Subject: Party Report From RI

Hello all:

Thanks to those who attended the RI FK party! I've had a _hellatious_ week
at work, but now I'm finally getting to post a report and quote list. We had
8 people, a good showing for a dark and stormy night. We watched several
first-season Canadian episodes (thanks, Maria), as well as an episode of
Dracula: The Series with Ger, and the blooper reel. Here's the quote list,
divided up by 1) referring to goings on at the party and 2) referring to the
Canadian eps.

Quote List, RI Party, January 27th

1)
The cheese ball is cursed! (this, as the VCR, TV, lights, etc. all go off at
the moment the cheese ball is stabbed...)

When she stakes something, she really stakes it.

2)
Imagine eating raw frog's legs: you know what he feels like...

Look, he got a good parking space!

It takes days... but then they talk about it for eternity.

What is the difference between mitigated and unmitigated terror?

Everything's on remote. So's Nick.

I think he can only do that when he puts the collar of his coat up!

Hit and run confessions all over Toronto, strirring up business for the
church. They call him the Holy Ghost...

He _would_ be blond if he were ever in the light! (A closet blond)

"You can have eternal life." (Thanks, I've already got one.)

Magnum, Magnum P.I. (mutated from "Magda, Magda's inside")

You're 'fired'.

Does Ger have fungus on his chin? All vampires do...

Part of the compulsion to kill: they must have their own designer lipstick,
too.

Dead Body, the new fragrance by Coty. Especially for coroners and victims.

Happy ending: a contradiction of terms?

Accordion playing trophy: more than Iwanted to know about Stonetree. That's
what you call character development... or assassination.

Thank you one and all: the next party will be held upon confirmation of
season four!!

Subject: Terry Johnson? Where is he now?

I sent a letter to Terry Johnson and for some reason it was returned. I
used the address I got from the list. It was stamped by the Post Office
"Returned to sender: Undeliverable as addressed - forwarding order expired."
I used the address for Columbia/TriStar at [Address removed]

Help, anyone, please? I'd like to send it to his correct address.

Hey all. Sorry to send this to the list, but someone from FORKNI got in
touch with me about the "calendars" but their reply address isn't kosher.
AOL keeps telling me there's no such thing as this person's address. So,
whoever's out there with the name UAMWEST at college in Memphis, please
contact me!

Also anyone else wanting Tippi's Naught FK Calendar, contact me (over 18 only
please) and I'll put you on the mailing list. ;)

Thanks!

Subject: Re: FK history: Nat & LC?

Concerning the scenes in BMV:

Nat gave Nick pill box inscribed "LOVE Nat" inside. She told him it was "a
kind of Valentines gift thing." I believe this is a true expression of how
she feels. Being a career woman may not necessarily have liberated her enough
to feel comfortable with "making the first move" in their relationship.

The embrace Nick gave Nat in the restaurant AFTER LaCroix left was very
telling I thought. The way GWD actied this scene was wonderful IMHO. It left
no doubt in my mind that he DID love her. He was acting for all the world to
prevent the retribution he had agreed to when LaCroix walked away from Fleur.
It was a desperate move. One made out of love.

I believe that LaCroix is very aware of how Nick feels about Nat. The
empathic bound they share as master and creation generates it. But, just as
humans cannot always tell how we feel (because of inner turmoil or
conflicting emotions) I believe LaCroix cannot always tell clearly how Nick
feels because of the volume of his own emotional state. This would account
for why he could not tell Nick was bluffing at the restaurant. He was too
involved (self absorbtion being an art form LaCroix and Nick both take to new
heights) with his feelings of loss over his memory of Fleur to read Nick
well.

I also think that there has been an evolution in LaCroix perception of his
relationship to Nick. Some of the old antagonism seems to have been replaced
with a paternalistic and perhaps (although very slight) Protectiveness? Else,
why did he take Nick to the exorcist in SoB? He was confronted with Natalie
there. He also was confronted with Natalies intervention in NiQ without any
apparent bitterness.

Just some thoughts to ponder.

As always, consider the source.

Newbie Knightie

Personally, I think they're already there. Has anyone looked at
their Saturday night line-up lately? Looks like they stuck every crude
idea ever thought of into a pot, dished out bowls at random, and said
"Here, eat. Enjoy."

Arghhhh!!!!! I've just looked all over my TV guide and WFXT Channel
25 isn't showing Forever Knight at all this week. (They WERE showing
it twice a week...till now.) Guess they didn't pay much attention
to us.

If you live in the Boston area, please call them. I sure will,
just tried now but got a recording saying they're open from 8-5 M-F.

Look, unless we get definite word that FK is dead and nothing we do
can save it before Agi-con in March, I'd say go ahead and agitate there.
We have heard that the cast will be on hold until June, remember? That
sounds like we should keep trying in March unless we've already heard
that we shouldn't.

Hi, Guys!

