GOODIES Report #1
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Send e-mail to percy91@w....... with GOODIES in the subject line
if:
  (a) you have sent something you'd like to report,
  (b) you'd like a list of cast & crew so you can send
something to someone in particular, or
  (c) have any questions.

Remember, don't forget the little people!!

Send goodies, thank you notes, cards, etc. to:

  Paragon Entertainment/Forever Knight
  119 Spadina Ave., Suite 900
  Toronto, Ontario M5V 2L1
  CANADA

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, so far no one has reported sending a goody to someone in
particular. Big boxes of stuff for everyone seem to be popular. :)
I can just imagine the silliness that will ensue when some of *these*
boxes arrive!

GOODIES SENT TO EVERYONE ON THE CAST & CREW:

Balloons (Diane Echelbarger <gryphon@e.......> & Lillian Feden
<feden@m.......>)

Hot cocoa mix (Lynn McAlpine <Chatelyne@a.......>)

Individual notes for everyone in the credits with cute star and moon
confetti on them. (Wendy Marie <wendy@i.......>)

Kids' party favors: kazoos and harmonicas, little get-the-ball-in-the-hole
games, police whistles, tops that flip out when you spin them, a plastic
bowling set, a gun that shoots wheelie flying things into the air, catch
the ball in the cup games, put the ball through the paddle games, and
rings that squirt water. (Susan Garrett <susang@v.......>)

Individual little thank you cards and one big thank you card for everyone,
Two bags of candy (miniature Snickers and M&Ms), and a book box of Life
Savers. One package of Tums (labeled "don't let the pressure upset you").
One package of lemon-flavored cough drops (labeled "for filming on cold
nights"). One package of Tic-Tacs (labeled "Pre-bite mints"). Bubblicious
bubble gum package (labeled "do not chew with fangs in"). A package of
party-favor sized "squirt guns" labeled "let those aggressions out!". And
liquid bubble with little blowers labeled "for the less aggressive".
(Sherri Lynn Godsey <us011164@p.......>)

Still in the works: awards for Silliest Gift and Most Appropriate Gift!
Send in your nominations, and see what you can come up with to send!

Also, Bea Q. has suggested that people can send something appropriate
for their home town or region -- big Hershey's chocolates from
Pennsylvania, pecans logs and pralines from the South, barbeque sauce
from Texas, jars of salsa from New Mexico, etc. Maybe that listmember
up in Manitoba can send some icicles!

If you're only sending a few things, try to pick out one of the "little
people" from the credits list I posted earlier. And *no*, I don't mean
pick the shorter individuals!! :)

Subject: NB laserdisc

Just visited my local Ken Crane's (small So. CA retail chain for audio and
video equipment with only one store that i know of devoted entirely to
laserdiscs) and picked up one of many "Hitler's Daughter" discs for $6.98.
Other distributors may have similar deals now, if they're cleaning out some
of their inventory.

Now, in keeping with tradition, i'll rattle off all the FK actors and crew i
spotted :)

NB, the actor who played Richard Lambert, another actor who i want to say
was Aristotle but i haven't seen Aris' ep in a long time and don't remember
what he looks like but this actor was definitely *someone* from an FK ep,
Nicholas J. Gray was the associate producer and the production manager, and
Rick Forsayeth was stunt coordinator.

This almost became a "just rent it or something for Nig's beautifully wicked
entrance" but, thankfully, he does have more than 4 words, much more, in
fact - one really meaty scene (as meaty as a tepid TV movie can get).

This NB credit collecting is turning into a game of "see how many times Nig
has said 'Kill her' in his career". i don't care, though. He says it so well :)

I did a very brave thing today. I finally got up the courage to
call WBBM Channel 2 in Chicago and make my voice heard.
Less than 10 minutes ago I got off the phone from speaking with
Marion Meginnis, program director. I told her I like the show, and I
thanked her for showing it and for showing the new episode last
weekend. I also expressed hope that she would ask for a 4th season
at NATPE next week.
She was really nice, and she's a fan, too! She said they've
received a lot of fan letters for FK, and WBBM HAS ASKED for a 4th
season. The show isn't doing gangbusters for Channel 2, but it is
doing good. She also said they definitely have the show through
August.
If anyone else wants to call her the number is 000-000-0000,
and you have to tell the person who answers the phone you're
interested in the television part of CBS, so your call will be
directed to the right place.

