Subject: USA giving FK another airing

Someone on AOL posted to say that USA is promoing Forever Knight for Friday
night, but didn't get a time. Probably something awful like opposite the X
Files--kiss of death.

Anyone check the NYC TV Guide to see if FK is listed on Monday night at 10
on USA? Someone said it's listed in their TV Guide but I forget where
they're from.

Daniela (Dana) Kappes is coming from Germany for a visit to the US. I'll be
hosting a party in the LA/Orange County area of California for her.

Since she is only going to be in this area during the week, the party will
be on Tuesday, February 27th starting any time after 3pm and going until.

She is bringing the German copies of first season FK with her. Yum! Yum!
Wish I could understand German.

Any who wish to come, contact me. It'll be fun. We'll have pizza, Ribena,
Sock ammo, and lots and lots of FK.

There is a report from someone on the AOL FK Board
that a promo has been seen on USA for FK for this
Friday night.

(Surely Kay wasn't mad enough about the NAPTE
thing to schedule FK opposite X-files!)

Can anyone else confirm this Friday nite rumor?

On the other hand, he wasn't remembering much at that point. By the time he
woke in the morning, he had had the dream about Nat asking to be "taken" and
"brought across" with LaCroix watching them both from the shadows. He had
also had time to digest and half remember some of the things LC had said
about being a killer, special nature etc. He was also having some "thump,

dawn.

:Yes, I know he was shown eating some sort of soup. Ger played that

Having been in that condition in a hospital recently (I react poorly to
anaesthetics and their antiupchuck drugs do very little to change this),
they *know* when someone is throwing up and come running. I was in a private
room with the door closed. Nick was in the ICU or in an open ward at the
very least. I can't imagine that they wouldn't be able to tell if he had
lost it. He also, later on, didn't balk at eating the apple.

I thought when I saw his expression that it was more "Hospital food is
awful" and "why are they making such a big deal out of me eating?"

Just a word to those of you who watch FK on KPDX.

It's moving *again*.

I just spoke with Sherri (the *very* nice programming lady). It had appeared
in the TV host that "Games Vampires Play" was going to be on again. So I
called to find out what was playing. She gave me the run down through the
sweeps (which was all she had) and then proceeded to tell me about the time
change. This week it will be on at 4:30am but starting next week (Feb 8th)
it will be on "late Thursday/early Friday" at 3:30am.

She is also keeping a list (6 people so far) of KPDX FK viewers who are
calling for episode titles and time changes. She plans on calling those on
her list to let them know about any programming changes which would affect
us. (I said she was *nice*. I meant that she was.... oh, my I can't think of
a superlative good enought for her!).

By the way, Games Vampires Play "tonight", Human Factor next week, Avenging
angel on the 15th and Fallen Idol on the 22nd.

Hi all,
I was at the Houston FK Party and it was *alot* of fun! I'm glad I met
everyone and I'm so glad the blood went over so well and I guess now I know how
many people you can fit in a small bedroom. :)
To all waiting to see the quote list: I'm working on it. :) I don't have a
computer at home (I know, poor me) so I have to come up to school and use
theirs *but* I've got to have the list with me to type it up and I don't have
it with me yet. Also, it's sleeting outside for the first time in recent
memory (East Texas gets rain, not sleet) and once I go home, I am *not* coming
back.
To make a long story short, the list will probably be out sometime this
weekend maybe (if the weather clears), if not Monday.
  Sorry. :)

This was forwarded to me today..I have written to Katrin asking for the
journalist name,in the meantime I spoke to Mr Schoenberg. He was very
nice, said that they did in fact receive alot of letters for the boxing and
that it was probably a sports article that put this in (I don't know) He
said that unfortunately FK was not drawing the ratings that they wanted on
Tuesday night. He didn't seem real familiar with the show, didn't seem to
know that it used to be on Mondays and now Thursdays...
I asked him about the overnight ratings system and he said that it was an
"intricate process" and that it was probably an "approximation" (Sounded
like eloquent BS to me)
But he was very pleasant..I did hear a *sigh* though when I said I was
calling about FK
and "Oh,no here it comes kinda sigh)

Subject: My Dream FK Calendar

        Gang:
All right. It's time for the male contingent to weigh in on what
we'd like in a calendar. I've seen lots of women write who have very nice
ideas about Vachon, Nick, et. al, but very little mention of the female
characters. So . . .

JANUARY: Janette on a ski slope at night (full moon, of course)
wearing a trendy (and skin-tight) white skiing outfit. Being vamped-out
is optional in this shot.

FEBRUARY: Janette, Natalie, Urs, all in the Raven. The Raven is
decorated with Valentine's Day decorations. The three women are lounging
about in sexy lingerie (either red or white).

MARCH: Natalie sitting in her apartment, looking casual, playing
with Sydney. Nick is in the background, nursing a cat scratch and looking
irritated.

APRIL: Tracy sitting in front of Vachon's church, leaning against
the steps, wearing a leather jacket with nothing underneath, the jacket
open to the top of the cleavage line. Vachon sits on a motorcycle nearby,
wearing sunglasses despite the approaching twilight.

MAY: Urs is outside, in the early evening, lying in a forest glade.
The only thing covering her is pine needles in the correct places. Screed
looks on with interest.

JUNE: It is early evening, and Janette and Natalie have gotten to-
gether for a swim party. Janette is wearing a sleek black one-piece, and
Nat is in a light green bikini. The pool is lit, revealing Schanke under
water, wearing SCUBA gear and wielding an underwater camera.

