Agreed! Terri was VERY nice when I spoke to her weeks ago about info on FK
merchandise. She said she would check into FK merchandise for me and she
even called me back to up date me. She is on our side (or so it seems),
let's not mess it up. Write to her, but don't jam her phone lines.

Subject: murder and Latin tag line

Tintinnitus is the medical term for ringing in the ears.

<<Vampires *know* humans are "human". They were one once. It depends on
the individual vampire how much this means to him or her. To LaCroix, it's
practically meaningless. To Nick, it means a great deal.>>

This and the rest of Leslie GrantSmith's excellent post made me think of
yet another angle on the question, "How can vampires think of mortals as
cattle when they used to be mortal themselves?"
How many people do you know that hate children? Can't stand to be around
them, despise them, have no concern for their needs and wishes? Every one of
those people was once a child.
They *outgrew* being children and think adults are better than
children. They refuse to remember or recognize anything they as adults have
or once had in common with actual living children. If they ever had to be
children again themselves, they would be horrified.
Very few adults actually respect children as children, or appreciate
them in spite of their physical and mental limitations compared to adults.
Adults have a hard time remembering what it was like to be a child, even when
they want to. The older one gets, the harder it is to remember. And there are
plenty of societies in which adults see nothing wrong with feeding off other
people's children, or even their own, not literally but by exploiting their
labor and their bodies.

Anybody who wants to see what Jon Feltheimer and Rod Perth look
like and are web-enabled, check out the web site for the "Official Journal
of the Hollywood Radio and Television Society" at
http://www.hrts-iba.org/ollie.html. There are photos and possibly
interesting information under most of the index headings.
Oh -- and be sure to check out "About our President, Rod Perth."
Definite dartboard potential there. Jon Feltheimer is going to stay on for
a year as a past president or something. There is some information there
on Rod's "platform" as president, and a quote or two, if I remember right.
Perhaps some devilishly clever mind out there can turn any info
gleaned from this site to our advantage. . . Sally

Subject: My new family

Greetings

My apologies for the non-topic post but I feel so proud and just wanted
to share the good news and past out the virtual cigars.

I've just come back from spending a weekend in Cornwall and whilst I
was there visited Animal World (a nineties zoo), which participates in
the Adopt an animal scheme. Upon entering the animals at night section
I immediately fell in love with all the little cutesy bats, they are
fruit bats and are currently in danger of extinction (just like our own
Nick (sniff, sniff).

Anyways to cut a long story short I have adopted a bat and thus named
him "Nicolas Knight" so if anyone finds themself in Cornwall stop in
and say hello. I'm trying to entice my friends and family to adopt the
rest of the family and name them LaCroix, Janette et al, wouldn't that
be fun?

Ahem ... there seems to be some confusion here... there are at least two
people proclaiming themselves Toni on this list. One who was recently in,
lets see, Egypt was it? and identifies with a.. uh ... what was it?.. "small
furry tailless animal". The original model was in Las Vegas and most
definitely does not identify with anything quite so powerless... (And who I
might add is already a Cousin and seems to remember in the _last_ war that
she and Cousin Jackie W. were enjoying the limo ride while some of the
Vaqueros were on the _receiving_ end of the "kicking" ... hmmmm, Torrey?).

-"Cousin" Toni <tch@w.......> (Who would not be deterred
from similar ..um...shall we say... activities next time merely because her
little namesake happened to be among the Vaqueros...) Think about it little
Toni -- choose wisely....

She's so right -- there are two things _they_ have to believe -- that *we*
have to believe --
        1) the movement to save Forever Knight is growing and
        2) we won't go away...

I believe both --
Every day someone meets a new fan, _makes_ a new fan and we find out more
about how this crazy TV business operates.
When this whole campaign started ***we said we were in for the long haul***
-- the show took a year to bring back before -- fans of other show have
worked longer. The set has been struck before and rebuilt, shows have been
canceled and called "dead" before and just as mysteriously revived.

