Um... how do you know these cookies are vampires? Do they suck the jam out of
the jelly donuts???? Really, who made them and could they describe what the
cookies looked like? I'd like to try my hand at gingerbread vamps, but am at
a loss as to how to go about it. I suppose just the usual gingerbread-men,
but with teensy frosting fangs? The mind reels.

I have to dash to my barnes and nobles and hope they have a copy in tiny
little Bloomington.

It sounds as if they managed to get some article into the NATPE issue, in
_addition_ to the ad that Laurie (and the rest of us) paid for. Is that
right? I thought they were going to have to wait until the next issue
for that.

It is an incredible breakthrough. Obviously, you guys have gotten the
attention of the entire industry. Perhaps not quite, but the stations at
NATPE will definitely know who the seven are. It's incredible.

> IMPORTANT: I received a call from Columbia/Tri-Star...they said that there

Well, its a shame the number was incorrect, but obviously Tri-Star's
attention has been gotten. Incredible.

BTW - don't forget the PAF charity collection. I think that is still
going on through February 14, and we'll wind up giving more than
Sony/Tri-star. Perhaps Tri-Star could be induced to "match" what we give
to PAF, in addition to the postcard bit that they already gave.

I've got to get my checks in the mail for both Laurie and PAF. They will
arrive, they are just slow.

Hi again.

Here's the rest of the nominees for the Geminis. Catherine Disher is up
for Lead Actress, Nigel Bennett's nominated for Supporting Actor and (as
mentioned in my last post) Geraint Wyn Davies is up for Lead Actor.

FK wasn't nominated for best dramatic series but I guess we can't have
everything!

A Small request to break the monotony of SOSFK posts (not that they aren't

Does anyone have or know where I can get a pic of Urs in Hearts of Darkness

Also, can anyone find pics from A&E's Pride and Prejudice? If you can,

As I continue my sacred task of Distributing the Warm Fuzzies, I find
myself with a dilemma... actually, a couple.

Deborah Duchene, John Kapelos, Natsuko Ohama and Gillian Horvath all
deserve Warm Fuzzies... but where do I send 'em? Can someone provide me
with addresses for these four, from which the fuzzies can be forwarded to
the people in question?

Is it "politically correct" to send Greg Kramer's fuzzies to the set? Or is
there another place I should send them?

James Parriott: Do I send his fuzzies to Toronto? I thought there was a
West Coast address, but I can't find it.

Mostly, Toronto is just getting a big ol' box o'fuzzies, but there are some
people who are getting special Lucky Warm Fuzzies (tm), and I don't want
the fuzzies misdirected.

I don't understand this remark. Most of the people Nick has brought
over have not embraced his attitude that humans are not meant to be
vamp "cattle". Also, LC has had his problems with offspring not
doing as he's wished too (perfect example being Nick ;) ).

>They're either as whiny as Nick (like Serena) or 'uncontrollable'
>...and semi-immediately killed by Papa

I didn't consider Serena whiny, although I think she was uncontrollable
to some extent since she broke with Nick and went off on her own. I
think most "newbie" vampires are more likely to be uncontrollable;
it's in the nature of being brought over to want to kill a human(s)
and sort of let the power go to your head. Despite the fact that
Nat's brother Richard was uncontrollable, at first he *was* trying to
confine his killing to criminals or criminal supporters. The problem,
I think, became that he got high on the power (and the blood) and it
affected his judgment. It's also been shown on the show that when a
vampire cares about a human (as Richard did his wife), there is a
goodly chance of the "bite reflex" being stimulated by the emotional
and sexual desires of the vampire.

I thought Serena was pretty well-adjusted. She, like Nick, didn't
want to be a vampire. She drank bottled blood and worked with mortals
without murdering them. I don't think she'd be as adverse to a
"fresh" meal on occasion though, and probably had human rather than
cow blood in her fridge. She seemed to be doing fine on her own to me.

Actually, I should, because someone (I think Diane E.) told me about
them a week or so ago. But my brain is frazzled, and I can't be sure.
I do think though, that it was either Diane, Dianne T. DeSha, or
someone(s) they knew. There were several people in on it, I remember
that much. Just not who they are. Sorry.

But there's a good chance that the people who DO know are currently

Actually, no. EM puts out a midweek special edition at NATPE, and
that's where the ad appears. (Paul DaCruz of EM called me from Vegas,
for at least the fourth time this week, to let me know that he received
the candies and info our guys sent him -- are we organized, or are we
not! <vbg> -- and to let me know about the article Wayne Walley wrote.

All things considered, it's probably better to have this in the issue
they see at NATPE than next weeks' issue. Though it may have less
circulation??? it's hitting the syndicators at the right moment.

Still can't wait to see it though!

Perhaps use fan club addresses for the first two? Anyone else want to
venture a guess? The fan club addresses can be found somewhere on the
Sony web page heirarchy. I dunno about how to send stuff to Natsuko Ohama
or Gillian Horvath.

> Is it "politically correct" to send Greg Kramer's fuzzies to the set? Or is

(a) Nothing goes directly to the set (but Jamie already knows that). For
anyone FK-related in Toronto, use this address:

  Paragon Entertainment/Forever Knight
  119 Spadina Ave., Suite 900
  Toronto, Ontario M5V 2L1 Canada

I'm sure anything for Greg Kramer sent to this address will be properly
forwarded. Worry not.

According to an address list I got from the GWD Fan Club, Parriott's
address is:

  James Parriott
  Forever Knight Productions
  4063 Redford Ave.
  Studio City, CA 91604 USA

Unless we hear otherwise, we'll presume this is the address to send him
notes, warm fuzzies, or whatever.

