OK-some more reasons to continue full force with our campaign--

If the Star Trek people had given up the fight after 3rd season of that
show was canceled, there'd be no Star Trek empire today, with its various
shows, novels, etc. I wonder if UPN would even exist...

Do we want FK to continue beyond 3rd season? If so, we've got to continue,
even if our first attempt fails. I believe our NATPE presence will be
beneficial regardless of the outcome (regarding a 4th season) because it
WILL get us noticed, and at the very least, syndicators who wouldn't have
otherwise done so will pick up FK reruns. That will draw in new audiences.
Until 3rd season, FK was basically a well-kept secret (alas), and much of
its potential audience still doesn't know it exists. So, if the audience
increases due to reruns (much like Star Trek's audience), there will be
that many more people to write letters, make phone calls, ask for
merchandise, buy novels (or encourage publishers to make novels
available) etc. All of this increases the chances that we'll get our
show back in some form, if not as a weekly series, then perhaps as a
series of made-for-tv movies. A theatrical movie would be nice, too. :-)

I doubt the cast and crew truly oppose our efforts -- after all, it's
their JOBS we're fighting for! If they're depressed or feeling discouraged,
then it's up to us to keep going. And remember, without our efforts,
FK would have ended after first season.

We're doing an incredible job, everyone!!!

p.s. I have a resolution to make: If we get ANY FK beyond 3rd season,
either as a 4th season or as ongoing made-for-tv movies, I, the eternal
pessimist, will join the Optimists Club!!!

Subject: Call to arms for the cast and crew!

Okay, our Assistant Lisowner has spoken. We've got sopme people to cheer up!

First, who's got a VCR? You, with the hand up. Sit down, pop in your copy
of Strings and take down the names of everyone involved in a continuing
series job (no guest stars, please). SPELLING COUNTS! Then PULEEEEZE post
the list to this list.

Second, they film from Sunday through Thursday. If we get our cards and
letters in the mail now, they'll arrive next week! Candygrams, flowers,
balloons, etc. should be sent so that they arrive on ASAP. Paragon will
forward all the stuff we send, so we'll trust them to do so and promptly
(hell it's down the street and somebody's gotta have a BIG car!).

Let's tell the cast and crew that we appreciate their work and we're working
for a fourth season and that we're out here!

Also, PULEEZE send e-mail about your positive encounters in this cause--like
getting other people to contribute to charity, the weird places you've found
fans, the reaction to sponsors. Laurie's going to collect them and fax them
up to the production office. Keep them short and you can leave your name
off it if you're shy or you're in a position where them knowing who you are
is NOT A GOOD THING! Send that stuff to LMS5@p....... and mark them
'Cheer ups'. That way she can distinguish them from her other mail (okay
Laurie!).

Don't JUST write to the cast. Once the names are posted, write to the crew
and the staff. Tell the grips they're work is appreciated. Tell the
costume people they're okay! Tell the stunt people thanks for saving Ger's
ass! Whatever! Most of these people have never gotten ANY credit for
anything they've done and without them we don't have a show!

Also suggested--little gifts. We know they're fond of squirt guns. Why
doesn't someone raid their local 'We Be Toys N Shit' and send up a box of
$1.00 squirt guns? Drop stickers in envelopes. DECORATE!

THIS IS FUN STUFF!!!!

BUTTTTTT!

You're not allowed to send anything, unless you've called at least one local
syndicated station or written them a letter (preferably, one THIS
week, thanking them for airing STRINGS). We have to put pressure on NATPE
and cheer up our friends in Toronto.

I went to bed at four and was awakened by Jehovah's Witnesses at 9:00, so if
I'm a little manic, just deal with me. It's the toner fumes, I swear. And
the NATPE flyer is gorgeous! Not to mention the ratings! Kudos to Dianne
E. and Toni (win an i) who have done such a spectacular job (as well as
everyone else who has put in time on the flyer and all the other efforts).

Regards
When we get a fourth season, the hair GOES.

Please forgive this, but

Anyone from the NYC area who has contacted me about the chocolate boxes for
the affiliates here in NYC, I will get back to you as soon as I can.

