Hi Wendy,

  I'm Cousin Cherri.

A cousin is a follower of LaCroix. The story goes:

I think it was Sharon Scott???? (I don't remember who) from Houston Texas
who was afraid of frogs.
Two people...one from the east coast.... and another from the west coast
decided independently that it would be great to send Scotty a nice box of
chocolate frogs for her birthday. Previously, those who followed LaCroix
were called LaCroisianes. But once Scotty received her box of chocolate
frogs from the two followers of LaCroix, she exclaimed that the two were so
mean that they must be cousins of LaCroix. One thing lead to another and
suddenly someone (who I can't remember) said that if they were cousins to
LaCroix, that would make LaCroix their Uncle. And so ends the story.

Followers of LaCroix: Cousins
LaCroix: Uncle

This is essentially the story line if you want to read the actual account
then you have visit Jasmine's Forever Knight homepage where a megaton of FK
goodies are stored on the net.

Subject: NATPE Questions

Hello all-- This is a different kind of challenge--

The NATPE Strike Force has been making up a list of possible Questions &
Answers to be ready to talk to those syndicated station folks in Las Vegas.
We've got a long list, but could always use more ideas. (Feel free to email
them to me not the list). We have a couple of questions left that need good
succinct, no-whining answers and I want to solicit your help. There are a
lot of great creative people on the list who know even more about FK than I
do so give it you best shot. Remember the intended audience is a Television
station executive who has little time, likely doesn't know much about the
show and who is mainly concerned with a)ratings, b) advertisers' desire to
advertise on the program. No cutting down USA or verbosity allowed.
.
Prize for the best answers -- we'll steal your lines!!!!!
Funniest answer we can't use -- I'll send you a poker chip from Vegas (and
you can post it)!

1. Why did USA drop Forever Knight?
Anyone want to try to write a tactful, but informative answer to
that one?

2. If the show is doing so well, why isn't it on in better slots?
(Wouldn't we *all* like to know the answer to this one...)

3. What about negative advertiser / viewer reaction to the vampire concept?

4. I have a lot of fundamentalists / christians / mormons / (substitute term
of choice when stereotyping people's beliefs) in my market I don't want to
be boycotted or have my advertisers upset.

5. What's this all about? I got some stuff at my station & we've been
getting calls like crazy, is this some sort of fan thing?

6. Who *are* you people anyway?

7. Tell me why I should care about this show...(tapping foot impatiently)

Send them to me or Diane E. (our fearless leader) at <gryphon@e.......>

Second item:
I'm not a gambler. Or I should say, I'm not a gambler at casino games <g>.
However as someone pointed out we are going to Las Vegas, this is a
one-in-a-million shot and I'm feeling lucky. I want to take some money
specifically for FK and bet it on something. What do you suggest? Slots,
Roulette, sports bet, blackjack, horses? Anybody got a good idea? I'm not
looking for odds advice here, no I want that vision, that one-in-a-million
sense that this is the thing! If we make any money I promise we will use it
for SOS-FK. (e-mail me -- tch@w.......). Yep, I'm losing it, but it
couldn't be for a better reason!

We leave Tuesday, Wish us luck!

Sorry, Ashley, but James Parriott beat you to it! <g> We saw Nick munch on his
first victim (a pretty young noblewoman, judging by the jewellery) in Dark
Knight, the first season premiere!

And he seemed-- um--- enthusiastic but confused, I would say.

That doesn't seem fair though. Is there a date on the card? I think if you
donate blood in the name of FK then you should get a card.

Anyone in the NYC area who missed yesterday's blood drive but still wants
to give...

You can give blood ANY TIME at that blood center, over the next couple
weeks, and it WILL be counted as part of the FK effort... as long as you
give them the proper group number.

The group number is... 1228.

It was apparently assigned randomly.

A good sign.

The NYC blood place is on E. 67th Street, between First and Second Avenues.
I'm certain that someone who isn't half-asleep and in the middle of dying
their hair will be posting further details.

Since people on the list have becoming tired lately, and thinking about
giving up on our efforts to save FK, I thought I would post this little
"poem" to give those who need it, renewed hope.

Changes can come from the power of many,
But only when the power of many,
Come together to form that which is invincible
        .... THE POWER OF ONE.

We have to stick together on this guys, everything rests on our
shoulders, and despite the weight, we must fight on.

I hadn't caught the fact that the dying soldier appeared to be wearing
a French uniform, although he was speaking Russian. However, if the
battle were part of the Crimean war in the 1850's, when the French and
the Russian were allied, it makes a little more sense. It might also
make more sense of Nick's costume.

Besides, although I realize that at times they appear to be continuity
challenged (ok, so I just got back from church and I'm still trying to
be nice <g>), LaCroix did have a line in the first season that implied
that he and Nick had been in the Crimean War.

Interesting! There was a SYoung7819 who showed up at my OMNI SF/Fantasy Chat
on Friday night asking what we thought of the cancellation of FK! *AND* this
person, in a private instant message to me, said they were writing an article
for the Oakland Tribune! One and the same person?? I think so! Anyway, we
were eager to tell him/her of what we thought! Judith Freudenthal was in the
room, too, and we made sure this person knew of the Save FK web page, etc.!
Susan Young, presuming that's who this was, said that she and the movie
critic of the newspaper were big FK fans!

Less than 10 minutes ago I got off the phone from speaking with
Marion Meginnis, program director. I told her I like the show, and I
thanked her for showing it and for showing the new episode last
weekend. I also expressed hope that she would ask for a 4th season
at NATPE next week.
She was really nice, and she's a fan, too! She said they've
received a lot of fan letters for FK, and WBBM HAS ASKED for a 4th
season. The show isn't doing gangbusters for Channel 2, but it is
doing good. She also said they definitely have the show through
August.<<

This is good to hear! I've written Ms. Meginnis at WBBM-TV twice and only
gotten a postcard back. Good to hear that they've been getting a lot of
letters!

Could some listmember who has successfully gotten stuff from my FTP site
(*not* through AOL) please e-mail me and tell me so? I've heard only that no
one has been able to get anything and I'm baffled as to why.

I need to get this site working so that I can make the chat logs for the
Monday chats available to non-AOL people, especially as we've had special
guests there. (Gillian may drop in this Monday to hear how we liked
"Fever"!)

And those who have an AOL FTP site, please e-mail me with exactly what you
did - I must have done something wrong somewhere. (Felcia, Jamie, this means
you!)

Thanks! In the site I now have four stories, the Fred Mollin chat log and
last Monday's log when Nicholas Gray and Gillian Horvath were there.