I'm willing to be polite, but I'm not so easy to call off once I'm committed
-- I suspect a lot of you are like me... (Just remember we have the
immortals on _our_ side...)

I understand the request to stop any inappropriate activity -- if that was
what was happening -- but it is always highly _appropriate_ activity for
fans of a show to:
        Continue writing TriStar,
Continue calling & writing local stations
        Continue bringing across new fans
Continue to ask for tapes & merchandize
        Continue writing sponsors
        Continue making posters
        Continue agitating for media attention
        Continue to publicize the show
        and -- continue asking questions....

Annemarie also said

>with the buyout and the letter from JP has possibly given us the shot in the
>"tush" that we all needed. If your "tushie" hurts, then you can't sit on it! :)

So get up and write! Call your local paper! Call a national
magazine! Call someone who knows someone who might give us a clue. Bring
across a friend! Write a sponsor! To quote Emma Goldman, "don't mourn,
organize"!

Aesop called this phenomenon being "a dog in the manger". Somebody please
explain the logic to me on the part of Tristar's executives where they have a
show they don't want to produce anymore because "it's not making enough
money", and when someone offers to BUY IT from them for money, they turn them
down and drive them off.

I agree with another's suggestion, that TRISTAR was, perhaps, doing what many
self-destuctive, money hungry corporations do nowadays--deliberately run a
project into failure as a tax loss.

Methinks it is now a matter of idiotic pride, folks. The only logic I can
think of is that Tristar is actually afraid that whomever obtains FK will
promote it properly, run it at a decent time and turn it into a success,
EMBARASSING SOMEONE at Tristar for their decisions.

If there are any old timers out there who might be able to answer
this question, I'd be pleased. I've a list of Round Robin stories
that I think represent the sum of said stories posted to FORKIN
(early on) and FKFIC (once it was created). Could someone take a
look at this list and tell me if something is missing or painfully
wrong? Note that this list doesn't count story challenges, just
linear part I-get-the-next-chapter fiction. Okay, with one exception:
I included The Nick (I Am) Poetry Game that was wonderful. Here's the
list I came up with...

Round Robin #1: A Thirst for Vengeance (Published in Forever Net #2
    by Interknight Press.)
   Round Robin #2: Hop Aboard
Round Robin #3: In Cyberspace, No One Can Hear You Bleed [unfinished]
Round Robin #4: Blood in the Streets
Round Robin #5: The Tuna Reverse Round Robin
   Round Robin #6: The Round-Robin Semi-Universal Crossover
Round Robin #7: The Forever Knight Star Trek Crossover [in progress]
Round Robin #8: Night Life, a story by a bunch of insane fans
   Round Robin #9: Ringfinger [unfinished]
Round Robin #10: In Search of LaCroix [in progress]
Round Robin #11: The Nick Game [poetry]
Round Robin #12: Shadowed Miracles [in progress]

Dalton, these are *excellent* questions to be asking. And actually I have
to post a minor correction. Susan misheard where it came from. She
thought the person said Variety Online. When a search for that came up
empty yesterday, she got in contact with her source again. It was "a
variety online service" (she was tired--the person woke her up with this
info). Meaning, it was an entertainment-like online service. Apparently
it costs a lot of money to subscribe to, and lots of really powerful TPTB
subscribe to it. She is working on getting more information. But the
information we got from this person *is legitimate*. We'll pass on
information as soon as we get it.

I *was* gonna' send a cream cheese filled king cake to Jon F, but he can eat
. . . well . . . ummm . . . dirt. Anyway, I am gonna' send one to KayK and
to one or two of the Sony Higher Ups. I'll put some time into constructing
a letter for the Japanese management. This is what I'm thinking of saying,
in a more orderly fashion than presented here:

1) Jon F has misled thousands of fans
2) T/C could be making money merchandising FK
3) Jon F turned down the sale of FK and then cancelled it
4) Thousands of fans love the show
5) The show's fans have put lots of time, energy and money into getting it
renewed for another season
6) The customer service of Jon F and his people shows a serious lack of
respect for the fans

Please e-me with any suggestions for additions or changes.

