<Sob> We'd all like there to be such a catalog. We'd all like to see
some merchandise. <whine>

In the meantime, you can check out some stuff at:

http://www.eden.com/~gebbie/merch.html

Also, try joining your favorite FK actor's fan club. The GWD fan club
produces calendars and buttons, and also has some nice photos of Ger.
<insert obligatory Knightie sigh of adoration here>

For addresses of fan clubs, look at:

http://www.hu.mtu.edu/~gjwalli/FK/Fan_Stuff/fanclubs.html

As a new member, I must say the GWD fan club is a great deal. You get a
lot for your US$16 membership fee! (Note: I think the fee is incorrectly
listed as $15 on the web page above.)

Meanwhile, be sure to ask for merchandise when writing letters to TriStar
or Paragon Entertainment.... (or whoever makes these decisions)

Subject: mention ST and X-Files

Maybe you guys have already thought of this or it's been mentioned on-list
already, what with our collective brain power :) and all, but it just dawned
on me now to mention in all my letters/faxes/etc., that I am also a ST and
X-Files fan.

The idea: compare yourself to a "hot" group, to a group with money to burn,
with huge numbers, with big, long-lasting interest in cult shows. Show TPTB
that many of these folks are also watching FK! Make 'em wonder if maybe ALL
those Trekkers and X-Philes aren't FK fans, too. Show them how much money
you spend on those shows and their merchandise, then tell 'em that your money
is burning a hole in your pocket to spend it on FK, too. :)

Tell them (politely) that they are throwing all of these people away, in a
sense, by canceling FK. That these are the people they need to kiss up to
and make new episodes for, so that these people can in return bless them with
great financial success.

It can't hurt, anyway!

i'm never going to get that episode. Did someone post a notice and i

Anyway, for anyone who doesn't have it yet, Nigel's episode, "Lapses in
Memory" will be shown on the SciFi channel on Monday the 22nd, um, i
think noon on the East coast and definitely 9 a.m. on the West coast.

Hello everyone!

I'm a new subscriber to this list, and boy is it traffic intensive!
But that's a good thing, it just proves how much people love FK!

I just want to thank everyone out there who wrote and talked to so
many people to keep the show alive. We (the fans) are definitely
having an impact on the show buyers and I think we have good chances
of seeing a fourth season! The next thing I'll do tomorrow is e-mail
CJOH-TV, my local Forever Knight provider, as well as TV Hebdo, the
french equivalent of TV Guide here in Quebec. I think there is not
enough people up here north doing much about FK, so I will also try
to print flyers and distribute them. I might also try to call CKOI,
one of the most listened radio station in Canada! (Problem is, they
are extremely hard to reach).

Have hope, our work will be rewarded, I'm sure.

Phoning--

If you haven't phoned your syndicated station, DO IT!

There's a list of stations' phone and fax numbers on the website and the FTP
Site (FKSTA.txt and STUPDT.txt) that are plain text--anyone can read them.

Writing--we've got a new episode coming up this weekend in many markets.
After watching the episode (or the next day, for those of us viewing the
program at a Godforsaken *YAWN* hour), WRITE A LETTER TO YOUR SYNDICATED
STATION thanking them for airing the program and how much you appreciate
seeing NEW EPISODES.

Hair--Aw, I don't mind all the brewhaha about my hair, but thanks for
caring! I think it's kind of amusing and blows off steam. Besides which,
the decision isn't mine because my life is not my own. I have been told a
number of time that I 'belong' to the list.

I wonder how that will affect my tax filing?

Subject: Mad Cow Disease

This was in today's 'net version of the NY Times. I could not help
but post in after all our discussion of the _Mad Cow Disease_.

LONDON --
For centuries, beef has held pride of place at the British table.
All that may change. Despite pledges by Government ministers that
British beef is safe, consumers by the droves are giving it up for
fear that meat from diseased cattle could cause a degenerative
brain disease. The Government emphasizes that no link has been
established between bovine spongiform encephalopathy, commonly known
as mad-cow disease,and Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, a rare brain
disease fatal to humans. Since November, when the scare erupted, the
Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has trotted out
scientists and reports suggesting that it is unlikely for a disease
to cross the "species barrier" and that even if it did, regulations
are in place to keep the diseased portions of cow carcasses out of
the human food chain. But the scare refuses to go away. For every
scientist who says beef is safe, there is one who says it may not
be. The debate over a possible link rages in British medical
journals. The public is voting with its fork. According to a
research organization, 1.4 million households have stopped buying
beef. The decline began in November and by mid-December, sales were
down 25 percent.