I don't think Serena was well-adjusted at all .... for a vampire. IMHO a
well-adjusted vampire is one who wants to be a vampire, who accepts the good
and bad points of being a vampire -- not one who only ambition is to be a
mortal.

IMHO, to say that Serena was well-adjusted is like saying that a human being
who desperately wants to be a pig is well-adjusted.

As for her not murdering, her oft-stated sole ambition in Baby, Baby was to
have sex with a mortal with the right set of chromosomes in the right place
at the right time, knowing full well that this could only result in the
man's death.

soul make a copy of the blooper tape for me? Of course I will pay for

I've been on pins and needles all day waiting to hear about NATPE! It sounds
like its going well. I think our strike force is fantastic!!! Flyers and
bags everywhere, waltzing through a TriStar reception... God, what I'd give
to be there with them!

I agree that having the article actually in the NATPE issue is perfect.
"Undecided" *is* far, far better than plain old "cancelled"! Is this a
wavering in the wall called TriStar? Everybody say your prayers tonight --
TriStar *has* to realize that they've got more than a little Canadian cop
show on their hands!! (I don't remember exactly what D. Letterman's words
were, but I knew there was a reason why I prefer Leno).

Keep us posted with the absolute latest about the Magnificent Seven!

Now, y'see, this is the kinda comment I'll never understand. From where in
the whole wide episode could you draw the conclusion that Serena would
be less averse to a "fresh" meal than Nick? From what part of the
episode doe you get even the faintest indication that the blood in her
fridge was human? I've just gone back and watched it. It ain't in there.

Serena, *UNLIKE NICK* did not know what she was getting into. She
*UNLIKE NICK* never wanted to be a vampire. She was disgusted by the
whole thing from the start. So I would in fact suspect that she is far more
likely than Nick to have avoided killing humans altogether. So I guess
she does have better reason to be whiny and mal-adjusted than Nick.

Now, before we start to play that endless Knightie: "But he didn't want
to be a vampire. He's a good guy. He didn't he didn't he didn't!'
Cousin: "He did too!' game, I will say very explicitly what I'm talking
about.

Nick's Case:
Offered vampirism explicitly. Goes off to Near Death Land. Refuses
billowy white personage in favor of what LaCroix offers. Wakes up on the
(table? altar?) hungry for Janette and verrry happy.

Serena's Case:
Speaks obliquely about immortality, meaning that she wants a baby, never
having any idea that Our Boy has got it all wrong. Wakes up and
immediately panicks, horrified at what Nick has done to her.

Whoah... this has turned into a completely different discussion.

AC Chapin sdragon@g....... http://www.glue.umd.edu/~sdragon
...Actually, I rather liked Serena, probably because she's Nick,
but with a good reason for being so whiny and angst-ridden...

Subject: Here's the poop on HorrorFest

I posted the basic info on HorrorFest, from a flyer I discovered while
placing Save FK flyers at a BookStop near Collin Creek Mall in Plano, Texas.
I talked to Carol Thompson, who is one of the people setting it up.
HorrorFest '96 is a *local* affair, nothing huge but something trying to get
started so it will be bigger next year. This year it will run one day, Feb.
3, from 10:00 a.m. until (?) sometime in the evening. Carol said sandwiches
will be catered in at 7:00 p.m. for people who want to watch the more "adult"
horror "classic films" (circa 1959-72), which will be shown later.

There will be local horror writers on hand, including Pat Elrod who has
written a line of vampire books. And dealers and some panels (which will
begain at 11:00 a.m.) *No*, there will not be any FK cast members there.
This isn't that big, and its not an FK funciton -- its a horrorfest that will
have some vampire items simply because vampires are a horror concept. I'm
going to see what its about and to put out a goodly batch of FK flyers, as
well as to talk to people about FK who might not already know...

I thought it would be fun for FKers from the area to show up, together or
not, and make certain people hear about FK. Also, we would get a chance to
meet and visit, and I think a horrorfest would just be a fun Saturday.

Carol is hoping to have it up to a 2 day run next year. And I'll ask again,
just in case -- she's looking for someone with a background in special
effects who might want to do a panel or demo or something for this event.

So, hope I see some of you local folks there. *If* you want to meet there,
let me know.

Sherri

P.S. Felicia, my name is Sherri, not Susan. But thats OK. I went to a camp
years ago where my name was misspelled on the name tag, and I spent the whole
weekend being called Shessni. Susan is better;-)

Wow.

The SFK home page has been averaging about three hundred hits per day.
Which is impressive.

As far as I can tell, it's had 640 hits in the last 24 hours.

Which is STAGGERING.

What happened yesterday, to more than double the number of hits?!

Wow.

Send mail concerning the series and/or the actors to either of the
following addresses:

  SSA PUBLIC RELATIONS RYSHER TPE
16027 VENTURA BLVD 3400 RIVERSIDE DRIVE

Rysher will send you an InfoPack with lots of nifty information about the
series when you write
them and include a long Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope.
**
Unfortunately, I don't have an address on Panzer-Davis (who actually
makes the series as opposed to Rysher who syndicates it)

I'd go for the Rysher and address it it Gillian, but perhaps another
Highlander fan knows a better address?

It seems to me that keeping an untied front might be the perfect way to
convince our local affiliates that a fourth season of FK would be a good
thing. Or possibly even TriStar. Considering that there was a significant
percentage of the list that was apparently willing to get arrested if it
would keep FK alive, it seems to me that this would actually be a less
extreme alternative.