I agree with what others have said tonight. It's time to "go over his head"
(come to think of it - while I'm in the vicinity, perhaps I'll just *take*
Jon's head with my small but serviceable wagasachi <eg>).

This show will not die. We won't let it. I made a pilgrimage to the statue
of Eshu and left that mischievious spirit a gift of my DieHard pin (with SOS
written on it in red) and some change. I've e-mailed, faxed and snailed
till my fingers ache. I've cajoled all my friends and relatives into
calling and writing and I've distributed hundreds of flyers. And, that's
nothing compared to what so many others have done. Unless Parriot and/or
Ger have really given up (and, honestly, I suspect JP has since he's moved
on to "Matt Waters"), the show *will* go on.

My friend who is a writer for the UTA(University Of Texas Arlington) Paper
is putting together an article about fandom. She wants to find out about The
fanclubs and why they were founded( For the stars as well as the Show).

If any Fan club Presidents could contact me throug hprivate e mail I would be
delighted to aske you the questions.

Also she wants to highlight the SOS FK effort. She is also a fan, so she
wants to do it right. She needs names addresses and a cost breakdown of the
NAPTE visit. She needs to find out the type of stuff you want the general
public to know and maybe reach those fans that haven't yet heard of the
entire bum deal. This is distrubied all over Alrington, not just on campus
and is reasonalbly well read. The Arlington campus is very large, we can
get more soldiers for the battle we are fighting.

Her deadline is Monday so please send me all the info ASAP.. I am webbless,
but tshe will publish the web addresses in the article.

Please help us, we need all the good publicity we can get.

Pat Elrod is a card carrying member of the Nigel Bennett Fan Club, Of couse
she's a cousin!

I know many authors who love FK. There is a romance dedicated to Ger and
another Vampire writer lives for Vachon. These are people who may actually
be a great asset to our campaign. Cool!

The address is owner-SF-News@s........ I'm sure you can get a copy of
the release from his address. I am sorry I didn't same it to forward it to
the list since so many people seemed to have been interested.

Subject: Signing my Death Certificate

Okay, I may be signing my own death certificate, seeing as how I get so much
email already, but I am going to take a poll.

This afternoon, at lunch, I was discussing endings of television shows with a
friend. I was saying that I would like to see Forever Knight end with Nick
gaining his mortality (faction alliances aside). She agreed, considering that
it was the whole premise of the show, anyway. Now should the evil people at
Tri-Star continue with their current path and Forever Knight remains canceled
(knock on wood, rub the rabbits foot, whatever seem appropriate), I wanted to
nkow what the general consensus is about Nicholas regaining his mortality as
 the show's ending.

Here's what you do. Email me privately at ctucker@m........
Answer this question with a yes or a no:

Do you think that Nicholas should regain his mortality as the ending of Forever
 Knight?

Please put your answer IN THE SUBJECT LINE. This will make it much easier to
sort through my mail and keep track of the poll. I'll post the results every
 week.

The Book dedicated to Fk And Ger is a Harlequin Temptation called Nightwing(
you will have to go to a used book store and look in the romance section) It
is a vampire story, and very good.

The other FK fna author is Madeline BakerAKA Amanda Ashley
Her Amanda AShley Book is called Embrece THe Night And is out on the shelves
now. It is one of the best vampire books I have read ( I have read many,
believe me) and is in the romance section. Ms. Baker is a Vaquera, big time.

Another author who is a fan is haveing a book Dark Whispers out in Jan 97 Her
name is Michele Hauff and has a vampire romance.

have fun reading and for a more comprhevisive vampire book list email me
privatly.