Wholly owned persons may be treated similarly to wholly owned
subsidiaries, such that they must file, report, and pay separate tax
information and liabilities. However, some wholly owned persons are what
is known in the law as legally incompetent (minors, mental incompetents,
persons under a court-ordered guardianship, etc.); those persons typically
need not file independent returns but are in fact deductions for the
principal filer and claimant. In this case, it appears the list would be
that filer, such that listowners Jaye and Laurie can deduct you as a
dependent.

Thus, since the law operates principally by analogy to existing
precedent, the salient question here is whether Susan M. Garrett (with
hair, pro tempore) is more like TriStar Televisions Productions (a wholly
owned subsidiary) or our Post-Campus-Cops listmember Blank, formerly Lisa
Anne Prince (a mental incmpetent currently under the guardianship of one
Dr. Luke Lacroix). Please advise.

Subject: Called affiliates, Daily News article

Called WNYW and WLIG today. The woman at WNYW was a tab bit patronizing
but that's OK--she told me that WNYW was *definitely* going to ask TriStar
to produce a fourth season of "Forever Knight" and since NYC is the number
1 market that should carry a lot of weight.

The woman at WLIG was *extremely* nice. She logged my call and chatted
with me for a few minutes. She seemed *really* happy about the feedback,
said they'd gotten calls, and said she'd keep an eye out for the press
releases. She also said that TriStar has not informed them that there
wouldn't be a 4th season, but that they would definitely ask for it
(another voice from the number 1 market).

Christine Hunt called and said there was an article in the New York Daily
News today about USA cancelling Forever Knight. I haven't seen it yet, but
apparently FK averaged a 1.3 rating (over 800,000 homes) during it's run,
whereas Silk Stalkings in the same slot average a 2.5 rating (1.6 million
homes). So ratings were a factor, but it occurred to me when I heard the
numbers that they weren't taking into account that SS had time to establish
itself and that it didn't have a syndicated airing the weekend before (and
in prime time in some big markets). So there it is. USA only looked at
the bottom line.

If anyone can get the press releases to the Daily News ASAP that would be
great. I looked everywhere for a FAX number and couldn't find one, but
this would be *excellent* follow up.

Not at all. i wouldn't mind if he ran a grunge club (though i think some
kind of four-star, tres exculsive Spago-type place is more his style).
i'm sure he'd manage to get all the most famous and best bands to play.

"Strip Night".

Grunge club is good. A greasy Live Nude Girls! is not, IMHO.

> again, I've not seen the club the way it once was so I've nothing to compare
> this new version with, and I've only seen ONE episode with the club at all,

Once it was beautiful and i used to stare with appreciative awe...

This season's Raven has gotten better, as the episodes have gone by.
Either the production designer heard us (or heard somebody), whomever
decided to make LC a swinger heard us (or stopped watching Silk
Stalkings), or maybe the scripts have just lapsed from showing us the
too much of the club for a while. Anyway, it is a little
better now that "Hearts" is just an embarrassing and fresh memory and NIQ
finally aired. (Though the LaCroix i saw at the end of NIQ was still
quite an oddity. That was not LaCroix walking to the bar there. That was
Nigel.)

> what's best for this show. But that won't stop me from discussing.

Good :)

I couldn't get my email to go through to the person asking about
this (which means I copied it down wrong, more than likely), but I
called my non-Internet mother who brought me across a couple of years
ago in Oklahoma City. Here is what she had:

Channel 9 KWTV (CBS affiliate) - Oklahoma City

Chennel 10 KTEN - (unknown affiliation) - Ada/Ardmore, OK and
Sherman/Denton, TX (according to her local TV Guide).

She is pretty sure that one of the local stations shows it in
Tulsa. Both major cable-tv systems in Oklahoma carry KWTV and they
cover most of the state, except for (maybe) the Panhandle counties.

Just say the show has been cancelled, give the web address, and ask people

We're getting a very bad rep among newsgroups right now for spamming. If
you DO post to a newsgroup and receive angry notes, return and apologize
(and it doesn't hurt to have the Save FK info in your sig!). Also, after
posting, keep track of where you were and return to that spot to check on

I think the people who've been spreading the word on the newsgroups are
doing a great job. Let's remember to clean up after ourselves and observe

I was just about to write about my call to WNYW and the Daily News
article when I saw Sharons post. The woman at WNYW--said yes they will
request the show when I asked her about the fourth season--she sounded
like she had received alot of calls.

