You know you have been watching too much forever knight when you are
lecturing on early Old Kingdom (Egyptian) concepts of the afterlife, and
you find yourself talking about the king "bringing across" servants he
wanted with him in the afterlife... It was a very useful phrase to use.

Good luck to the Las Vegas adventurers!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I could momentarily go off-topic... I am running a study-abroad
program to Bulgaria this summer (a museum practicum in Bulgarian
traditional culture). If anyone on this list is a history,
anthropology, archaeology, museum studies, etc., major or otherwise
interested student, I would love to send you information about it.

OMIGOSH!!! I just realized, I never left CERK after War #5. I'm *still

Oh well, could be worse. I loved my office with the Mac, the Braun

Hmm, I guess that means I'm at Nick's loft. <happy sigh>

But of course in that War I just got back from delivering a not-so-subtle
attack on LaCroix and the Cousins (sent them a flaming steak [filet
mignon] with a note saying "You Have Been Steaked" -- sorry for the bad
pun!). Worse, they haven't yet had a chance to retaliate.

Hey, are factions allowed to retaliate in one war for attacks made in a
previous war? If so.... <GULP!>

Does anyone know if the last six episodes are going to be taped and shown? I
called FOX station in INDIANAPOLIS this afternoon and was reassured that they
had no intention of cancelling FOREVER KNIGHT. They did say, however, that it
depends on the syndicater sending the shows to them via satellite. They then
air it on their station.

This isn't really off-topic, I promise. :-)

I've been watching the reruns of "Matrix" on the Sci-Fi Channel, and
am really intrigued by the premise and the character. I've started
writing a Matrix/FK crossover story, but... I missed seeing the
"Matrix" pilot, and am afraid I may have missed some important
details. Is there anyone who saw it and would be willing to send me
a summary? I'm not so much interested in the plot as in the hero's
background, personal life, and details about the City In Between. I
would be very grateful. Email to me please, so as not to clutter the
list.

I printed up 'certificates of achievement' for every single person on that

I finally got a response from BBS, one of the Canadian syndicators of FK...

"Thank-you for your letter in regards to Forever Knight. We appreciate your
comments and are pleased you are enjoying watching Forever Knight on BBS.

We will keep your comments in mind when we are speaking with the distributor.

Regards, (signed) Janice Reith, Program Manager"

Okay, so she's not the person I wrote to (or had flowers delivered to), and the
response is more than a little vauge, but hey, it's *something*.

I know for sure that Beverley Oda, Senior VP, Programming is going to NATPE
representing 14 stations in 10 markets across Canada (as well as the ones BBS
picked up in the Electrohome merger).

I"ve been dropping flyers in Calgary (and a friend who wants me to bring FK home
in Feb. for her SCA friends is doing the same in Saskatoon), all of them with
her name, etc. smack in the middle, so she *should* know what to do in Vegas :)

A few years ago I saw about three episodes of FK and loved it. I
recognized Nigel Bennet from something and still haven't figured out
what. I am new to computer communication and happened to stumble upon the
opportunity to join this list. I recently discovered that FK is being
shown on CTV at 11pm (Atlantic) and this resurged my love for the show. I
haven't been able to see any shows beyond episode 22 though, until I saw
this list I thought the show had been cancelled (I'm so glad I was
wrong). I am confused though about references to cousins, mercs, and War
#5. Could someone please explain these to me briefly? I'm also glad I'm
not the only one who knows about FK, let alone loves it.

Perhaps Ms. Horvath would consider writing an FK novel? Also, I
received, today--23 Jan, my copy of GWD's Hauntings. I have not
listened to it yet--oh the anticipation. Why wait, you all ask? Here
in Alaska one's mail is delivered frozen--have to wait for the tape to
thaw. I am sharing this because there was concern expressed earlier
about Tangled Web. They received my order on 9 Jan and I received the
tape today. Nice photo of GWD on the back--it does not do justice to his
blond hair, but it is compelling.
Tangled Web indicated they were interested in GWD doing another audio
book for them. NB on an audio book would be nice, too. A collection of
the "Nightcrawler's" musings would be nice.

I talked to Carol Thompson who is one of the people setting up the
HorrorFest in Dallas. This is the first time for this con, so she doesn't
anticipate that it will be large, but she is using it as a feeler for a
bigger con in following years. Eventually they want it to run 2 days
and have more events. She's evidently been involved in doing something
similar where there were too many people, not enough control, and things got
out of hand, including damage to the hotel where it was running. Therefore
she's being cautious about size and expanding too quickly. However, I noted
that I got the last flyer for it at the BookStop I went into, therefore a lot
of people picked them up there. She and others have left them all over, so
she may end up with a bigger gathering than she anticipates.

