Ok let's try this again, I wasn't aware the FK ftp had JV gifs so here's one
I've brought across ;) from Compuserve with my compliments for all the
Vaqueras.

Ack! Cough! Splutter! Tammy says merely "it was a rerun"!!

We're talking about "Night in Question" here! (Arguably) the best episode
of the season! The episode that got the highest ratings in Bea Quindlen's
survey! Something like 84% of the respondents gave it the highest
possible rating. (Couldn't find a copy of the survey but I think I'm
remembering correctly. Bea, correct me if I'm off here!)

I had both VCRs running simultaneously making really good copies -- one
for me, one to share. Next week I'll fill the second half of the tape
with another of the best episodes of the season -- "Sons of Belial"!

OK, I guess some people will disagree with me, but I've had my chance to
rant for the day. Thanks for listening, I'll calm down now.

P.S. I guess it's obvious that I'm not boycotting USA. As long as they
have Forever Knight, I'll watch it. Unfortunately my reception is less
than ideal for the Philly syndicated station (KYW-TV 3). The picture has
ghosts, and personally I think ghosts and vampires don't mix. ;) I'm very
happy I have a syndicated station to turn to, though! Gives me several
opportunities to watch each week.

I think I'll sit down and write another letter to KYW-TV 3 thanking them
& reminding them to ask for FK at NATPE!

Hear ye! Hear ye!

I'm finally making my somewhat silly resolutions common knowledge:

1) If we get the rest of season 3, I'm going to perm my hair. I don't know
what kind of perm, but suffice it to say that I've had perm-o-phobia since a
really awful perm in 5th grade looked more like an afro. This *is* a
sacrifice! (Footnote: I even, because 3rd season looks promising, made an
appointment for Weds. night at my hairdresser. Those going to ARISIA will
get to witness results first-hand (or is that first-hair? :-))

2) If we get season four, I am giving up chocolate forever. 'nuff said.

The unofficial official word from a VERY good source:
Paragon has the green flag to complete the *third* season (having their deals
with Europe and Canada to thank for that).

*The BIG bad news*:

TriStar has *already told the producers* that there will NOT be a fourth
season, and they have given the green light to DESTROY THE SETS and sell
everything which isn't nailed down *immediately* after shooting is finished
in **February!!!!!**

*The Time Is Now*:

To let TriStar know of the thousands of fans who want the show to continue
and evolve.

Pick up those pens!

Talk to those viewers and badger those local programmers! Go to those
conventions and hand out those flyers!! Rally, troops, rally!!! Pledge and
send your NATPE money! Get back in touch with all your media sources and
keep them abreast of matters--- tell them to tell their
viewers/listeners/etc. to get in touch with *TriStar*!!! We've got to get
new blood involved! Judging from Bea's (admittedly phenomenal) survey, we
need about *three times* the paper we've been generating so far!

If TriStar gets enough feedback, it might turn the tide. Otherwise, as my
source says:

'Forever Not' WILL BE A REALITY!!!!!

Hello everyone,

After being off the list for a while, I was finally able to get back on
and boy what a shocker I had. I knew USA was up to something screwy when
they started showing HIGHLANDER twice day and NO Forever Knight. Sounds
like we are in the wars again. I went through some old messages and I
found the following information and hopefully this will help. I can't
believe they're doing this after all they hype they gave to FK back in
September. SOFK!!!!!!

Subject: Re: Calling syndicated stations

Earlier, our Nebraska Natpacker Teresa said (forgive me for I have lost the
post) that her station told her that they plan on asking for a fourth season
*IF IT IS OFFERED* at NATPE.

Nonononononono!!!!! <cringe>

This Will Not Do! <G>

To Teresa and anyone else who finds themselves in that situation, we *can not
afford* to take that for an answer in this case!!! Any director of
programming must be told *explicitly* that they need to ASK for the fourth
season! TriStar WILL NOT BE OFFERING a fourth season, and we might as well
toss our carefully thought letters to the wind if this is the impression we
leave the DPs with.

In this scenario, he/she goes to NATPE, stops by the TriStar booth, and
*there's nothing related to FK there*. We already *know* this will be a
fact.