In the Daily News TV column "Inner Tube" they mention that "two remaining
original episodes, and then only repeats will air in the Tuesday slot
for the "foreseeable" future"-- so it sounds like there will be new
episodes on USA. The reporter for this column is Richard Huff. I think
we should send our comments to him.

Contact Terry Johnson, Manager of Publicity at Columbia/Tri-Star at
00000 X. Xxxxxxxxxx Xxxx., Xxxxxx Xxxx, XX 00000, and make your feelings
known about continuing FK past the third season. Her direct number is
(000) 000-0000. She is the one handling the FK show.
Parriott's office today said that Tr-Star was making some effort in
pitching Knight to markets out there for a 4th Season. Your letters
certainly would help (though the hope was a glimmer at best of a 4th
Season possibility). Also, according to my source at Parriott, there is
discussion of an end episode for the 3rd Season. All the scripts have not been
written. If there is no Season 4, KNIGHT might close with a wrap-up
episode. Contact Parriott Productions at 4063 Radford Ave., Studio City,
CA 91604, (818)505-6690, for this info.
Also Mr. Perth's office at USA Network (1-310-201-2370) stated that there
would be plans to air 6 of the final 11 episodes, date to be determined
and that the Sci-Fi Channel at some future date would air the first 3
seasons of FK, including the final 5 that are now being produced.
This is all I know at present, but at least it is something. As Fred
Mollin said, it is important to press Tri-Star with your letters of
support as well as phone calls. I think it a good idea to contact Ms.
Johnson ASAP as she is the one handling the publicity of FK over at Tri-Star.

Keep your fingers crossed.
Sorry Nick.

Anyone who gets FK on WOLO, Columbia, SC, needs to be aware that the

Saturday-Sunday, but if it doesn't show tomorrow night, check Sunday.

and she was very nice also and midway through the conversation someone
else picked up an extension, we talked for some time and she said the

Hello Sharon-

I've faxed the press release to the News 212 682-4953, and also to the
Post, the Voice, WFUV, KROC, WKJY(KJOY), WBAI, 98.7(COOL 96 in CT), the
Gannet Newsgroup in Westchester, and of course TriStar.

WYNY was a good deal more cordial when I spoke to them yesterday. They
even help me get the TriStar syndie telephone number and encouraged me to
call to and let them know og our conversation. I did explain about the
neccesity of stopping by TriStar at NAPTE to ask for FK. I'd rather not
name names onlist, but the person was very enthusiastic. Guess it's
catching. I'm off to Arisia, but if anyone has any other fax numbers
they can think of for press releases please let me know.

Subject: Request for HELP! with Minneapolis Station

Ok, I am going to come out of lurkership to ask for help from any
Minneapolis/Twin-City FK fans. Up til now, I have been watching Forever
Knight on local station Channel 23 (I'm not sure of the call letters,
possibly KLGT?). They have had FK in an 11:00 p.m. Saturday night time
slot, not bad all things considering. I went away for a couple weeks, came
back and discovered FK had disappeared entirely to be replaced by something
called "High Tide" (blech! I watch 5 minutes and was revolted).

I called Channel 23 and was told the following: Because the show had not
been getting good ratings, the station, *despite* having bought the entire
package, has decided to simply show reruns. This defies any type of logic
to me, but then, the people at Channel 23 I originally spoke to seemed to
think that the show had been cancelled after one year and they had been
showing reruns ever since. I informed them this was not true, and they put
me through to someone only *slightly* more knowledgeable about what was
going on with the show. He informed me that FK is now in a floating time
slot. Depending on how many paid programs(infomercials) they get each week,
it may show up anytime from 12:00 a.m. to 5 a.m. on either Saturday or
Sunday! And they will not be showing any new episodes, just old ones, so
despite the fact that I have been looking forward to Strings all week, Its
just not going to happen! (*sob*)

I was informed that the more viewer comments they received on their viewer
comment line, the more likely something was to be done about this situation.
Also, they have apparently received other calls besides my own recently!
Anyway, they do not have a direct number to their viewer comment line, but
you can ask to be transferred to it, (or you could try to speak to someone
in person, like I did, or both). Their phone number is:
                                (612) 646-2300

If you are a viewer of FK on Channel 23, please take a few minutes to leave
a statement on their viewer comment line! Its just ludicrous to think that
they have those episodes and aren't going to play them for us!

BTW, for Minneapolis viewers: This week FK rerun will be on at 2:00 a.m
Saturday evening (Sunday morning)
Next week: 4:00 a.m. Saturday evening/Sunday morning!!!
Many Thanks