Also, for anyone interested in the FK article in the Chicago
Tribune, it was in the October 31 issue, section 5, page 3, column 2,
I believe.

As we come to the end of a busy FK Appreciation Week, having dropped my movie
stubs and rental receipts in the mail in honor of Tri-Star appreciation day,
it occurs to me . . .

It's time Tri-Star declared a FAN-APPRECIATION DAY. Because even if we don't
get what we want (4th season, natch) Tri-Star gets the benefit of lots of
effort, money and publicity that's gonna help them sell a show that THEY
don't want to spend any more money on. Oh, the injustice of it all. (None the
less, NAPTA team, we're behind you. Keep up the excellent work. Your lobbying
for all of us now.)

Actually, I'd volunteer to write Jon about it, but having already received a
few notes from me, he'd probably recognize the stationary and toss it in the
round file. (Hey, Jon, get any winners in those lotto tickets?)

Subject: 'Parsec' magazine: cover FK article

While browsing through a book store I found a magazine called Parsec
"Canada's Sci-Fi Source" . It has a very nice colour cover picture of
Nick, partially vamped out (eyes, no fangs). Inside was a three-page
'exclusive interview' with GWD including 2 B/W pics of him as Nick.
Also there is a (very easy) FK quiz on the back page.

Not a bad article, except that the interviewer kept on referring to
this season as the 'fourth' season

The issue is December/January, Volume 1, #3. Cost Cdn$4.25. Parsec's e-
mail address is: parsec@vianet.on.ca. Presumably you can order copies
from them.

For those in Toronto, I bought it at The Book Cellar, Yonge & St Clair.
There were 1-2 mags left as of this (Fri) aft.

Ger refers to the ep that was shooting at the time as the 8th ep (TG?)
in which the flashback is set in 1448. Just in case anyone is still
keeping track of the flashbacks.

Subject: Vows, Blood and Attitude

Hi everyone --- more updates here!

Okay, I'm writing this to make sure I DO it. You know how it is. Make a
promise in public and you'll hold yourself to it out of sheer pride.

I will donate blood tomorrow. Despite the fact that the last two times I
did this the nurses were poking me in perplexity, saying, "Where are your
veins? I can't find a vein on this girl. Give me your other arm. How am I
supposed to get blood out of her?" (My veins are really small, and the
suckers MOVE. They're not well anchored) Despite having gotten bruises from
the *@#$! needles every single time. I have too many relatives who were
grateful for blood transfusions after life-threatening accidents not to do
this.... and it IS for a good cause. So I'll do it. Now, how do I report
this, and to whom?

And I made a followup call to my station, after a really vague one last
week. The Denver affiliate has no excuse for not asking for FK at NATPE!
Actually, the nice man at the station sounded encouraging, and he said they
forwarded the letters to Tri-Star. Whoever sees this guy at Vegas, give him
a virtual Brick for being a brick.

Oh, and today is Day 14 of the Great Chocolate Fast. If we get the fourth
season I'll probably end up allergic to chocolate by the time I'm allowed
to have it again. (Unfortunately, the snow has prevented keeping the
rollerblading part of my promise :( )

As for the quit/don't quit argument (insert shameless fanfic plug here) go
read AND IN ANOTHER UNIVERSE ENTIRELY, which I just posted yesterday. Think
of it as an aid to positive imagery...

Gimme a call when you guys get to Vegas---AT&T is the next best thing to
being there!

Subject: Burning Bridges, er trashing sets (was Re: FK update

At 5:20 PM 1/18/96, Sandra Gray wrote:

I tried to quote, but I was keeping too many lines. Sandra asked about
saving or trashing sets, and whether its expensive, and what about making a
movie?

I was just talking to a friend of mine the other day about this subject.
He introduced me to Forever Knight, and is somewhat knowledgeable about TV
type stuff...

What got us onto the subject was my saying (partially in jest) that if
Tri-Star burned the sets, then given the fan following for the show, this
should just about guarantee us 7 FK movies within the next 25 to 30
years... (Although I imagine they'd have to change to a new generation
sooner than trek did...)

He told me that syndicated series often have to rebuild sets each season,
since they don't film continuously, and don't have studio space during
hiatus to keep the sets in. He said that JMS rented out space to store the
B5 sets in, but that this is unusual, and the set construction is a typical
part of the cost of a syndicated series. I don't know how accurate this
is.

