about to split without telling her at all!!! Aarrrrrrrggggghhhh. Natalie still had to lie a lot about Nick first and second season, but she didn't have to conceal as much from Schanke since he insisted on remaining clueless. And not knowing anyone else involved with vampires made her less defensive, I think---watching Tracy go down the same path she's been on for four years may be what's shortening her fuse this season. It's not reassuring in the least to have a younger version of yourself around, ready to make all the same mistakes, and you can't even warn her of some of the obvious pitfalls. Of course, first season was also a lot lighter 'cause we thought Lacroix was dead, dead, dead. There was no outer threat to Nick then, just his own problems with becoming mortal. He was a lot calmer when Lacroix was out of the picture. So was Janette. There was less danger to Natalie and Nick's other mortal friends, although there was always the Enforcer possibility to be considered. I still think it was a good idea to bring him back... but there are times I'm watching FALSE WITNESS or HUNTED or FEEDING THE BEAST when I could really wish he'd die again. Oh, and anyone who is willing to make good second-gen 2-hour first and second season copies---yell, will you? I have my own set of 6 and 4 hours, so I shouldn't be in front of anyone who doesn't have them at all, but I've been thinking of making some videos and I'd really, really like decent starter stuff to work with. Discuss amongst yourselves. There will be no pop quiz as threatened. Instead, feel free to write a short essay entitled Why I'm Glad Lacroix Isn't Dead or How Janette Changed From First to Second Season or Why Nick Really Shouldn't Be With Natalie, or any other topic that comes to mind. Bonus points awarded to those who work in example episodes from all three seasons (without spoilers). :) Christina, vqrw76a@p....... "Fiction is Art and Art is the triumph over Chaos...