I'm down at Susan Garrett's and we're copying and folding flyers for the
NATPE people, but I will let people know amounts and info by the end of the
week.

And thanks to everyone who's offered to chip in!

Have you written to your local affiliate to thank themf or airings "Stings"
yet?

Hiya!

Just made my call to my local syndicated station. The programming manager
is *gone*. However, I went ahead and left a nice message with my name and
number & hopefully he will check his messages while he's gone. If not, I
have to wait *2* weeks. Thanks so much for reposting the guidelines. Let

What a fabulous idea Laurie and Valerie came up with! I called the post
office and a *regular size letter* mailed from the U.S. to Toronto should
have 52 cents postage on it. Of course that won't cover boxes of squirt guns,
so you may have to run your gift up to the post office, but, hey they're
worth it.

Of COURSE they could use cheering up. Everything else aside, do you realize
how COLD it is in Toronto this time of year? Maybe I'll send them a carton of
hot chocolate.

Subject: It Ain't Over...

I was a little worried when I saw the first message implying that poeple
might be giving up. But seeing everyone rally to keep the momentum on our
crusade going has made me one happy Knightie!

I am incredibly impressed with the amount of energy, nagging and sheer
'Damned if I'm going to quit' persistance I've seen everyone showing
lately. It sort of confirms to me that this is a special show -- it
must, be to have fans like y'all. As I was telling an extremely impressed
freind yesterday, iI've never seen 300 people working so hard towards one
goal -- Tri-Star oughta give us our show just 'cause we've earned it --
and keep earning it! The amount of money we raised for PAF alone makes
this campaign worth it.

I spent last weekend spreading flyers and kept winding up in
conversations with people I've known casually for months at various comic
and book stores -- the usual conversation ran something like, "Cancelling
Forever Knight? They can't do that, it's a great show!" Lemmee see hands,
how many people have had this conversationin the last few weeks? ooo.
that many?

So we've got a *very* worthy aim here -- let's keep calling and writing
and nagging and showing Tri-Star, the cast, the crew and anyone who'll
listen how much this means to us!

He sleeps in the bed in his loft. Or on the couch.
No coffins at his place, if that's what you were curious about. :)

And if he gets caught away from home, he'll crawl into the

Has anyone come up with the list, yet, of staff and crew? Please post if
you're doing it, so we don't duplicate efforts.

The address to send things to is:

Paragon Entertainment
119 Spadina Ave, Suite 900
Toronto, Ontario M5V 2L1 CANADA

They will forward all items to the cast, crew and staff on set.

If you are sending more than ten envelopes, I suggest you combine them and
send them in one large envelope -- the postage will be cheaper, and Paragon
will distribute individual cards and letters to the addresses on the
smaller envelopes.

And I love the hot chocolate idea! It IS cold up in Toronto this time of
year. How about those little packets you stick in gloves to keep your
hands warm? Probably kind of expensive, but maybe if you buy in bulk...

Yes, I'm still here, I've just been no-mail since Christmas Eve. And the
really pitiful part is that I still haven't read all the posts prior to that!
Could some kind soul send me an update by private email as to the status of
the show? My local tv listings no longer have it listed on the local
affiliate.

Now, as I said, I've been no-mail so I don't know if this has come up, but
being a Vaquera I must defend JV and his rather scraggly haircut and facial
growth. Obviously he has some sort of strange vampiric hair-growth hormone
(which we hadn't seen on FK before, but witness Claudia in IWTV, the movie).
If you look at the end of BB1 when he rescues Tracy from the Inca, he is his
usual unshaven self. Then they show him on top of the church (I assume)
holding her and he is clean shaven. Then, in BB2, on what is the same night,
they show him in the sewers and boom! Three days worth of facial hair. Did
I imagine this? I'm pretty sure that's what I saw.

BTW, if anyone's wondering why I'm so far behind in my mail, I found out I'm
pregnant (yes!) and so basically all my body wants to do at this point is eat
and sleep. Today I am home from work, the only free time I've had in ages,
so here I am. I miss you guys! If anyone does mail me privately, as
requested above, don't be surprised if it take me a month to write back!