JULY: The whole gang is outdoors on the balcony of Nick's loft
(if it doesn't have one, MAKE one), barbecuing. Men are wearing red, white
or blue T-shirts and jeans, the women are wearing cutoff denim shorts, and
a red, white or blue bikini top. The exception is LaCroix, who is wearing
his usual black turtleneck, slacks, and leather trenchcoat.

AUGUST: Nick and Natalie enjoying a twilight picnic in casual dress.
Janette is sneaking up behind them wearing camoflauge and wielding a Super-
Soaker squirt gun.

SEPTEMBER: Nick and Nat begin to preview the winter line in the
morgue; both are wearing work attire and holding up a remarkably well-dres-
sed corpse.

OCTOBER: Nick is getting ready for Halloween at the loft, wearing
a traditional Bela Lugosi vampire costume, and is looking at himself in
the mirror, vamped out. Standing beside him is Natalie, dressed as Glinda
the Good Witch, with the requisite low-cut sequined gown.

NOVEMBER: Since this is my birthday month, I'm reserving the right
to have this month to myself. If anyone really wants to know what this
month would look like, e-mail me privately. This is a family list, after all.

DECEMBER: The whole gang, gathered 'round a fireplace at the Raven.
All are wearing Santa-like outfits, complete with fake beards. LaCroix is
in the back, looking decidedly uncomfortable.

Enjoy. Feminist cries of negation regarding blatant sexism in this
calendar may be sent to my private e-mail. Thanks for putting up with me.

        P.

OK! Called USA back..after 3 calls, finally got through to a PERSON (!) at
marketing, she too was very pleasant ( I think I heard that sigh again
though) and I waited and waited on hold until....she finally came back and
said that as far as she knew it was on Mondays at 10..hmmm..not here in NJ
it isn't and that in March it was being moved to Thursday at 1 AM. (which is
really Friday) Could this be the confusion?
She said to try programming after 2pm and that I might get a REAL person!

Don't know why I didn't think of this before; probably because I only
just heard from my local syndi, after six letters...but their r esponse
was the typical "but tri-star's not offering it" stuff and I had a
brainstorm. Rather than just get depressed, I've written them back
thanking them for responding to my letter, and letting them know that
tri-star is in fact undecided, and if they're happy with FK's performance
(which I happen to know my station IS) that they can just ask for it and
maybe tri-star will produce it after all.

And I enclosed a copy of their letter to me with it.

Subject: Thanks Colorado FKer's!

Had a great time meeting some of the Colorado FK folks - Christina, Courtney,
and Linda. We had a great dinner at Croc's Cafe, downtown Denver, and ate
and talked FK and ate and talked FK, with a little Highlander thrown in... A
cool group, in cool weather -- lovely, cold snow, and after eating we walked
a couple of blocks (in 2 degree weather on crunchy snow) to The Tattered
Cover Bookstore to check out Electronic Media and other stock. The EM issue
had our wonderful FK ad in it, but we couldn't find the article -- was it in
the same issue?

It is so great that FK people seem to generally like the same kind of
literature. Of course I weakened and bought 4 thick paperbacks
(sci-fi/fantasy, natch) -- remember, girls, when I kept saying "I don't know
where I'll put these?" and one of you said "There's always room for books"?
Well, there was, but my suitcase was so bulging with the thick winter
clothes, books, and additional items, it was too heavy to handle. Handle it
I did -- and strained my back getting it into the car Wednesday morning! Had
to fly back that way, and still struggle with the suitcase, laptop, asbestos
sampling kit, purse, and bookbag full of junk that I always carry, so by the
time I got home, I was in agony. Last night and this morning, every little
movement was a gasp of pain! Had to stay home and work some on my report
here (and, ahem, catch up on mail of course, with a pillow propped behind me)
and use a heating pad. Hopefully, I'll be in better condition tomorrow.

Speaking of which, my next trip is Monday morning to the Ft. Lauderdale,
Florida area. What FK people are in *that* neck of the woods? FK times?
Phone numbers? Would any of *you* guys like to get together for dinner? It
is so great meeting fellower FKers around the country -- all exceptionally
vibrant and talented people!

I was so pleased to see LC's message regarding our effect on NATPE, and KK.
Lets hope they keep talking over their coffee mugs! I spread flyers around
the Denver Public Library (an incredible library,at that) but of course, have
no idea how long they lasted before being moved or tossed. It was worth it
if even one person picked one up.

So... the FK cast and crew liked the bubbles, eh? :-) And the squirt guns?
:-) :-) Great! Nice to know we perked the gang up! I sent a "hang in
there" card to JP and a thank you card to Paul DeCruz at EM. Also wrote
to Feltheimer again -- sent him a little card that said "Guess Who?" on
the front. I'm going to send a "thank you" card to Bob Ramsey at KDAF in
Dallas and let him know how pleased we continue to be with his programming.
Didn't get my stuff off to Jeff Jarvis as planned, but will do so tomorrow.
This weekend is HorrorFest in Dallas, and I'll take a stack of flyers along.
Should be some interesting people there. The Mingees are going, and I hope
to run into some other FK people too.

Well, back to work. And thanks again Christina, Courtney, and Linda -- you
guys are great and I hope I get up your way again! Keep in touch!

USA got a 1.3 for FK during November sweeps. This 1.7 is the syndicated
rating, but I have no idea if that's for all of season 3 or just the
sweeps.

My local affiliate seemed to indicate that the overnight ratings were a bit
more important to them.

Greetings all,
First, let me praise the folks who went to LV.
Second, With the start of the third season, Nick's hair was shorter and
more controled--boring. Frankly, leaving it on the longish side and
allowing that natural waviness to express itself turned Nick's physical

crowd--think about this--Nick with longish wavy hair, when the light,
whatever available light there was hit his hair--he appeared to be