There will be films (classics from 1959-1972 era), a room with panels
(starting at ll:00 a.m.) with discussions and questions and answers, and a
dealers area. Sandwiches will be catered in after 7:00 p.m. for those who
want to watch films in the evening. Pat Elrod, the writer of vampire books,
will be there, and a couple of people who did a fanzine for Twin Peaks, and
some other local horror writers.

Carol wanted to know if *anyone* knows someone involved with special effects
whom she might be able to contact about attending as a speaker?

She gave me Pat Elrod's phone number so I can give her a call and see if she
knows what's going on with FK. Also gave me the number of Theresa Patterson
at Pegasus (both are local). She said we are welcome to bring all the flyers
we want and we can pass them out and talk to people. Cool.

Again, for folks in the D/FW area, let me know if you'd like to gather for
this one. And let other people know about it. The more who attend, the
better it will be and that will encourage an even larger con next year.
Also, the more of us that pass through, the more we can discuss FK!

That's all that they announced. I guess I'll just have to check the

I did it!!! I didn't pass out, I didn't gag, I didn't freak. Yay.

But they didn't have SOS-FK on their charity lists, so does it
count? For some reason Denver didn't have it on there. I've still got the
ticket, I'll send it to Lana tomorrow.

Off to check the mail,

No. We don't want any war right now. At least I don't. I'm still
traumatized from the last one. :)

Mercs, cousins and wars, Oh my! Mercs, Cousins and Wars, Oh my! Someone
who has it convenient will not doubt send you a copy of the factions
list. Wars are just a fan fictional round robin sort of thing.

Actually, War#6 is the SOS-FK plan.

Subject: AOL FK Chat Log

Hi, Listbuddies! (and thanks for the nice words, Allison!!!)

Here's a summary of the "important" part of Monday's AOL FK Chat, before we
took a dive off the deep end:

The Knight Watchers raved, bounced, and generally applauded the latest aired
episode, "Fever" of "Forever Knight" and who better to join us for this than
the writer who made it all possible! Gillian Horvath, who wrote "Fever"
joined us to be bowed-to, lauded, and lavished over for her wonderful script!
She even shared some info with us on scenes that were cut out of the final
edit! We tried to get her to squeal about her next ep, "Francesca" (episode
#321), but she wasn't sharing. We do know... well, read the log and see what
we did squeeze out of her! Gillain Horvath, for those who don't know, also
wrote the episodes "Fate Worse Than Death", "Father's Day", "Queen of Harps",
and "Blackwing".
This log represents the Gillian Horvath part of the chat only. As the
rest of the chat degenerated terribly, causing the remaining 9 Knight
Watchers to slink over to a private room, the *other* log will only be
available from yours truly. E-Mail only to my ScFiMarci@a....... address,
please, as I only check the TVV one once a week.

Actually, in the very late stages in the wee hours of the morning, the chat
resembled an enthusiatic meeting of JADFE listmembers... (we called it a
Knight after about 3 hours and 20 minutes!)

As a currently paying customer of Columbia House Video, I sort of mentioned
this in my letter to TriStar. I should think they *might* take me
seriously, considering I now own the entire Classic Trek, and Way Lots of

Hello, all, Just wanted to present my existance, and say that I have been
watching with great interest the discussions about FK (eg. Cancellation,
etc.) Lately. Also, is there some place someone could tell me where I
could dig up the posting guidelines for FKFIC-L (yes, this IS crossposted -
sorry :-[ I won't do it again.)
Thanks for your time!

PS: Also - A list of definitions of all the terms, etc. I get (I THINK)
Cousins, Nick/NatPackers, but the rest *confuse* me. Thanks again.

Frank N. Furter -- LaCroix
Brad Majors -- Nick
Janet Weiss -- Nat
Magenta -- Janette
Columbia -- Tracy
Riff Raff -- Screed
Eddie -- Vachon

The only problem is, I don't know who'd play Rocky.

Any ideas?

Hey all,
I'm very new to this list and to the crusade (Nick was brought across during
the Crusades, yes?) so forgive me if I do something wrong. But there's no
time to lurk! If anyone has a few spare flyers to send me, please send some
to me. I'd like to send them on to the local college station. EMail me for

P.S. I am in agreement with the others -- "Fever" was a FANTASTIC episode!

Oh Saaandraaaa,

You know how we love to play LONG before a War actually breaks loose
among us. You wouldn't wanna miss out on the sabre rattling, would you?

First, and this is for newbies on the list or the careless, Please, PLEASE do
not quote whole posts when making comments/replies. One of two lines will
suffice. Some people have to pay for each line of mail so it is spendy and
frustrating to slog through them. Keep your signatures to a mimium for the
same reason.
Onward- In an upcoming ep of FK ( no spoiler, I hope) Nick encounters yet
another botched job of his bringing someone across and they are unhappy. This
has been DONE too many times folks. It would be great to see an episode where
he encountered a vampire he made who was more like LaCroix ie, thrilled at
being a blood drinking maniac. That's a scary idea!