Another point about the TV vs Movies though. If FK movies were to be made,
they might build different sets anyway. According to various articles I
read about the Generations movie, a lot of stuff had to be redesigned "for
the big screen." I think it has to do with the greater resolution of film
used, etc. And that some stuff that looks great on the TV just doesn't
look cool when reproduced at theatre sizes...

 Hi guys!

For all those who were wondering what's been keeping me from posting more
than a handful of times since the War, ( and I just know that was the
*single* most important thing on your minds! ;-) the reason can now be
found on the Internet at <http://www.Disney.com>.

Actually, once you get there, you'll want to click on the little bar that says
"The Disney Channel" and *then* you'll see what I'm refering to. It's the
Disney Channel Website and *I* designed and illustrated it! I also designed
and illo'd the Disney TV Plex Website ( aka; Belle's Bookstore ), which will
be up and running in February sometime, and I illo'd The Disney Store
Website which will be up...um, *sometime*.

If you have full-color graphics capability, I *highly* encourage clicking
on the little tab above the image to bring up the color version. If you have
AOL this should not be a problem, but I've noticed other access servers (
like Netcom ) may give you only an error message when you go for the color.
If this happens, just type in the full address,
<http://www.Disney.com/DisneyChannel/index.html?GL=H> and the color version
should download just fine.

Each room can be entered by clicking on it. If you haven't actually hit the
delete key by now and you need the individual URLs for the color version of
each room, just post me privately and I'll be happy to send them to you.

Of course, if you haven't got any graphics capabilities at all, you can
ignore everything I've written *entirely*.

Eventually, there will be animation and sound effects added to the page, as
well as a night-time version. If you do visit, please write me to tell me
what you think...not that I have any authority to alter anything at this
point, mind you, I just happen to be a feedback fiend.;-D

Okay, I realise this has been so far off-topic as to have been posted from
Outer Andromeda, so...

one "tumble bug" (throw it at a wall and it slithers down)
one little box of rice candy ("with free kid sticker inside!")
one "wood magic tumbler" (you know, those things with six or eight
slats of wood held together by ribbons that flip different ways)
   one little swinging ball toy
one bag "Chili Chews" (think gummi chilis! :-)
one little string bag, like for keeping marbles or something
(hummm... make that "a marble" :-)
one of those three-piece animal things (turn it so they all have

one box of little wooden dominoes (with instructions in German <wg>)
   one origami paper-hat folding kit
   one bag of marbles
one little bag of California herb-roasted almonds

   one little Koosh-ball rip-off <g>
*and*
   one little wind-up plastic bug

(the only problem is that I kept *playing* with them all! :-)

So, what do you all think?

wigging out all night and I haven't seen this come up on the list, yet.
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

 My personal review of "Strings"...

 Zzzzzz...

 Thank you.

Subject: Sets

Regarding the sets. It would be safe to guess that new sets were
made and some old ones were found. Since The Raven was an actual
club and then later copied on a sound stage that answers that question.
Nick's loft would not be too hard to duplicate. Would anyone want to
compare 1st and 2nd season tapes. I would but I don't have the first
season on tape. Mmmm, perhaps I should find a way to get them. Does
anyone have dups of the canadian versions for sale?

Subject: Cast/crew appreciation week

I was talking to Laurie Salopek tonight, and she told me about the
cast/crew appreciation week coming up (sorry, I'm a few days behind in
my list reading, that server was down for three days so I hadn't read
about it yet). She said the address for Paragon was given, as to
where to send any letters, etc. However, if you trust me enough, and
anyone wants to send their stuff to me, I'll guarantee to take it up
to the studio itself and hand it over directly. And I promise not to
open anything myself first <g>.

If anyone wants to send their letters, etc. to me to pass on, my
address is:

               00 Xxx Xxxxxxxxx, Xxx. 000
               Xxxxxxx, Xxx. Xxxxxx
               XXX XXX

Just trying to do my bit to make sure the cast, crew and production
people are aware of the way we all feel. I talked to some of the crew
recently and they said they'd gotten a few things from fans (which
really cheered them up), but they were totally unaware of our
campaign, and how much we'd accomplished in honour of them. So I
think the idea of an Appreciation Week for them is a wonderful idea.
The atmosphere on the set is pretty glum these days, but the people I
talked to cheered up visibly when I told them details about the campaign.