I'm snowed in here (only about the fifth time I've ever seen snow, so this is
so cool!) and have been watching TV to stay sane. Anyway, I turned on USA
and what did I see? An episode of Highlander with GWD as the guest star. I
kept wanting to shout at the screen "Nick, get out of the sunlight!" (And
for all you lusty Knighties out there, there is one butt shot of GWD, but
he's wearing loose pants <sigh>.)

USA seems to play their Highlander episodes twice (once during the day, once
at night) during the week, so maybe they'll show this weekend episode again.
I thought I'd let y'all know so you can be on the lookout.

BTW, I would love to see "Be My Valentine" and "Only the Lonely". Can anyone
out there help me?

Subject: Oh-oh...

Hi, folks --

Well, no sooner do I post my last message, than WFXT makes a bare-faced
liar out of me -- FK is NOT on their schedule for this weekend at all.
(unless *TV Guide* has a printing error. It lists no programming at all
after 1:00am on Sunday, so FK *might* be on Sunday at 1:00am. I'll let you
know). They seem to have replaced FK with WWF Wrestling on Saturday and
filled the rest of the late night schedule with "US Customs: Classified" and
"Lazarus Man". On Sunday they're either running five hours of WWF Wrestling
(guide *says* one hour) or going off the air, or there's an error in TV
Guide.

I know I'm too sensitive, but it's difficult not to feel, well,
personally *insulted* that after a month of letters and phone calls, WFXT
sees fit to *pull* FK. They've been running FK for a long time. I wonder
what kind of late night ratings they're used to getting, anyway? Does "US
Customs: Classified" blow the top off the charts? I've never seen them run a
promo for FK -- indeed, before DOW II I'd never seen *a* promo for FK, I
didn't know they made them!

Has anyone else ever had this insane, uncontrollable urge to collect all
the WWF "wrestlers" into one room (we could roast a whole cow over a barbeque
pit -- skin on -- that should do it), nail the doors shut, and, uh... well
this is a family list, so never mind. But the former General Lucius and I
would thoroughly enjoy ourselves! (actually, if we taped the whole thing,
USA would probably air it!)

That address, once again:
      Mr. Jim Byrne, Programming Director
      WFXT
      [Address removed]

Suddenly acutely aware of why *I'm* a Cousin...

DARN IT!

My [previous] plan for today was to buy about a dozen squirt guns for
whichever cast members would be lucky enough to grab one -- AND one of
those big "Super Soaker" squirt guns for Uncle. It would probably hold a
whole gallon of water (or ribena)! The mental imagery of the cast and crew
"running for their lives" from Nigel who is chasing them (totally vamped
out -- on rollerblades) with a fully loaded super soaker puts a very
large, wicked grin on my face!

Since it's only -13 in Denver right now, I'm sure I would have gotten some
very strange looks buying a bunch of squirt guns today!

ALSO: can someone post the 800 number to order Fred Mollins' CD to the list
please? I can't find it, and I'm sure I'm not the only person who will
want it. It's supposed to come out this month if I remember correctly.

Subject: letter from Tandy Corporation

Many moons ago (well, a bit over one moon ago, actually, it just *seems* like
many moons) I wrote a letter to Radio Shack thanking them for their sponsorship
of FK. I received the following letter in today's mail. (All typos are mine):

Dear Dr. Messing:

Thank you for your recent letter regarding the Television (sic) program
"Forever Knight". We are truly grateful for your input. As you probably
know, most shows on television are renewed or dropped based on a number
of elements, advertiser support being only one of these. Obviously, ratings
are also important.

Another major factor is audience loyalty and your letter and others like it
can play more of a role than one might imagine. (If only they knew ;) - LSM)
If you have not already done so (I have, of course - LSM), please contact the
USA Network with your thoughts. They will listen! In the meantime, we are
forwarding your letter to them for their consideration (Cool - two for one!
:) - LSM).

Again, thank you for your correspondence. Please feel free to write or call
us at anytime (sic) with comments or questions regarding the media or Radio Sh
Shack. You may reach me personally at the above address (i.e.: Central
Advertising Agency, [Addresss removed )
or call at (000) 000-0000, my direct line. Sincerely, Robert L. Quaglia, media
director

Not bad! I had been wondering whether I'd be getting any response from the var
various sponsors I wrote (so far, the only letter I got was a form letter
from my local syndicate). Now not only to receive a letter, but to receive
such a positive, polite, and helpful one was quite encouraging. :) Anyone
in the Fort Worth area want to give him a call?

cheers, Lynn messing@a.......

Maybe it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I'm sort of a reverse
vampire: I wake up at dawn (and hopefully go back to sleep) but sundown
comes and I start getting very sleepy. It doesn't even matter if I shift time
zones, it still happens when the sun is there or goes down. (Yes I can
overcome it, and no I don't burst into flame when I'm out after dark.) I get
thrilled when for a period it doesn't happen. (But then, I'm not harmed if I
miss the "deadline".) If it mattered, I sure would go looking in the almanac
for sunrise/sunset.