Given half a chance, this information will fly in one ear and out the other
if the syndicated station rep shows up at the convention and *depends upon
TriStar's display* to remind them that one of their constituents said, "By
the way, please pick up the next season of "Forever Knight"." If they happen
by some freak of nature to miss our glorious bags, and merely select from
what they are offered at the TriStar booth, then that means no FK. If the
station rep says to themselves, "Oh well, they're not offering this show
again, I'll pick another selection," that's not much good *at all* to our
cause.

When you have your local station rep on the line, *do not* let them wriggle
off without telling them that you have *a very good inkling* that TriStar
will not *BE* offering a fourth season, and that they have to ASK for it.
You must say, *ask*, and tell them that you have more than a suspicion that
TriStar has no plans to offer the fourth season UNLESS enough local stations
ask for it. This is not a suggestion, guys This is crucial to the scheme.

BTW, I'm sniffling in sympathy for Susan already. My hair hangs to the small
of my back now, and any one of my friends can tell you I don't think any more
of that hair than I do of my right arm. However, I should also put in that I
chopped it all off in the summer of my sophomore year in college (think of
The Little Dutch Boy on the paint cans <VBG>), which was six years ago, and
I've had quite a few two-inch trims since then. As long as you hack it all
off to a single length, you should be okay. It's layers and bangs that are a
b**** to grow out. Massaging with the pads of the fingers (not the nails) as
you wash your hair also helps, if you want to grow it back really fast. It's
the same principle as the 'tapping your fingernails on a hard surface
promotes growth' one.)

And yes, Cynthia, I will get some sleep now. Promise. <G>

Subject: save the "boycott" for later?

I'm glad to see so much discussion generated by the boycott-USA-or-not idea!
Both "pros" and "cons" have some very valid points. I *do* think that we
should keep mulling this over and think about some sort of mass fan *thing*
in case things look even more grim in a month or so, but that for right now
we should focus on our local stations and NATPE. (or is it NAPTE? I can
never remember...) Whatever we end up doing, I agree that it should be
dignified.

Charity note: I posted a flyer at the stable where I keep my horsie, and got
a woman who's never seen FK but who loves to help the "little guy" offer to
hand me a check this weekend. Ohhhh....I hope it's a <good> check...this
woman can afford it, and needs tax write-offs, and already gives major
buck-age to animal rescue organizations and the like every year. If nothing
else, everyone at my stable now knows about FK and teases me unmercifully
about my "closet" Internet and "weird vampire show" habits. ;) Hey--I can
take it!

I called this number today and it must have been an answering service or
something because the recording said that this operator (#000) no longer
subscribed to the service. I eventually got a real person. When I asked for
Tangled Web Audio, I was put on hold for a while and *finally* got an
operator at Tangled Web. I told her that I wanted to order an audio tape,
and she said that the department was closed down. After questioning her
further (she was rather rude, or clueless, or both), she basically said that
there were *no tapes of any kind available*...and there won't be in the
future. She wasn't very cooperative, so I didn't press further, but it
sounds like they are going out of business. Has anyone else called recently?
I've been waiting to get the tape until someone else was successful in
ordering...I guess I waited too long. :(

Subject: Fandom Directory

Some additional information about _Fandom Directory_ : Number 15
(1995-1996 edition) is the current edition of this annual publication.
FK doesn't have its own "interests" category yet, although the
foreword says that FK is one of eighteen additional interest categories
awaiting a sufficient number of fans to state them as one of their
"other" interests before it gets its own code and is added to the
data form. I know the listings for individuals, clubs, conventions,
and fan publications are free and I think other listings are too
(although there is paid advertising in the book too). There are also
listings of research libraries, computer bulletin boards, retail
stores, and an electronic communications index. There are Canadian
and overseas listings also. The current edition is 608 pages long.
The next edition is slated for publication on March 20, 1996. You
can buy ads from classified size to full page. You have to have your
space reserved by January 19 and the ad copy deadline is January 26
should this be of interest to anybody.

This sounds like trouble! I posted an order for _Hauntings_ on 22 Dec

tapes are. I e-mailed Tangled Web, they sent me an order form, and I
posted my order--hummmm. I do hope I have not been duped out of $17.