BTW, they also said they really appreciate everything the fans are
doing to get the show renewed. Even though, right now, they aren't
responding very much, they did want people to know they were glad we
cared, and that they're awed by all the efforts the fans have made.
But everyone is just very, very tired, it's getting near the end of
the season and they've been working very hard. Especially for these
last episodes, because the only way they can have the quality they
want for them is to work harder in the shorter time they're allotted.
Basically they're working twice as hard as they did before...and their
earlier pace was grueling enough! I think they just have no energy
left to let people know they're glad we care, and are doing something
about it. But they really, really appreciate everything the fans are
doing, they said.

BTW, this offer (of hand delivery) is for the list only. I don't want
my address posted to any newsgroups or whatever, they can use the
Paragon address.

Hey! I said ignore msg!!! Why are you reading this?

I haven't received any mail for almost a complete day, so I wondered if
there was something wrong... I can't send anything either, so this is the
purpose of the test.

I'm *terribly* sorry to bother you with this. Please forgive me! :)

Many thanks to the person who posted the list of crew names. However,
there are also a lot more crew people who never even get their names in

list of crew and production people, next week, and post it to the list.

Subject: vampires and snow

I wrote:

<trapped in home...30 inches snow...wondering what vampires would do>

I underestimated. 37 inches, not including what fell during the day
yesterday. Yes, I should be writing fiction, but that pesky master's
thesis seems to be getting in the way. :-)

Cousin Don suggested that vampires play transligual Scrabble to pass the
time during a big blizzard. I *like* it. But then the big question
becomes, which dictionary do they agree to use? Certainly not the OED. Can
you imagine the arguments they would go through? Nick arguing about some
Chinese dialect, Uncle arguing about some obscure old Latin word, and
Janette declaring them both eternal boys because the obvious language to
be playing in would be French, of course.

ToniM (our Wombat) wondered what the Gleesome Threesome would do trapped
*outside* during a storm. Good question. I would guess that Nick's
military trainig and Lacroix's as well would have them digging holes in
the snow to bury themselves away from the sun. That is assuming, of
course, that the three couldn't just fly out.

But I'm still stumped about the question of food. I have no ida how long
they can go without it. I'd guess a pretty long time, but at the risk of
rampaging when it was possible to get food. They could always fee on each
other for a while, but after the blood was passed back and forth for a
while it would be sure to, uhm, go stale? Lose it's nutrients?

Just a few thoughts before I go to find my car. I think it's the shorter
white blob. The taller white blob is the apple orchard.

PS> News about the FK Home Page (unofficial, not Sony). So much traffic
from this list and elsewhere has prompted my department to apply for a
grant to buy a new server on which all the local home pages can reside.
Our current server gets better than 8000 hits a month from the FK page
alone and has to function as a lab server at the same time. Thanks for
making this so popular, folks! And the SOS campaign has increased the
number of hits about 9000, if I'm not mistaken. Congrats!

FOREVER KNIGHT APPRECIATION WEEK BLOOD DRIVE

Okay, you've written the letters, sent the faxes, and made the phone calls....

Now it's time to do something REALLY personal for Forever Knight

Give some blood.

January 20th is the *official* blood donation day for the Forever Knight
Appreciation Week, but for those of you whose Red Cross Centers aren't open
on Saturday, donating during the week is just fine.

Call 1-800-GIVE-BLOOD to find the location of a Red Cross center near you,
or let your fingers do the walking through the Yellow Pages.

Get a group of friends together and then call the Red Cross Center for an
appointment. Go and donate in the honor of Forever Knight.

The Red Cross also gives away a neat little freebie when you donate-- It's
a stick-pin with a little red teardrop on it (with the Red Cross symbol on
top). So don't forget to pick up your free Vampire Tear!

After you've donated, send your name (first and last) and geographic location,
along with that of your friends to Bea Quindlen at OCaoin@a......., saying
that you and XX of your friends have donated blood for Forever Knight.

Then make a copy of your donor slip and send it and a SASE to :
SOS-FK
P.O. Box 00000
Xxxxxxxxxx, XX 00000-0000

What you'll get back is a laminated badge that says "I gave my blood for
Forever Knight" with a picture of a Forever Knight character. (You'll get back
the copy of your donor slip, also.)

State your faction or favorite character (Nick, LC, Natalie, Vachon,
Janette), otherwise you'll get a Nick badge.

So roll up your sleeve and let 'em draw a pint or two. :-)=

and don't have a disc, you can FTP to members.aol.com and download the
